It was awesome, highly recommend adding breakfast buffet to your package (made to order omelets and lots to choose from for everybody) and doing valet parking. They also have a great coffee shop (best iced white chocolate mocha I've had), a BX for snacks and souvenirs and more with great and friendly staff, their restaurant Manginos was great too, tried the sandwiches to go one day and they were good to... I gave service a 4 because morning of departure on way back to room from breakfast stopped by front desk to have them send bellhop with cart for bags for gentleman to give me number and tell me I can call myself in my room... having worked in a hotel I thought "uhmmm that's why I came to your desk for you who are standing around without customers to call so they'll meet us there and I won't have to wait... but ok don't want to do your job, I'll do it"... all other service was great and accommodating just that one guy. But all and all great to be around my sisters and brothers who serve or have served and facility was nice, clean and patio was awesome!Rooms: Rooms were big, had table with chairs, pullout couch, patio with chairs, big bathroom and ceiling fan! Great room for long stay.Nearby activities: Walt Disney World within minutes, heated pool and lots of walking trails and outside and inside seating.Safety: Guard doing id checksWalkability: Lots of trails and wish I had some time to fish the ponds there.Food & drinks: Great food 3 of the four places they have onsite. Never got to try 4th place.Noteworthy details: The BX staff was great and helpful everyday we went in there, the baristas at cafe... you can tell they drink coffee cause all our coffee was awesome and you could taste the coffee (if you know what I mean)

Our room was a little dated. There were several items in disrepair and housekeeping did not clean thoroughly between guests. The broken items were repaired immediately after reporting, though maintenance left tools behind. Cleaning was not done to the standards I would expect from even a motel. For example, bathroom vent clogged with dust bunnies. They replaced a tiny, filthy, air filter but did not clean the vent. The shower head appeared to have a few spots of mold. Loved the resort, it just needed an update.

Rooms and facilities are excellent. My fiance has a serious phobia of birds, and the hilarious moment when we check in then open the patio door and are faced with 4.5 foot turkeys. There was no proper planning though to deal with the disney marathon and we were stuck for a little over an hour and almost missed our flight home. Overall good experience for the price tag.Rooms: Typical cleanliness of a modern hotel.Food & drinks: Evergreens bar and grill is open late and is perfect for if you missed dinner at the parks.

The issue is with the bus system and the management of the hotel. The bus drivers skip people they know were first in line when the policy is first come, first serve. The manager refused to resolve the issue and continued to allow this to happen. The manager also claimed there was more than one bus running the route which was false as the same driver came multiple times in a row.Edit: the staff has only gotten worse during our stay. Other bus drivers have yelled at members of our group and been very disrespectful. The management has done nothing to solve these issues and then the front desk staff gave the wrong key to two of our group so when one got locked out of their room the front desk tried to tell them they were in the wrong room. It was simply that the rooms for two of our group had been switched by the front desk staff that checked them in but they treated our party as though we had done something wrong.

They closed the slides at the kids pool early, which was disappointing as we rushed back from the Parks to get in the pool. Also, the bathroom could use and upgrade and a reconfiguration. The TP was hidden behind the door which you couldn't close very easily. But overall, wonderful place, great service, and the location can't be beat.

Waited a ridiculous amount of time at the ticket office they are slow and inefficient. No sense of urgency

I first went to shades of green back in the late 1980’s it was much smaller than it is now. I took grandchildren every year it closed for i think it was 2 years for renovations. When it opened again it was huge as it is now. The restaurants are magnificent. There’s one for every person who has a different taste for food. The children have so many different activities. The best part is the fees that you pay for the rooms go according to your rank, which I feel is the best thing that could happen to the military families. Unfortunately, I can no longer use it because I no longer have my ID card but I’m now 83 years old. My grandchildren have grown, but I would recommend it for all the military as well as the government workers that are eligible it’s a wonderful place. There is or at least was a priority list for rooms such as active duty , retired military and then government workers GS rating I believe. If you qualify, you should use the shades of green it’s convenient to ever place in Disney also early admission each day to a different park which is very helpful with childrenRooms: Very spacious lovelyNearby activities: Fantasy land and all the different parks are easy travel with transportation available from the hotelSafety: Probably the safest I thinkWalkability: Easy walk to monorailFood & drinks: Great you have a choice of grill type to fine dinning

We always have a great time at this hotel. This year we had a fall on the playground and my son had to get stitches. The pool staff was amazing and did an excellent job until the ambulance got there. A very kind front desk person helped me get back into my room when I locked myself out. The staff is just 100% all the time. The buses are convenient, the grounds are well maintained, there are numerous food options, and we will be back!

Stayed here for a few days while visiting Disney World. Pretty large property with a couple of wings. We had a family suite which had 4 beds and 2 bathrooms. That was a plus.We ate at 2 restaurants on property, which I'll do separate reviews. The Garden Gallery was a disappointment and waste of my money. We ate our food on the patio right outside of the hotel lobby. It was beautiful and the weather was perfect. They offer shuttle services to the theme parks, so check the schedule for the specific pick-up times.Overall, it's a well maintained property.

You cannot beat the price for what you are getting. It's not the nicest hotel (2-3 stars) but when you look at the price and everything outside of the dated rooms it's totally worth it.

All of the quality and amenities of a Disney resort but in an alternate universe where everything is cheaper and easier. I prefer this resort to any other Disney resort for more reasons than just the incredible price.

Just returned from Shades of Green and I was disappointed. The location is wonderful and the price is right but that doesn't mean the room should be substandard. The first shower I took was cold. I complained to the staff (three times) but nothing was done. They said maintenance was looking at it. The second shower I took was lukewarm. The other problem with the room was a strange noise. I heard a noise at all times of the night. It sounded like a jet cutting through the sky and was very loud at times. I told staff about the noise and nothing was done. Try a new room maybe? Nope...The problems were reported by staff to supervisors but they did nothing. The food was great and the staff was nice. Shades of Green is falling apart and the Army should start updating the resort. This facility should not be compared to Army barracks problems but has similarities to whats going on across the Army with upkeep and maintenance issues. I had a message waiting on my room phone. I listened to the recording and it said that if i had any issues they would be happy to assist (I paraphrase) but they did nothing to assist except provide excuses.

Decor is in much need of updating & facelift, not very visually appealing inside but has great space layout, could be gorgeous if spiffed up. Staffing attitudes vary hot & cold. POSITIVES tho: good sized rooms, lovely outdoor grounds & location. Being military its guests are quiet, respectful; convenient bus rides provided to parks, has benefit of tax-free discounted rates, vary based on your military service but good. We are Grateful.
