Excellent personalized attention, very friendly, from my arrival I felt well cared for, they are very professional, Ms. Kaitlyn Castro gave me the first evaluation, she was courteous and polite, then Dr. Dereck Morris examined my eyes and even though I am not very proficient English was good, they made themselves understood with me perfectly. Today, I just went and got new nose guards put on for my glasses done for free. The whole staff is truly great at the Largo mall location. I will compliment the speedy and friendly service everytime I go in there. Thank you all again for making my day!

Wow! What great service. Thank you Lisa for making sure my glasses were just right. Attention was given to all aspects of the visit. My insurance is not accepted by America's Best but I still use them to get the outcome I love!

The experience over all was sufficient - the exam went well, was timely, and simple enough from start to finish.
I mistakenly gave them my health insurance company’s information to which there were no feasible benefits. Tommy, the contact lense associate couldn’t appear any less interested. The membership would be better; over all, in his opinion. I told him the name of the vision insurance company I thought I had, since the health insurance clearly wasn’t correct. He disregarded that information with “We are out of network with them.” It didn’t seem as though there was any room to investigate further, by either of us. He just seemed annoyed, and our interaction was all of 5 minutes.
I paid for the membership & contacts… leaving slightly embarrassed that I have insurance and it’s useless? Not even worth checking into?
I was able to login to my insurance company’s website- only to see that I do have vision benefits and they have been used 2x at America’s Best in the past just last year. I returned to the store about 15 minutes later to request a refund & to pay for the exam. I no longer want (or need) the membership. The associates looked into said insurance, some of the out of network benefits do still apply.
$268 went down to $80.
Absolutely amazing customer service is wonderful when it happens, but not my expectation.
Asking a few extra questions to clarify information IS what I expect - especially regarding insurance/cost. It is disheartening to imagine what other customers have agreed to pay… perhaps by not knowing any better or assuming that the staff does.
I would probably recommend an internal audit & an inservice on customer care for that particular individual.

Lisa at the Largo Mall location helped me select the right glasses after explaining my issues with past frames. She was very very helpful, nice and never was pushy. She then took her time adjusting them just for my head. I appreciated that more than anything. Seems optical places in Florida just don’t give that type of service. At least the ones I been too. I tell them, I need a some adjustment, they take them back somewhere you not with them and adjust and say here. Don’t even look at your head and ears to see how they fit afterwards. So frustrating. Lisa was the first person did NOT do that. Plus… she saved me a lot of money because my budget was really tight. Thanks to her manger and her! She went above and beyond to help me out. I scheduled an appointment and I was literally late for 5 minutes and I was told they can’t take me in, Ridiculous. What a waste of my time.

I was very surprised at how pleasant my experience at this store was. There was no pressure, No one steered me toward the expensive frames, and my Technician was focused on me and my needs. She was very very helpful and extremely professional. I had several frames from which to choose, and she helped me pick the one that was most flattering. She also worked very hard to secure me the very best deal, combining my insurance company, benefits, and surprisingly low out-of-pocket costs. After seeing the finished product, I have to agree. The day I came to pick up my prescription lenses. The exam experience continued the store Manager was so friendly and helpful, did not rush me at all, answered all my questions, and was extremely personable. As a senior citizen, I value good service, and comfortable surroundings. My technicians name was DeAnn and the store managers name was Clary. If you’re ever in the Largo,FL area, Please consider using this Americas Best for your eyewear needs. PS, the typos are from voice dictation!
