I had a wonderful experience going to Mama’s for the first time this past Saturday. Keith helped me in the nursery, I was in desperate need of new plants. Iguanas completely devoured all of my landscaping I recently had installed. I mean ALL. He was so patient with me, he listened to colors, size and even textures of plants and leaves I liked and disliked, but also kept in mind my serious iguana problem. He helped me pick out several plants and flowering bushes iguanas do not like, but also ones that fit the aesthetics of my backyard.
The staff inside was tremendously helpful, especially the lovely lady working the counter. They have beautiful planters inside, which will go lovely with my new lemon tree!
Finally, my plants were delivered first thing Monday. The crew who delivered, particularly Zane, were very communicative and friendly. All around it was a wonderful experience with each member of the staff, and I will absolutely be back many times in the future.

I don't know who 'Mama' is, but she is no good. My friend was delivering some goods to Key West - you know it's a long drive down the Keys. But then his big rig truck died, kaput, just outside Mama's. It was 90 degrees and he had his three legged dog with him that desperately needed water. He went inside Mama's Garden Center to get some water for this poor pup. You know what the front desk lady told me:" Get out of here, you can't park here and we don't care about the dog." It was so sad. The front desk lady is terrible. We had to hitchhike down the road to a Shell station where they were able to help us.I should have learned my lesson. But then I wanted my house landscaping redone. I only knew of Mama's but that was a massive mistake. They told me they could draw up a landscaping plan and it would cost $475 to do so. Someone from Mama's came out to my house and I was told to contact Mama's in a few days. When I did, they said the cost for the plans was actually $15,000! They said the service charge was $475 to drive 5 minutes down the road and just to get some blueprints was $15,000. Insane. My house is tiny - it's a 2 bedroom and I have about 2,000sqft of garden space. These lunatics say it's going to cost $15,000. For $5,000 I got someone from Miami to come down, give me a bid and install all the trees. Mama is a bad lady; she's mean, unhelpful, a scam artist and downright a terrible gardener.

Nice place to get plants for the yard. Staff inside could be friendlier.

I felt the plant selection was limited and they were out of granite gravel. At checkout, I felt like I was bothering the lady working inside. Key West lacks a real nursery....

Don't expect them to honor their 6 month guarantee. In our case we spent $14,000 on plantings in February, lost about $1,000 in plants three months later and were told by the owner we underwatered just at the end of the guarantee period.I had an onsite visit by the University of Florida Extension Service and had a conversation with a Master Gardener Volunteer who both suggested the cause could have been either stress or overwatering early on.I contacted the owner several times to request a visit in February, March and April with no success.

A big thanks to Tammy and Elizabeth and the whole crew for being so helpful. Even the delivery drivers were great. What a difference freshening up the property made. Definitely recommend Mama’s!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Terrible customer service, and outrageously high prices! I bought two plants from these folks. One was a 30-gal three-cluster Adonidia Palm tree and I paid them $300 for it. I later found out that's the highest price in Key West. At Home Depot they had the same tree, only larger, for only $189. The other was a "15-gal Croton, assorted." (also would have been cheeper at Home Depot). I originally purchased them in September. When I did, the nice young lady outside put a white tag on both and said it would be noted on my purchase order that they were tagged for me. I then asked to have them planted. They told me they'd put me on the "pop up" list since it was a small job, and add it to another job when they could. Over the next FOUR MONTHS, I received only two last-minute calls, both when I was at work, asking if I was available immediately, which I was not. When I went in to inquire again in January they told me I showed that I owed money, I advised them I had the receipt showing paid in full. They advised they would put me back on the pop-up list. To which I replied "No, I've been told that for four months already." So I arranged to have it delivered the following Monday. On Friday they called and told me they were loading the truck for immediately delivery. So much for taking Monday off work to be home for the delivery. I was able to get away and arrived at home at the same time as the delivery truck. Good thing too because they delivered THE WRONG PLANTS. The tree was similar, but not the one I'd chosen four months prior. It was close enough so I let that slide. But the Croton they delivered was not even close. I asked the deliver guy about the plants with white tags on them, he said there weren't any. THEY SOLD THE PLANTS I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR! I told the guys to take the Croton back, then the delivery man asked me to sign showing delivery. I said NO, I'd meet them at Mama's and get the correct plant. When we got to the lot the plant I'd previously chosen was also gone. Fortunately there was a single broad leaf Croton on the lot. The lot man picked it up and put it in my truck. I went inside to advise them of the mistake, and the woman at the counter said she'd have to check to see if I owed more money?! WTAF?! I told her I was paid in full, and received the plants I'd purchased. Bottom line, TERRIBLE customer service and outrageously high prices! Find ANYONE else to buy your plants from, and to have them planted!

I was really disappointed in their garden plant selection. Just stuff any place carries in a messy way. The best part was their pot selection. They did have some cute pots and some beautiful ones. I would not go back or recommend anyone stopping if you are looking for plants.
