After enjoying Euphemias for 30 plus years we will not be returning or recommending it going forward. ☹️ The service was subpar the seven layer, blueberry lemon cake was dry. The salads was flat. Our meals came out after 40 minutes… cold.! When we let our waitress know that our meals were cold, she took the plates, put them in the microwave and put them back on the table with a lot of bad attitude,! We were polite and respectful waitress was not polite and did not acknowledge that our meals had been delivered icold. We ordered the blueberry lemon cake, and she proceeded by slamming the slice of cake on the table and reported that she would comp 1 slice of awful cake !! Extremely bad experience all the way around at a restaurant we have enjoyed for so many years. Sorry to say.!

For years I’ve taken friends and visitors to see the dessert bar and bring home pies. Today had a friend visiting from Europe. Told him all about it. He couldn’t wait to see the famous Euphemia Haye dessert bar. The girl told us she would not sell us take out pies because the guy who cuts them hadn’t come to work. While she explained this she and two other staff stood over the pies, refusing to slice or hand them to us because it’s not their job. Like something from the Soviet Union. Never again.

the atmosphere at Euphemia Haye is charming, homey and wait staff excellent. this is my first post pandemic meal here and it was ok but not up to it previous standard. the popular caesar salad was a little disappointing despite being made on request it was bland, we requested more cheese to brighten it. Priced at $15 It should have had a least an anchovy instead if you requested anchovy it was additional $5.00. we tried several appetizers to get a good overview of the menu. the snails and mushrooms were on the salty side but tasty with an abundance of fresh garlic. the sweet potato gnocchi was light and tasty in a delicious cream sauce, the buckwheat crepes with smoked salmon was presented beautifully and tasty but the crepes were a little heavy, a lighter buckwheat blini would have been better. the beef tornados were beautifully done with peppercorn and a well seasoned sauce served with truffle mashed potato. Overall I personally feel the entrees are overpriced considering sides are an additional cost. the pecan pie which in the past was excellent was very disappointing, the crust was thick and heavy, a thin layer of filling was topped with pecans and vanilla ice cream. The Haye Loft sported a piano player pre pandemic but no longer...too bad. Overall Euphemia Haye could use a menu update.

We went in early December on a weeknight, we made a reservation, it turned out. It wasn’t really that busy, about half full perhaps. We were seated immediately at an intimate table near the window in the far room room. Very quaint dining room. Formal. Our waiter was very attentive. We got a bottle of wine. It was a small kitchen out in the dining room, where they would prepare Caesar salad and some flambé dishes. My wife’s cousin recommended this place, the duck was highly recommended, I had it, and it was absolutely delicious. After dinner, we went upstairs to the separate dessert room and got a great presentation on the desserts that they had that night. I had the Keylime pie. It was delicious. A little Baileys on the rocks has a nightcap.

The hostess was the rudest person I've encountered in a while. Assumed she was the owner with that audacity but nope! Just a hostess. Ordered chocolate cake and got a weird peanut butter cake.

2024 update: The Haye Loft continues to be one of our all time FAVORITE places on Longboat Key. Sammy and J-hon are the BEST and have ALWAYS provided GREAT customer service. The service, drinks & food make for a wonderfully fun and relaxing evening catching up with all the regular customers.

We heard great things about this place. Be prepared to sit at a too small table squeezed into a small room with diners too close to each other for comfort. Our food plates took up the table. Service was spotty. Greeted quickly and seated immediately. Waited a long time for appetizers to come and entrees thereafter. Food was very good and as described by other diners here. Extensive wine list. Building has old world charm but felt cramped.

We have loved our annual “special meal & experience” at Euphemia Haye. Last night the restaurant was full and we sat in the “hidden section” out front to right of entrance. We sat for almost 30 minutes with no server to take our cocktail order, never had this experience. Another server noticed and got our drinks, another brought us bread. The service and evening then got better once we ordered. Food was great and the Haye Loft for dessert and a drink finished the evening on a high note.

We celebrated a Birthday and as usual the staff treated us like family. We brought friends who had never been and they reported that they had the best steak they had ever had in their lives. Euphemia Heye never fails to be one of the best experience dinners we have ever had.

Ate on main floor, we were escorted upstairs for insanely good desert, then retired to their bar for an after dinner cocktail. Great experience.

While we came for the duck and everyone else enjoyed it, mine was dry and over done.

From greeting at the door to a wonderful waiter, David, and great service from all. The food was really delicious and we loved the ambience. This was our third straight anniversary treat and each has been outstanding. Looking forward to our next visit. Mike Phillips
