The employees will lie to you to get a sale and you get nickel and dimed for everything when you are adopting a puppy from here. They get their puppies exclusively from puppy mills, just do some research if you're interested.

BUYER BEWARE: All the puppies sold here are sourced exclusively from puppy mills. Almost every time I set foot in their store, their animals have exhibited obvious signs of illness.. The only reason Petland is still allowed to continue selling puppies in Pinellas County is because our legislation
has not caught up to the many other states and counties that have already banned the sale of dogs in retail stores. if you want to avoid potential heartbreak and costly veterinary bills, do not buy puppies from this company-- or at least, do some research and read the numerous horror stories and lawsuits tied to them. .

We were looking for a Siberian Husky at the store but oddly enough we were unable to speak with anyone at the store and had to speak with an answering service. They stated they could not provide any pricing and we would have to drive from Naples to Largo and speak with the staff in person before any pricing could be provided. We are not sure there is a dog and we are not driving for hours to find that out. A bazaar way of doing business. Mike

I walked out of Petland so sad. I came into Petland wanting to adopt Alexandra (mini bernedoodle) 6 months old puppy. Petland is more concerned about making money than the wellbeing of these animals. $4200 for this little girl. They wouldn’t budge in dropping the price. So instead of going home to a loving home, she’s now trapped in a kennel until someone is willing to pay this amount of money. Awful…just awful! My heart breaks for this sweet little girl.

The puppies are great but there was a lot of concerns. First of all, we found out a the vet that the dog had worms, second of all, it was so expensive. ALMOST 2 GRAND.

Abbie sold us a puppy last week. She told us that everything was included with our puppy. However, we were charged separately for things that were “included” with the dog.
If I had been told the crate and everything in it was optional I would not have purchased it. I flat out told Abbie that I owned a crate already. I owned everything that she charged me $299.99 for already. She kept telling me it was included.
She told me the puppy for life program was included yet it cost me $199.99. She sold me a collar for $11.99 that was also “included”.
Then microchip activation, which should be free, and a complete scam. That’s was another $199.99.
I can’t imagine how anyone could possibly enjoy ripping people off for a living. If I had been given the time to look at the contract instead of having my signature copied and pasted on the paperwork then I possibly would have realized what a scam this place is.
I also get “free vet visits for life” at a vet office that was horrible and also cost $72. Stay away from this place, complete scam!
The “five star reviews “ are all written by the same person. If you read them, they’re all similar and totally fake. Don’t go here, it’s a mistake.

ATTENTION PLS READ THIS BEFORE YOU ADOPT ANY DOGS FROM HERE!!!
I wish I had done this review 7 years ago! I was so young and did not know how to talk back then! I adopted my baby girl here at this location. She is a sweet tiny little Chiweenie. The first time meeting my dog she was so energetic, playful, and healthy. She was in the same crate with another tiny miniature pinscher. One of the employees was so sweet in getting us to play with her in the playpen. I decided to get my dog on that day. I put down the money and would be back to pick her up next week when my apartment was ready. The following week I came back to pick her up with my ex. They forced me to finish signing up the paper in the front. I told them my ex could do it. I wanted to walk to see my dog and walk around to see if anything I can buy for my dog ( showcase in the back of the store) but they insisted me stand there. 10mins later one of the employees brought my dog up to me. She looked so sick and out of energy. I asked them why my dog was like that they refused to answer and changed the topic and took a pic of me and my dog ( they do that on every adoption to post on FB). On the way I drove home she started vomiting and shaking. So I called them they said she was fine ( I thought maybe it was the car sick) but her symptoms didn't get better. Few days later, I took my dog to the vet that works with Petland Largo ( you will have a free consultation within 2 weeks after adoption or something). The vet wasn't there and they claimed that they didn't have a nebulizer. I called back to the store to ask what should I do cause my dog was so sick to the point that she stopped eating. Instead of helping a lady who answered the phone tried to blame it on me any single way that they possibly could do “ where did you take the dog…omg I don't know how’s the dog going to be right now…did you let your dog jump in the house maybe that was the cause blah blah blah” At that point I was like FORGET IT!!! I know your game! I decided to save my dog by taking her to the best vet around my area. Shout out to my Vet clinic “The Best Care Hospital” (the best vet I ever been) The vet said she had pneumonia and almost didn't make it if I didnt take her to the hospital on time. The vet also asked me more questions and when she heard where I got my dog from. She felt bad and gave my dog free medicine and shots cause this place is well known for sick puppy mills. Later on me and my sister did the research there were so many lawsuit cases that happened like this and none of the customers won the case cause of the papers that they let you sign that day. I went to search for more on Petland Largo's Facebook page. Usually when people adopt their puppy they will post the pictures on the feed. But there was no my picture nor any other people who had a problem with them just like mine. This place doesn't give a damn about animals or after services it's just a puppy mill and thank god I'm so glad I made the right decision to take my dog somewhere else and save her life from that hell. It’s been 7 years that i’ve been having her and it’s been 7 years that I will never forget this happened to me and my baby girl. She is the sweetest, strongest and smartest dog I ever had. After that I swore to myself I would never support a place like this or recommend anybody to go there, never ever again. Sometimes I wonder how the miniature pinscher that was in the same crate with her doing. Did it make it or did they just toss the dog away when it sick?!?!?

Like that they carry a lot of BOGO on chew toys for dogs, makes items very reasonably priced.

They wanted $7000, SEVEN THOUSAND for a dachshund. I had specifically told the appointment setter my budget and she said the manager told her to bring me in as they could work with that. Then they wanted double what my budget was. Ridiculous. I went to Sunshine Puppies and got exactly what I wanted and even less what I had budgeted. They were not pushy like Petland manager was. I left with my kid to the car and he cornered my wife and was trying to get her to apply for finance which my wife didn’t want to cause we weren’t buying a 7k puppy. We told them multiple times we were not doing that. So he waits until I walk away to corner her!?? Petland won’t ever get my business for anything.

I will never go back to this place again! I arrived at the store about ten minutes until close because I happened to be in the area because I had to pick my sister up from the Red Lobster across the street. I had never been to this petland before even though I see their puppies on Facebook all of the time. My sister and I went into the back to check out the puppies and there were a few people in the store still looking at puppies. There was only one girl in the back that was helping a couple out that wanted to see a puppy. Everyone else was hurrying trying to close up the store. I saw the bernadoodle puppy and wanted to more information on it. The girl told me it was $2500 dollars and quickly ran into the back. I'm assuming she thought telling me the expense of the puppy would turn me away since I'm a young girl and thought I couldn't afford it. I'm not trying to boast about how much money I make, but I make plenty and have plenty of money set aside to buy a puppy. I was ignored by the girl until I finally went to the front of the store and asked the girl at the cash register for help. The girl in the back then brought the puppy out and was very rude to my sister and I about how the store was closing soon. I gave the puppy back to her and she told me that someone already said they were picking the puppy up the next morning but if I came back before them I could get it. What?! That to me is very rude! I don't want to take a puppy that someone already has their heart set on! I then asked the girl where the bathroom was so that I could wash the puppy fur off of my hands and she told me that the store was closed. I told her that I only wanted to wash my hands. The employees there were incredibly rude and cared more about getting out of work early than helping their customers. I would assume there would be a higher level of customer service considering people are coming to spend $1000+ at the store...
