We had the pleasure of taking a kayak tour with Ellen. Great information, nice boats and paddles and some of the coolest paddling through several mangrove forest I've ever done. Highly recommend this company. I'd definitely do it again. Thank you Ellen!!

Just do this when you go to Key West...It's pretty much for everyone. Ask for Bret. This guy did a terrific job and really made everyone in the group feel relaxed. His narrative was great and full of interesting and fun facts. If you're a novice you will do fine.Do yourself a favor and talk to the strangers around to lighten the mood.So much fun

What a great experience! Kayaking in the mangroves was fantastic. Going through the tunnels was tough at times, but once you got the hang of it actually pretty easy. Our guide, Ellen was wonderful. Friendly and knowledgeable and from Indiana. Hearing how she got to the Keys was great too. She taught us a lot. Don't miss out!!!

So glad we booked this last minute adventure!! Even though the water was not super clear from the heavy winds and currents Heather still made the trip out so fun. She is so knowledgeable about the area, critters and was a great guide. Price was fair and kayaks were nice.

This was an epic little day trip. We had Ellen as our guide with a fantastic group of funny humans. We saw sea stars, jellyfish and even got guided back to the doc with a mama and her baby manatee! Totally worth it and don't be a fool like us, get there a few mins early! Thank you lazy D!

What a fun adventure! We took a 2 hour eco tour starting at 2 pm. I was leery as I have never kayaked before and I anticipated landing in the water, etc It was a breezy 70 degree day and there were no issues whatsoever. Our tour guide (Coley?) was very knowledgeable about the animals and fish that live in the area and provided answers to any questions without hesitation. Our group consisted of maybe 20 people in two and one man kayaks and had people of all skill levels. We saw manatees, tons of nurse sharks, pelicans, osprey, and iguana. It was truly remarkable.

Great experience yesterday doing a 2 hour kayak group tour with our group of 10 through the mangroves with John. John was a friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable guide who shared a ton of info with us about local wildlife, the ecosystem and architecture. We even got to see 2 manatee up close and personal which was a treat. John was very accommodating with our many questions too, including offering some great restaurant recs which we checked out (they were great places to eat!!). The kayak trip ended up being a good workout on the way back in since it was really breezy and we were coming in against the wind. Highly recommend and if you get John, you're lucky!

We never felt rushed. All abilities and comfort levels were accommodated. Highly recommend this company. Easy to access. A great memory of our trip to Key West.

We had an amazing time with our guide Ellyn! She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, explaining and showing us various birds, jellyfish, Portuguese man of war, manatee, nurse shark, and the mangrove trees! We also saw historical buildings and learned about the keys' past. Many of us and Ellyn were also picking up floating trash as well! It was pretty fun to kayak through the mangrove tunnels, would highly recommend for those who want to learn about the local wild life and history of the area.

We did a two hour guided tour with Ellen and aisle (cutest pup ever !) what an experience! We not only enjoyed ourselves but we learned so much in such a short amount of time. We were hesitant to book as we were a large group in town for a wedding and was worried about timing and being too tired for the party. This excursion while being slightly athletic was the perfect combination of sporty and lazy. Our group has already planned to come back and rebook with Ellen and hopefully Isla too ! Definitely book for a fun experience

While in Key West, we wanted to go kayaking. Lazy Dog Adventures rents kayaks and paddleboards and is dog friendly. So that was where we went. When we arrived, a friendly staff member behind the counter greeted us. And two sweet doggos came around the corner and greeted us and our dog as well. We signed the waivers while another staff member got us ready for some kayaking. Then, he showed us a map of where we can take the kayak. If we ever got lost, we can call the phone number on the map for help. Then the staff member pushed our kayak into the water and we were off! As we kayaked toward the mangroves, we saw a LARGE monitor lizard, probably 4 - 5 ft long, just walking slowly on the shore. It was cool since we were not expecting to see one. We paddled on and saw a sign outside the mangroves about gators being federally protected. We didn't think much of it and paddled into the mangroves. Inside the mangroves, the water was shallower, it was difficult to maneuver our paddles since any large movements would cause us to hit the mangroves. And if your paddle got caught in the mangroves, you could flip the kayak. So, we paddled very cautiously. A log resembling a gator's head startled us. Thankfully, the water is clear enough to see what's swimming beneath, and there was no gator. We paddled on until we reached a dead end and turned back around exiting the mangroves where we entered. As we paddled back the way we came, we saw the staff member who got us ready earlier and a couple kayaking and paddleboarding. They had dropped their phone in the water while taking pictures, and the staff member was super nice to come to their rescue. He went above and beyond, diving into the water, searching for this phone. After a few attempts, he found the phone! Thankfully there was no gator in the water! My husband and I kayaked for a bit more with our dog before heading back on land. Some parts of the waters are definitely yuckier than others, but we were dressed for the occasion. I have to say it has been an eventful adventure. Upon disembarking our kayak, we got to speak with the staff member who saved the couple's phone. We asked him about the gators section, and he said once in a while, you might see one, but they are rare. I was pretty relieved to hear that because I wouldn't know what we would do if we did see one. Before we left Lazy Dog Adventures, we were given a 10% coupon to eat at Hurricane Hole, the restaurant next door. While we hadn't plan to eat there initially, we were now enticed to use this coupon! Overall, the staff members were super nice and really took good care of their customers. If you ever feel like going kayaking in Key West, I'd highly recommend Lazy Dog Adventures.
