I noticed my card being charged from here and I've never been there in my life. I called on Friday and asked to talk to the manager and she told me he was out, but would leave him a message to call me Monday. Well Monday at 1pm I went down there and voiced my complaint. JAMES the manager came out and started accusing me of filling out the information online and tried to downplay the amount charged on my card 2 times saying only 10 dollars a month and then said I was only signed up for 28 dollars a month. I asked how come my card was charged the 188 dollars and he said it was past due amounts. I've never been here or given my info, he kept accusing me of putting my info online and when I asked to be refunded and cancel my membership he scoffed at me. I told him I was reporting him to the BBB and corporate and he laughed at me and said I was all signed in by documents and everything else. I asked to cancel my membership to which he used this time to pause and talk trash, I was very rude but it does not excuse being stolen from.

I love this gym! Clean, plenty of machines, great staff and cool people go here. Only giving it a 4 because the music in my opinion is is terrible and so loud no matter how loud I have my headphones I cannot drown it out.

I just love this gym!!! I have only been a member for 6 months but everything is amazing. The gym is so clean! The staff is always walking around wiping off equipment and the floors. The locker room was very clean as well. I just LOVE the Zumba classes with Kim and Lori. They are the best. I am so not coordinated and they made me feel welcome and encourage me to just keep moving. The ladies in the class are so friendly. It feels like a family! I used Jen as a personal trainer and loved her! If you want a nice friendly gym where everyone is there to encourage you along your fitness journey. This is the gym.

I would like to address James Burke’s remark about the inability to follow Get Fitness’s dress code. We checked with your front desk attendant for a dress code and she was not aware of one. We asked if our outfits were OK for the Gym and she stated they were in line with what other members wear at the gym. We contacted your assistant manager, who stated she had no problem with our Zumba outfits in the gym. You gave no reason for the membership to be revoked except “Inability to follow proper dress code”.Get Fitness’s Dress code in their Terms and Conditions members sign up to states ”Members are required to wear gym shorts with Tshirt or sweat suits….. No other clothing will be permitted without specific approval of the club manager“. Well it appears that this is not enforced uniformly at the Gym. Most females working out in Get Fitness are in Leggings, Zumba Attire, Sports Bras and even Booty shorts, all against the dress code!. Even the Get Fitness WebSite shows Instructors and members not adhering to the dress code! I would advise that if Get Fitness is not enforcing their dress code uniformly and only picking on certain people for not adhering to the dress code you could be discriminating against certain people especially if it is age related??Just another reason to stay away from Private Gyms, they think they are exempt from discrimination laws they make their own rules!!!I have been a member of Get Fit in Largo for over 7 years. During this time, I have observed the gym under 3 different management teams, and I’ve seen a drastic decline in the quality of the gym, and as a result, I have decided to cancel my membership. While it is commendable to see a family-run business, there have been noticeable issues, particularly with equipment upkeep and unprofessional management staff. The equipment seems outdated, unorganized and the cushions are often worn out with foam underneath showing and requires patching up.Management is void of professionalism and has vindictive tendencies. Specifically, James Burke, the owner’s son, has been extremely challenging to work with. Upon notifying Mr. Burke of my cancellation of membership, he was initially reasonable and offered to forgo the 30-day contractual requirement for the cancellation notice. However, after my wife (who has a shared sentiment of the gym) left an honest negative review on Google, he went back on his word. He billwd my credit card for the membership and directly admitted to that the review was the underlying reason on a phone call.As a potential gym-goer in the Largo area, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. Esporta Fitness offers a larger, cleaner, and more welcoming environment. They also have additional amenities such as a pool, sauna, and a more extensive variety of classes with certified instructors. I have also had a great experience with Crunch. It is important to note that this is the only gym I have had a bad experience in the area while sporting 3-4 different gym memberships over the past few years, so I don’t think you can go wrong if you steer clear of Get Fit. Another red flag is that they are not registered with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).Overall, I hope Get Fitness can address these issues for the betterment of its members and the community.

I made a fb post about the cleanliness of this gym on the equipment and after being a member at the gym for 10 years, my membership was revoked. I actually got a rash from the machines at this gym which is what I posted about. I was also told that my membership was revoked because people complained about what I wear and how I danced and that I danced in between songs at a dance class which doesn’t make sense because there are no dress code rules or rules against that so I assume it is because of my fb post about the rash and non cleanliness at this gym. I would highly recommend not going to this gym because obviously if they are kicking people out for the cleanliness of this gym, there are no plans to fix it any time soon if ever!!Update on James Burke’s comments: I did get a disgusting red bump itchy rash from their machines that I posted about on fb months earlier so he is not telling the truth. I had to use Ketoconazole cream to get rid of the rash which is prescription only! I always tell the truth!!

Can private Gyms break age discrimination laws and get away with it?? I would like to address Get Fitness's dress code that was used to single out an individual not adhering to the dress code while others members are not following the dress code, which may be considered age discrimination! We have been members of Get Fitness for 10 Years and never had any issues with the dress code. Evidently, the new owners think the dress code only applies to certain members and not others...? We checked with the frontdesk attendant for a dress code and she was not aware of one. We asked if our outfits were OK for the Gym and she stated they were in line with what other members wear at the gym. We contacted the gym's assistant manager, who stated she had no problem with our Zumba outfits in the gym.
