I really do appreciate that this place exists but some things really need to change.
Usually around 9am the woman would hand out numbers to everyone then people would go find shade until time to come in. One time numbers were given out at 8:30am and she usually asks who was here to make sure to stay in order.
The last two times no numbers were given out until she let us in and it is extremely hot out with no shade. Also this time she just opens the door and says get a number instead of even handing them out? So of course people cut in front of me and took numbers?
There really should be order, structure and routine. Homeless and less fortunate already have a hard enough time without this kind of treatment.
Also once inside she keeps hurrying people along and you can't even take a few minutes to try to find clothes that will fit. They are all hanging out of order or obviously you need to look inside at the size. Why are we being rushed?
Then once in the food section someone helps you but they never know how many of each item you can have and you are also rushed very fast.
Again I really appreciate this place but we deserve to be treated with respect.
Today 6-5 I get here at 7:45am and they are already handing out numbers and I'm somehow #7 at 7:45am? I am here at this time every Wednesday and I am always within the top three.
Ten minutes before opening at 9:30am a guy walks up and she hands him #5.
I ask why when I was here at 7:45am and she goes off on me saying she will fing do numbers how she wants and next time she won't give me a number. She said her name was Santana. Complete wrong and racial discrimination.

Very nice people there. Food selection varies day to day and quantities. Co.e early for best selection. Usually nice produce, breads, meat sometimes and dairy.

I worked here as a summer vista and was wowed by the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. SOS excels at providing hundreds of balanced and healthy meals to Florida residents everyday!

This is an outstanding organization that works with children on nutrition education, provides a weekly food pantry and numerous other benefits to the Florida Keys residents. Highly recommended!

I currently work for this wonderful organization, which aims to ensure every citizen of Monroe County has access to healthy, fresh foods. We operate food pantries, distribute food, and teach nutrition education classes with children throughout the Florida Keys. Utilizing the Tower Garden, we've been able to grow fresh herbs/vegetables and make healthy foods together, ultimately teaching children from a young age to pay attention to the foods and drinks they're putting in their bodies.

I have toured this place once, and also on a seperate occasion seen first hand the impact this organziation has on Key West. The volunteers and employees work tirelessly each day to create meals for various parts of the Key, and only with a good attitude. This foundation is one of the most selfless, kind, and hardworking one I have ever seen!

I worked at SOS as an AmeriCorps VISTA for a year and love the organization. SOS does so much for Monroe County, and it's all done the right way! From the food pantries to the Community Kitchen, all of the SOS employees and board members are trustworthy and hard-working. I've seen the impact that SOS makes in the community and couldn't support the organization more!
