Beware: Overly Attentive Staff Can Spoil the Ross Experience
As a long-time Ross shopper, I used to relish the thrill of the hunt, scouring the aisles for hidden gems and incredible deals. Unfortunately, my recent visits have left me feeling more like a suspect than a valued customer.
The constant feeling of being watched by staff has become overwhelming. While I understand loss prevention is crucial, the current approach alienates honest shoppers. The last two times I've visited, I've felt targeted and uncomfortable, leading me to abandon my shopping trip prematurely.
On my most recent visit, I even left forgetting the very item I intended to buy – a rug! This wasn't due to lack of selection, but because the atmosphere made me just want to leave.
To top it off, upon reaching the checkout, the store manager made his way over, his conversation with employees filled with thinly veiled comments about "money" and a name I can only assume was meant for me ("Stacy"). This complete lack of discretion further solidified my negative experience.
Ross boasts fantastic deals, but at what cost? I wouldn't mind paying slightly more elsewhere to feel comfortable and respected as a customer. Until Ross reevaluates their approach to loss prevention, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
