Looking for a bearded dragon

Please read!!!!!! I am new to the reptile world and wanted to get items for a bearded dragon as well as information how to properly care for the animal. A young girl came over and I started asking her questions about size, food, the correct lighting etc. Let me say the first thing she said is that bearded dragons did not need water in there cage because of humidity and to soak them 2x a week. I asked if the bearded dragons there had any water and she said no. So we went and looked the animals are all in cages w minimal needs and no water! I also noticed that a tortoise had no water. I bought lights and spent close to 300 dollars. After paying for these items I notice that her and the employee are taking each light bulb out touching and writing a date on the light bulb. I asked them if there is something that I ended up not needing or needing to exchange for something else it wont be a problem right? The manager said all sales final but they do store credit. I said okay. I went home and when I put everything together 1 dome wasn't working. So I jumped up and drove back to the store (I had bought the pet from a different store) when I told the manager the dome didn't work. She said when you put the bulb in you can smash the pin and it will not work. I politely said I have used light bulb for years, as we were talking she was very rudely telling her employee to pull the pin out. I advised that I didn't care if she could pull the pin out i didn't want the item. I would just like another one. The manager said fine and told the employee they would fix it later!!!!! I said nothing- they opened the box and tested it before i left to ensure it worked. I will never go back there my 80 dollar bulb worked for 2 days and broke. I know she will have something to say and after knowing that they break the manufacturer warranty the moment they touch and write on the bulbs, I would not purchase another one, so at this point I haven't even resolved that issue. TO be treated as a thief or criminal after spending 300 in the store and bringing one 30 dollar dome was broke- now I am wrong. They are a puppy mill but for reptiles. Poor experience.

In your in town for this is a need to stop place... have a large range of stuff. I felt like a kid in a toy store...This is a family owned business, and they make u feel like family..Thank you all for guys for everything

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!!!! This place is horrible. I came to the store drove over an hour to see some snakes. We waited about 15 minutes to be waited on mind you no other customers were in the store. The girl who finally came to help us was not helping us for more than 2 minutes says hold on and started waiting on a new customer who just walked in. So we are patently waiting for another 20 min and there was another employee just staying around so I asked if he could show us some snakes. He came right over and helped us. He was suggesting snakes that were new that they just got in in the back. We liked one of them and he told me a price but said to call the next day to make sure that was the correct price and talk with the owner. So that meant we would have to drive all that way again. The next day I called and spoke to a woman who got the owner on the phone to confirm that the price was correct. I called back a couple days later to make sure they still had the snake and that indeed the price was correct before driving all the way there again. The woman who was on the phone was so rude was trying to tell me that the price was now wrong and the snake is more money. I tried to explain how the owner already confirmed the price while she huffed and puffed at me on the phone. Then the owner gets on the phone and said she didn't realize what snake it was when we confirmed 2 times and it was the only kind of snake that was there. This place is so rude and their customer service is horrible. They are just out to make money and up charge. They told me a price on another snake and I had a friend call the day after and they quoted him another price. Not a way to run a business!

Super long but good... First I would like to say I have purchased about four times from this store. I live an hour away so that drive is a bit much after you hear what happened. Even my first encounter with them was rough. But, I am all for second chances. I first heard of this company by walking around Repitcon. I went to purchase four ReptiBreeze enclosures. While going to pay my husband noticed Amazon had an $8 less a cage price difference. So basically I would buy three and get one free going through Amazon. So of course I said nevermind. The girl ringing me up gave me a HUGE attitude and turned to (I'm guessing the manager who was nice btw) and said "Amazon". I explained how I am sorry but I have a ton more to purchase in the future but her attitude never changed so I left. I ended up buying cages from another vendor there as they were kind, helpful and not an $8 increase in price. About a month ago I needed Pinhead crickets. So, my normal store did not have any in stock. Which brought us back here. I've been here about three times now ( twice sending my husband when he's in the area) and EVERY SINGLE time the crickets I ask for I do not get. I've been able to make do but today was enough! So, Fast forward to today. I sent my mother in law (who bless her heart knows nothing of this world but I am grateful for her efforts) to this store because I again needed crickets. I did not think anything of it but she put me on speakerphone. I asked how big their crickets are because like I said they have been wrong every time. They told me and I told them I needed 300 1/4inch and 15 1/2 inch. Well, I ended up with 150 1/8 inch and 150 1/2 inches plus about a third of those were 1 inch. Then I got not 15 but about 8-10 3/4 inch. Like WHAT!?! Well I called and as I was speaking to the sales person who got my request way wrong I could hear the manager yapping in the background and the sales person was repeating everything she is saying. So, I ask does someone else want to speak to me or what and she put her on the line. She told me because I already put the ones she gave me (1 bag not the other two) that those were now contaminated and there is nothing she can do. She said I could bring back the others for exchange. She also said though that if they die she can not do anything for me. Well seeing how these crickets only last about two hours in these bags I am not stuck with over 300 crickets I can not do anything with. Like I said, I'm an hour away. Needless to say I will NEVER step foot in this place again and I have many many friends in that area that I will encourage to go elsewhere as I used to live there. I will encourage them and you reading this to go to Herp Hobby Shop in Oldsmar. They are absolutely amazing and have gone above and beyond for us and our friends we sent there.

