Sat following the hurricane with generators running this incredible staff took care of my teacup chihuahua. I truly thought he was going to have to struggle through the weekend after calling all of the local vet offices. The staff was friendly and thorough and my Lil Chuy got the treatment the needed at a reasonable cost. Thank you from a very concerned and now very happy fur mom.

Beware of Loving Care Animal Hospital's potentially exploitative diagnostic and billing practices. Following an initial free consultation, I encountered a misdiagnosis, necessitating return visits and tests, including x-rays and blood work, with unclear pricing. Specifically, the $200 radiologist fee for x-ray analysis was not disclosed until after I agreed to the procedure. This lack of transparency may partially explain why many animals are stray, as owners struggle to afford such unforeseen expenses. On my first visit he told me he knew what was wrong with my dog because he has a few dogs that have the same issue and had me buy steroids that did absolutely nothing? Now wants to give me a $610.40 and then add on $170.75 for the radiologist. I hope he feels good tonight because I still don't have a diagnosis on my baby.

We are in a new area and I took my pup to the vet today after locating this vet online due to her licking at her paw after a minor cut or bite in the grass. The first thing I noticed was that the vet tech did not look at me in the eye, she kind of looked away while talking to me. For me, it felt odd. But then it became even odder when the Vet Doctor entered. He actually closed his eyes while looking at me. Also, after speaking with multiple other vets and breeders in the past, I inquired with him about breeding my airedale terrier just to gain some additional knowledge from another professional about it, doing my due diligence to educate myself. The professionals in the past that I inquired with appreciated my asking and told me both the positive and negative aspects of breeding your animal. Although I appreciated the information he shared, this gentlemen seemed very judgmental towards me and my desire to possibly breed my dog and spoke only of the negative aspects and claimed that it was "my choice" but he didn't seem to be meaning that.I explained that I am allergic to animal hair and that my dog is hypoallergenic and I feel hypoallergenic dogs are valuable for those of us that can't otherwise withstand dog/cat hair. Once again he came off as being very one sided where as other multiple professionals in the past never responded to me this way, acting as though I have not or would not research all aspects of breeding before I would do it. This was the whole reason I was inquiring to yet another vet, yet I did not feel seen and as though I was being looked down upon. Everything I asked about in the office was rebuked, questions about antibiotic ointment or socks to help animals heal, breeding, etc. all while no one looked at me in the eye. Also when I asked a question to the vet tech after the doctor left, he opened the door and answered saying he was "listening behind the door." This made me feel "watched." Just strange. I am a professional therapist and have a deep love and heart for animals, especially my animal but was made to feel as though I did not somehow. All I can say is that I felt very odd leaving there, I did not feel comfortable. I never write reviews unless I really feel that I should. I just feel to share that this Vet seems like a strange and expensive vet office. I will not return.

This guy didn't deserve to die. Misdiagnosis and unnecessary treatments x rays drugs. We took our cats for 20 years and gave these people 1000s of dollars . They bold faced lied to us , I called them on it and they couldn't face facts they let us down . We have GREAT NEW vet for remaining cats. All I asked was TRUTHFULNESS, but Dr Richard strung us along for more money needlessly . I just wish they'd have apoligized. These people REFUSE to admit they were wrong, and if you see, they try to blame the unsatisfied pet owners . I WAS IN OFFICE first visit, but CHOSE to leave because I can't stand LIARS I have BLOCKED THEM, and my wife is reporting to humane society . They are ARROGANT and greedy. I'm over it . And the word is out among all my animal owning friends so this sad scene is NEVER repeated

It is hard to state how much we like this vet. All vets are AMAZING, but these folks have systemic processes to make sure no matter when you visit or who you see, you will receive THE BEST service. I could not possibly be a more satisfied customer.

We brought our bunny Bella in for a second opinion. While there, the entire staff was very friendly, the place was EXTREMELY clean, and Dr. Dinon was kind, sensitive, and seemed very knowledgeable. Needless to say, they are now our go to vet, we highly recommend them!

Wow.. after looking at these reviews and patients complaining and concerns. I can’t believe I even considered this vet.
I did really like them, but if you’re more on the unfortunate side of life, they definitely aren’t the ones to see. They are super high on prices! I needed flea treatments for my dogs. Dogs that I had taken in from my father that passed. Being a widow mother of 4 is really rough. So I tried to order some flea meds for my dogs online the were half the price, they wouldn’t confirm the script for me. Now if you care about our pets as you say… why can’t you simply confirm them for me? Also they aren’t due for there check up until mid next month but because they want to charge me a ridiculous amount of money they said I can’t just get a 1 month prescription for my flea meds until I bring them in for their yearly visit! That’s bull! Florida fleas are so bad right now. Anyway… I won’t be back! If you notice they only respond when people have bad things to say…. But I don’t see any comments back to the people that showed appreciation!! It’s sad! Truly shows what type of people they are!

