after 7 years of using this storage facility the owner passed away and sold it to these people, my rental has gone from 100 dollars a month to almost 200. They have no amenities like a bathroom, security, etc. my storage wasn't even climate controlled if it's even offered. I have no idea what the reason is for such an increase. They started a website so you can pay on line, of course with an additional fee of almost 5 dollars. I can't get my things out of there fast enough. Haven't been there since my belongings were put in there but my sister and husband stopped by and took some pictures & it appears someone has been in there and some of my things are gone. Apparently the new owners are all about the money. There's a new storage facility company being built in town and if you're interested look into it. I don't recommend Lake area storage at all.

Used to be a five star rating as the previous owner and staff who have passed away were very nice. This is a very basic facility with no security gate, day time electric is turned off and no bathrooms. I was paying a reasonable rate of $114 so $123 with tax. I can find this rate at a coupe of other similar facilities. I just received a letter saying my new rate will now be $194! That is a monthly increase of $70 which is an EXTRA $840 A YEAR effective next month! I don't behoove then cost of expense raise but $70 EXTRA especially for an older outdated facility I feel is excessive. So do your price shopping at other facilities too before you commit to renting here.