This is a hard review for me to leave as we have loved this store and shopped for many years. But this recent experience has left us shocked and we will not be returning. This is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Because of all of the years we bought our rats, mice, worms.We came last week for our daughter to get her new blue tongue skink and purchased a pvc cage while there for our snake to move to. We paid $212. We were there right at close at 7p. When we got home before we pulled it out of the trunk, we noticed the entire track glue was dried up and the piece was falling off. I made sure to go right at open 11a the next day.The owner was away getting ready for a reptile event so I could not speak to her. An employee called her and explained to me after that no refund could be given because all sales are final. They could only do a store credit. I was aware of their return policy from shopping there before. This was different to me as they sold me a cage that was broken (which I know they didn't know that it was broke when they did). The employee said theyhad one other cage like the broken one in the back. There weren't any more because the manufacturer wasn't making them anymore. We didn't take the option of the other cage because we couldn't risk the same issue with it being for our snake that escapes easily AND that we saw the glue issue and know it will happen again. We were offered the same size but in a glass tank for $50 more. We are moving towards pvc so wasn't looking at glass and didn't want to spend more. Because we couldn't speak to Angie, we took the store credit and left our name & phone number for her to call us when she returned after Memorial Day.Then today, Wednesday, I still had not heard from her so I called and she answered the phone. When I explained what happened & the issue, she said no return because they had another cage the same size. I explained why we didn't want another one, she said they have sold 100s with no issues so it was my choice. That I had other options for only $5 more. That would be the glass for $50 more. Their policy is no returns only store credit no matter what (even if they sell a broken cage!). So I was left with a store credit with no pvc options.Through the discussion she also said the manufacturer wasn't making these cages anymore but later in the call said her husband made them & she knows the glue is okay.She also said she couldn't refund the store credit later in the conversation because it's like purchasing a gift card and her system wont allow it. That I took the store credit so there is nothing she could do on top of it being a no return policy. I explained I was only given that as an option because she was unavailable.Im so disappointed that a business can sell a broken high dollar item to their customer and not make it right. They can say all day that a store credit makesit right, but thats not true when I am left to go somewhere else to spend more money for a cage. I never would have bought a glass cage as I wasnt looking for one.So I'm left with spending my credit and then will not be doing business here again.

This shop has the best selection of feeders and reptile supplies in the Tampa area, hands down. I always go out of my way to visit whenever I need to change up my babies' diet or need to update their tanks! As an arachnid keeper, they have good options for my eight-legged children too, which is SO appreciated!??

Lots of animals very clean they're very too well taken care of that I could see not that I'm an expert. They weren't taking care of they wouldn't be moving around like they were I've been there a few couple times more a couple times but it's always nice and clean and they always say hi and just a good place to go to check them out worth going to

If you're looking for a great selection of invertebrates and looking for popular invertebrates (tarantulas), then Pinellas County Reptiles could be your one-stop shop. The selection of invertebrates is awesome and is getting better. The tarantula species are very popular species in the hobby. The prices are excellent because this store is smart enough to sell their tarantulas as slings, making it cheaper and easier to get your invertebrate collection going. All the invertebrates and other animals for sale are healthy and well cared for. The employees aren't very knowledgeable, but they still do a good job. The feeder selection is awesome as well, which lets me be able to give my invertebrates a massive diet of different foods, which is important when taking care of invertebrates such as tarantulas. I definitely recommend this store if you're into invertebrates. I can't wait to see what other awesome invertebrate they stock, I will definitely be adding more to my collection as they stock newer and popular species of invertebrate in store. I kinda wish I could get a job working here as I have 5 years of care and husbandry with tarantula and other invertebrates. Anyway, I wish this store much success and a better customer base. They definitely deserve it. They make it where I can save time by not having to wait for my invertebrates by shopping online and paying over $40 for Live Arrival Guarantee. And, just a few photos of some of my babies I've purchased from this awesome local seller.

Knowledgeable and carrying staff. They have a wonderful selection of care supplies at prices very close to online retailers. They offer a guarantee on bulbs and have a lovely selection of reptiles for purchase that are all in appropriate cages and environments. I have purchased two reptiles and a ton of supplies from them and, even though it's more than 40 minutes away from my house, it's my go-to place now. So glad we found it!
