Been going there for years, their prices have skyrocketed, mainly on clothes, they charge like resellers. Sadly is the only good thrift in the area so youre stuck paying high prices on things that are donated. Furniture and other products are still prices fairS

I recently had the pleasure of shopping at American Thrift Store Lauderhill and had the most delightful experience thanks to Anna, the wonderful staff member working in the jewelry department. From the moment I walked in, Anna greeted me with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm, instantly making me feel welcome and valued as a customer. Her positive energy and kind demeanor set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic shopping trip.Anna's exceptional customer service skills truly stood out as she went above and beyond to assist me in finding the perfect piece of jewelry. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable about the store's inventory, but she also took the time to listen to my preferences and offered valuable suggestions tailored to my taste. Her patience and understanding made the entire shopping process enjoyable and stress-free. I was impressed by her attention to detail and willingness to help me explore different options until I found exactly what I was looking for.In addition to her impeccable professionalism, Anna's genuine kindness and willingness to go the extra mile left a lasting impression on me. She not only provided exceptional service but also made me feel like a valued and appreciated customer. Without a doubt, Anna's exceptional qualities make her an invaluable asset to the American Thrift Store Lauderhill team. I honestly LOVE this thrift store. I have two small boys whom I love purchasing toys and clothes. Helps our family save BIG money while repurposing to help the environment. Sadly, I no longer think I can shop here due to a very RUDE customer who I see there daily. She has pushed me and my young children out of the way to get to a cart as well as taking a toy right out of my 3 year olds hands!!! She has also spewd inappropriate racial slurs at me and other customers. This woman is a menace to the store and should be banned. I will find another place to shop where I can save money. I’m sad to no longer shop here but I will no longer allow this regular to harass me and my family. Hopefully, she will stop shopping there or management can address her behavior so we can hopefully return someday.

Barbara's presence at American Thrift Store in Lauderhill casts a shadow over the shopping experience for both customers and workers alike. Her consistent rudeness towards staff members creates a hostile atmosphere, with her evident jealousy towards patrons exacerbating the tension. Teaming up with Camille, another individual known for her abrasive demeanor, Barbara has cultivated an environment of discomfort and unease. Not only does Barbara display a flagrant disregard for basic courtesy, but her actions also veer into the realm of dishonesty and theft. Numerous customers have witnessed her altering price tags, breaking items to manipulate their cost, and even outright stealing merchandise. This behavior extends beyond mere opportunism; it reflects a deep-seated entitlement and a lack of respect for both the store and its clientele. Moreover, Barbara's discriminatory attitudes, particularly towards those speaking languages other than English, further underscore her toxic presence within the establishment. One particularly egregious incident saw Barbara brazenly pilfering merchandise, changing price tags with a marker she had concealed in her bag. Her audacity in the face of others' disbelief highlights the impunity with which she operates. It's disheartening that such a figure is allowed to not only frequent the store but also dictate her own rules, including the privilege of bringing her own chair. Ultimately, Barbara's unchecked behavior casts a pall over American Thrift Store, leaving both employees and customers wary of her disruptive presence.

The prices are nasty work. It doesn’t matter if the item is flawed to the core…. if it’s vintage, they will charge more than what you can find it for online. 25 years shopping here… I’m done.

This place is terrible. There are a group of eBay sellers who stand near the back and push and shove everyone to try to get the new items first. The management doesn't care. One rude lady brings her own stool so she can sit there and push her way up to the new stuff coming out. If you complain, the management will kick you out Prices are high but beware, most of the stuff is damaged or dirty so make sure you look carefully before you buy

I have been shopping here for years, (see my previous post) unfortunately your prices on many of your items are exorbitant. I understand some designer brand names will have higher prices but please be reasonable, you're a thrift store. Some items are not selling and have been on racks for months and prices are not reduced. I do still shop and enjoy your store but your pricing strategy needs to be revamped.

