I like this company I will give them five stars but I can’t and the reason I can’t, because they wasn’t truly honest with me, but the pay and equipment I was happy with it and I like my job I like the hands-on experience they will not hire me back because the way I quit. I wanted to be home with my family and they promised me two weeks out but they did not deliver. But it’s not a bad company. Tried to come back, but they will not hire me but that’s cool. I think they updated their information so new drivers would know what they’re getting involved with. And even though I do not work for the company. I still recommend them just because of the equipment and the pay .

Trucks around Leesburg FL drive way too fast. Truck was going at least 0 mph over in 35. Then 15 mph over in the 45. Way too fast and dangerous. See their trucks all the time driving waybtoo fast! They need to slow down or be reported.

The leadership at the company is a JOKE! They run all of your reports, offer you a job in writing, and tell you to go ahead and leave your current employer, and then last minute pull the job out from under you. The Director of Recruiting, Jesse Rosenbaum is a LIAR! If any perspective employees want proof I will gladly provide it in writing. I'm just a DM away. Not only did he single handedly ruin my chances at Oakley, but he smeared me so bad that my past employer doesn't want me back. He is as slimey as slimey gets. A former employee of Knight-Swift, that should say it all. Hey Jesse, how about you swallow your pride and just admit what you have done like a man of INTEGRITY would do? Did I mention I have a PERFECT record?

This review is limited to the orientation and training at Lake Wales. They will tell you all throughout orientation how they’re a family and how without you they don’t exist. Yet, they will also come across with the mentality that you’re just a steering wheel holder & you need to do as they say and not question anything or you’re just a trouble maker. The driver trainers that teach you pump training and take you out on real loads/deliveries are professionals. My trainer was Jose. He & Matt are the best. I give Oakley 2 stars because I was sent home (after successfully completing pump training), because I complained about the nastiness of the truck they assigned me. I wasn’t belligerent but pointed out it was nasty & smelled like an ashtray. They boasted all week during orientation how they go to great lengths to detail trucks before they were assigned. I guess the one they assigned me was overlooked. They did offer to ozone treat the truck for two hours, and when I respectfully pointed out I doubt that would do much to get rid of the odor, they booked me a flight home. Ozone machines don’t do much for cigarette smoke. This came just two days after the Ops manager told me face to face that Oakley was eager to make sure I was happy to every reasonable extent possible and that if I have any concerns to let him know. I would’ve been willing to work with them on the truck, perhaps even wait a few days for a cleaner truck. In the end, they gave me a no fuss plane ticket home so I didn’t even bother to appeal to them. In an era where companies are desperate to get drivers, you would think Oakley would be a bit more accommodating towards drivers who simply don’t want to live in a nasty truck for 2 weeks at a time. I spent two weeks in Lake Wales choosing Oakley over a competitor. Now I’m with a competitor and I wish I had not gone to Oakley to begin with. Everything about Oakley’s competitor from recruitment, orientation, training, accommodations during training, etc etc is way better. I did get my TWIC & I did get decent tanker training while at Oakley which I will now apply working for a larger competitor. Oh & Oakley will house you in a run down motel in Winter Haven during pump training. The hotel was full of people who actually call the hotel home, pot smoke filled the hallways day and night, loud noises at all hours from people who don’t seem to have a job, roaches, a ridiculous breakfast offering, and my ac didn’t work well. On your orientation week, you will be housed at the Holiday Inn. They move you out of the Holiday Inn claiming it’s too expensive to house you there during pump training.