I took my cat Ceelo to see Dr Dinon at Loving Care Animal Hospital on Jan 3rd due to a weight loss, not eating, and diarrhea. Dr Dinon came in spoke to me briefly and the vet tech took Ceelo to the back for blood work, and a fecal test. While speaking with the doctor when I told them about the diarrhea I teasingly said I had to wash his butt and Ceelo did not like that. I would like to mention that this was the fifth or sixth time Dr Dinon had seen Ceelo since 2019, and there has never been an incident. When Ceelo was brought back I asked the doctor why they had not done a temperature. He replied that it was not necessary and that I said Ceelo did not like people messing with his rear end. I thought that was strange and also wondered how they managed to get a stool sample to do the fecal test but I took Ceelo, some metronidazole, and went home. Dr Dinon called with the results the next afternoon and said Ceelo had an infection. Unknow type, unknown where, but a shot of Convenia should do the trick. I rushed over and they gave him the shot. Days go by and Ceelo is not even a little bit better. Loving Care never called to check on Ceelo during this time. I am getting a sinking feeling so I made an appointment with one of our other vets (I have multiple cats, and multiple vets). The second vet immediately had the vet tech do a temperature, respirations, etc while they looked over the blood work. The vet then did a physical exam of Ceelo (Dr Dinon never laid hands on Ceelo). The vet then called in another vet to check the findings and revealed to me that there was a large mass in Ceelo's abdomen. With the size of the mass, the feel of the mass, his blood work, and weight loss it was almost certainly cancerous. The vet then went over all the options with me for treatment to include test, and surgeries. We chose the option of treating with prednisone to possibly shrink the tumor, keep him comfortable, and give him more time as long as he was not suffering. Dr Dinon at Loving Care $600 and his diagnosis wasn't even in the ballpark. I also was informed that Florida Statues governing veterinarians says they must TPR unless it would place them in danger. I would strongly advise you not to take your family pet/member to Dr Dinon or Loving Care in Largo if you can help it. I know I will not be going back there! Edit 1. TPR was not noted on the exam sheet but maybe you did those in the back room and neglected to write them down? As for Dr Dinon saying it could be a hidden intestinal cancer, etc? Not sure whom he was talking to but it certainly was not me. He did say a few other things on the phone ref bacterial infection but never was the word intestinal or cancer mentioned.

Unfortunate experience for my sick doggie.I have a dalmatian and if you know them they are anxious dogs. My baby does have high anxiety, but she's not an aggressive dog. She has a set of specific commands to help control her in anxious environments that we have worked very hard on. This process started with my vet back home years ago. Who helped me work with my dog when in these environments. When I first called to book the appt the lady was so nice and sympathetic. I gave her all the info about my anxious pet, her personality and what to expect. She was amazing and I was thankful that I was finding a vet that would be able to work with her again. It was such a reassuring feeling.I have to be involved in the exam because my dog will not allow anyone to physically hold on to her but me. With continuous reinforcement she can be touched, poked and examine but through the process she has to be reminded of her commands. We arrived and it was a nice facility. When we walked in my dog greeted a little boy and his dog sitting by the door. The lady at the counter was very sweet as she handed me the paperwork and had my dog step on the scale.Once completed we were called back shortly after. The lady asked some questions and I gave her the run down of everything going on. After she said she needed to take temperature. She advised she was going to have this other lady "hug" my dog while she took the temperature. I let her know that with my dogs anxiety she's probably not going to let them hug her and that I can hold her in place for them if they dont mind. She said they can't do that because of insurance reasons. I tried to explain that my dog is probably not going to let them and if I could be involved it would be less traumatizing for my dog. She said they won't allow it. (During this time the lady that is in charge of putting my dog into a hug is trying to get closer to my dog but my dog is tail tucked, ears back, side eyeing this lady. And this lady was just as nervous as my dog! My dog just allowing the lady to have enough reach to scratch under her chin. While any attempt to advance closer, my dog would move back. She tried to grab her a couple times but wasnt able to get close enough before my dog would retreat). So I'm told she will get the doctor and he can tell me the same thing.Dr. Richard came in and right away with a demeaning tone and manner advised that either they hold my dog or I can leave cause they have other patients. I said I was willing to give it a try. I tried to explain my dogs anxiety and commands to Dr Richard so they would be able to get her to settle to get close to her. He would not let me speak though. And just lectured on how they deal with dogs all day and know what they are doing. I tried to explain that I am confident in their ability to do there job its just how my specific dog reacts. But he wouldnt even allow me to say anything. He would raise his voice over mine to talk over and down to me.I really wanted to work out a care plan together. But unfortunately he had quite the pompous ego and wanted to argue. I was taken back a bit by the demeanor and that not even once with him did he allow me to finish any sentence before cutting me off and over talking me.Instead of us working together to provide the best care for the pet and not have any training set backs on where we are at today, he said this isn't going to work since he has other patients to see. I left there balling my eyes out and my dog on edge with this strange person trying to grab her. I just couldn't allow them to cause any mental trauma to my dog especially when it's unnecessary. For a quick vaccine or checkup for a normal dog this place would probably work. But as for the ability to work with and listen to their patients this is not the place for a sick or ill pets.Would not recommend for anxious pets It's not worth the health of our pet, whether is physical or mental to just be a number on the books.Noone is going to be our dogs voice so we have to be.

Dr. Dinon was very unprofessional after multiple bad experiences and asking for an extra copy of my receipt he told me he couldn't afford the extra cost of the paper. Never in my life have I been so unsatisfied. It's as if he doesn't charge enough for the paper, I'll donate.