My mother in law patronized your business yesterday and parked where we normally park in the parking lot around the corner since there is very little parking space at your establishment, and got her car booted. This is unacceptable and something has to be done about having to pay a $76 cost to remove it!! Please understand if this is not addressed measures will be taken starting with me posting this to my colleagues at the Department of Justice and making sure everyone knows not to come shop there since your vehicle may get booted. Lastly there were no parking signs so how would anybody know!!Reply:Except provide adequate parking for your patrons which is the reason she parked where she parked to begin with. This business will never see another penny from us or anybody we know and hopefully you go out of business sooner than later!!

I’ve been going here for years. Firstly none of the cashiers have a good grasp of the English language. This makes it impossible to communicate unless you speak Spanish.Secondly due to most of the cashiers being Hispanic, they will discriminate against you if you are a different race. I had an item with a sticker that was partially ripped. I understand the bo sticker policy. However several times my husband and I have gone in and we’re able to purchase something with a ripped sticker. She would not allow me to. So I asked to speak to a manager. She refused. I asked again and she just stood there and ignored me until I went away. If my husband whom was with me(whom is Hispanic) was there we would have not had that issues. Several times they have sold us things with partially ripped stickers. If you’re going to be racist do it on your own time and not in an established business. This is disgusting and I’m sure I’m not the first.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent experience at your Lauderhill, FL thrift store. I visited your establishment on 09/24/23 and encountered a particularly frustrating and disheartening situation.Upon entering the store, I presence a argument between a regular client and a staff member. identified as Rosa who immediately asked to be helped by the floor manager identified according to her shirt tag as Karen who soon enough recurred to a higher authority member named Xiomara However, it quickly became apparent that neither of them spoke any English or had a very limited understanding of the language. What a horrible experience. This language barrier posed a significant challenge for customers. I had difficulty conveying my questions and needs, and Karen's inability to understand and communicate effectively only added to the customer frustration. It is highly disappointing to encounter such a fundamental issue in a retail establishment, where customer service should be a top priority.I believe that effective communication is essential in any customer service-oriented business, and the inability of a floor manager to communicate with customers in English is unacceptable. This experience not only hindered my ability to find and purchase the items I needed but also left me feeling undervalued and ignored as a customer.

I bought a $350 backpack for $25, an lcd TV for $20, and a dvd player for $8.This store is good for men and women, where as other thrift stores mostly have women's items. They have electronics, tools, antiques, an entire large second floor loaded with furniture. I go there weekly and they have new stuff every time. I just concentrate on scanning for items and avoid getting into fights with people getting in the way.

This is the best thrift store I have been to in years!!! I go once a week, and no bad words are need to be said about this place. The store is always as clean as can be. The prices have gone up just a tad bit, but it is still acceptable to me and others. The cashiers are the best part about going to the store! All of the cashiers are nice and very helpful to the customers. In specifically the cashier named Ana, is the most responsive and responsible employee that always makes me want to keep going to visit the store! Every morning she greets all with a huge smile that brightens everyones day!

I am a regular costumer who goes just to browse around once in a while and I always overhear a person named Camille.I had an incredibly negative experience with Camille at American Thrift. She complained a couple of times about the condition and smell of merchandise which led me to ask what her name was. Not only did she scream and create an uncomfortable atmosphere, but her treatment of employees with racist remarks was completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, I witnessed her stealing merchandise from the store. This behavior is completely inappropriate and reflects poorly on both her and the store. I would strongly advise others to avoid interacting with Camille and reconsider supporting American Thrift if they tolerate such behavior.

"sorry, no drinks in store. Sorry, changing room is closing *time was just after 6pm"Parking is horrendous and sometimes dangerous. The whole building is a bacteria factory. I've been hit with a shopping cart just minding my own business over a dozen times. Not sure why I keep giving this place my business, if a cleaner thrift store with only half their inventory came to this area then I'd never shop here again.
