BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL. Took forever to get a response. Made an appointment then at 9:28 pm with zero reason said she didn’t feel comfortable working with me ( never met me yet) and canceled. All this happened after she asked for my full name And saw I was Hispanic. Only reason I can see is a race issue she has. Silly because she is losing business by discrimination. Got to be kind to other and treat us all the same.

Courtney shaved my sideburns really short and really low to my skin which made them look bare. All without asking me. She's not one to really listen to what the client wants. Also she highlighted my hair and didn't let them process long enough so I have to get them redone. They look very yellow/gold. My hair is already light so it's just impatience, lake of skill, a mistake etc. Also she didn't cut my hair short enough. My hair didn't look anything like the picture I showed her.

I've had a very horrible experience with Courtney the owner at coco plum island salon. Long story short she's not passionate about making the client happy, does what she wants to your hair and isn't good at what she does sorry to say. Maybe she's ok with easy cuts and things but if you have thick/curly hair and want a layered hair cut STAY AWAY!!!!!! Now for the long story! First off I've had bad haircuts! Also I'm a nail tech and have a bit of knowledge on what's bad/good from being in that environment. First I texted Courtney in detail exactly what I wanted with picture examples. I had about 5 inches of root to my hair and just wanted a full head of highlights. She didn't let my hair process long enough and it turned out gold. I've been getting my hair bleached for over 10 years. That's not what happens. She then explains it's going to take another full foil to get it light..... then she cuts my bangs horrible! Nothing like the photos. First she cut them to my under eye lid. Then I said they needed to me shorter and she cuts them an inch above my eyebrows after I said to cut them at my eyebrows!!!!!! There's nothing left on the sides of my bangs she shredded them!!! I asked for her to keep my bangs long enough on the sides to fit behind my ears and that I wanted them cut just below my cheekbones but there are pieces cut above my eyebrow all the way on the sides!!! And then for the overall cut all of my layers are disconnected and chunky looking like she just didn't take the time to blend them in good or is not good with razors/thinning shears. After I told her politely all this. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and asked to pay for another consultation so we can get on the same page. she then basically told me she doesn't want to work with me anymore!!! I can't believe after giving her over 400$ with tip she wouldn't offer to fix my hair even with me offering to pay!! Moneys not an issue I wanted to work with her on her mistake. Then I go to another salon in Islamorada who tell me my hair is horrible!! Theres a piece of hair she cut so short in the back of my hair that it won't go even into a semi low ponytail. And I specifically told her no layers below my collarbone in the texts!!! The other salon said Courtney cut way too much off around my face and basically shedded it! Not to mention the horrible blonde job! How do you call yourself a blonde specialist and do this to my hair???

I have been to 6 different salons trying to get a cut and color that I had before. I always brought a picture of me with the cut so they can see what it looks like. It is a very easy face frame cut, but for some reason, none of the salons I have been to cut it that way until CocoPlum Island Salon. I was so impressed with Courtney! She listened, asked a lot of questions, and then cut my hair exactly the way the picture showed. The highlights she put in were fabulous! Can't say enough good things about this salon and Courtney. A lovely experience. I enjoy that the shop is small so it's not chaotic and feels more relaxing. I went in for a trim and mentioned I was considering curtain bangs. Courtney gave me the confidence I needed to go with that specific cut and im happy I stepped out of my comfort zone! Definitely a relaxing and kind experience. 5/5

Highly over priced for the service and skill set she actually has. Great if you want to show up and look exactly like everyone one of her other Clients. Skip it wait for the mainlan, unless you want orange hair.

Courtney was really awesome. Quick to text me back and get me in for the short week I was in town. I have pretty long thick grown out colored hair (dark)with red pigmentation and I wanted to make a change and go lighter. Courtney didn't set my expectations to being unrealistic in what can be accomplished in one setting yet she kept it real and told me what would likely be outcome and it would be beautiful and each time I go in to salon in future it will slowly get to a Blonde color. Not once did I feel Courtney couldn't handle my request. She went back mixed up some bowls and got started. She listened to me babble on about my kids/family for the next couple hours and was so sweet just chatting. I've been in salon chairs and tried making convo (I'm a talker)with other stylists and it's so cold conversation with no reaction/responses so when you go into a place like here you'll feel comfortable to chat if wanted or just listen to her awesome Playlist.I was told most clientele are locals and regulars but I want to speak to traveling visitors and locals in saying you should give Courtney a try and trust her with your hair. It can be scary going to new stylist as I know I travel all year around the United States but Courtney never gave me vibes to be scared because shes confident and delivered great results. Will be back, probably in a year

Courtney did an amazing job of making sure i got what i wanted! When i got my hair colored darker so that my natural color blended when it grows out she gave me a gorgeous dark blonde color, and when i still felt like there was a line from my roots, she immediately offered for me to come in again to get it fixed exactly how i wanted it at no extra charge and she did a fantastic job! Love her!
