Javier, a worker at the family store is not suited for the hospitality or the charity business. I brought my donation of two pairs of nice cowboy boots, five pairs of work pants and a computer to drop off at the Lakeland family store on Wednesday night. I arrived a three minutes past eight and there were people inside the store but no drop off box. Seeing there were people I figured they would appreciate my gift anyway so I opened the back of my car to unload the gifts and leave by the front door. Javier came out side in an aggressive manner and told me repeatedly that the store was closed. I tried to explain that I am leaving a gift. He did not care. He spouted forth more aggression. He took a picture of the license place on my car and further erupted with inappropriate behavior. Sad that such an individual like Javier is working at my favorite charity. I hope he gets some counseling for his anger.

I was treated with total courtesy and care as I wanted to donate a very nice sleeper sofa. They set up a time , check with me day before ,picked it up and the whole situation was smooth as it gets. They thanked me more then once and I knew it would help some family or individual. Thank you with the utmost respect and appreciation. Made a lot more space and didn’t care to sell it . Again ty 110% plus experience . ????Highly recommended and I did contact another donation service at 4 hours before there scheduled closing time and they didn’t get back with me till 2 days later plus. Their loss and the Salvation Army’s gain. So glad it worked out that way ??✊????? ?

The owner has meetings with you1 on 1 and what you tell her she will repeat it in the mandatory meetings she has for everyone. Think twice before you go there and everyone is not treated the same and they talk to you any kind of way.

I went to them about 15 yrs ago to help with my electric they denied me my lights got cut off it was horrible. I came to them now in 2022 because the homeless coalition told me to and said they would help the difference this time is I'm disabled and they still denied me. About 20 yrs ago my sister went to the salvation army store to get furniture because she was a single parent and had no furniture they tried to charge her 400$ dollars for a used couch that had holes in it. I was like no you can get a new couch and love seat for that much. I will never in my life donate or ask them for help ever again. They are not Christian people . They DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU or YOUR FAMILY.

1st let me say from the concerned receptionist who told me exactly what to do, to the patient and kind lady who reviewed my information and understood I was having difficulty because of my PTSD and I tend to forget things under stress. Although I was embarrassed and ashamed to ask for help with my electricity, at no time did anyone treat me with anything but compassion and honesty. If I didn’t hand in the right document, she was kind enough to help me look for it or write it down so I could know what to look for when I went home. I meant when I told her before leaving that I am truly grateful for their help. Thank you again.

Please, help them to help so many people, with clothes, furniture ... anything that you not need anymore but is still useful. Thank you.
