Ok. When I rented bike I was told that first day was $20 and each additional day was $12. After first day I told them I wanted to keep it an additional four days. They said I had to start over and there was no $12 deal. However I could rent the bike for $75 a week but they couldn’t give me credit for the day already rented. The employee called the boss who refused to talk to me. Bait and switch. Rent from We Cycle.

@Michael Niemeier & @ Amanda Peters, a disgruntled match made in Heaven. Didn’t keep your receipt? It’s easy to be facetious when you’re not there in person. Misinformation in a review for what purpose? Let’s fact check your bs. When was the last time you rented anything and weren’t given a time frame? If you weren’t listening or have a problem with simple comprehension, ask for it in writing. Like what’s on the rental paperwork you signed. Funny how you are the only negative people in the reviews. On vacation, drank too much, forgot about the rental. I’m sure they don’t need your $20, big baller ????

9-26-2022 - Key West was our first stop on an Eastern Caribbean cruise. I researched bike rentals ahead of time and found this business conveniently located on the cruise ship pier, you literally walk right past it. It's a small white shed type of structure with a window. The rental process was quick & easy. You sign your waiver and pay (rental fees were very reasonable). I believe you can also reserve on their website ahead of time. A hurricane was on its way to the area so I chose to wait until the day we arrived to rent. All the bikes are lined up on the bike rack a few feet away. They all looked to be in great condition, each one had a basket and a lock included. It wasn't very long before we were on our way. Pre-cruise. I made a list of places I wanted to see in Key West, it helps to be prepared. Some of the stops we made were: Fort Zachary Taylor, Southern most point, Edward Knight pier, lunch at Old Town Mexican cafe, Hemingway house, Key West Lighthouse, Maritime museum, Sculpture garden and more. Bike racks are located all over town. Every place we stopped there was a convenient spot where we could lock our bikes up. We found a CVS, made some purchases and our bike baskets came in handy at that time. It was so easy to get around the city streets are very bicycle friendly, even the drivers were courteous and friendly to the bicyclists. It was the best day, we stayed out until the very end. Loved the freedom to quickly move around the city and also enjoyed some great exercise to balance out all the cruise food. We had a perfect day. We were the last bikes to be returned that day. We went back to the white shed on the pier and no one was there which was a little confusing at first, but then we read the note on the window that said to go to the coffee shop a few steps away to return the keys. Easy rental return and we were back on the ship quickly.

Key West is an amazing place to explore by bike, especially if you are getting there by a cruise ship like us. Island Bike Rental was an amazingly easy/friendly place to rent bicycles for a very reasonable cost (and no hidden fees). Each bicycle comes with a convenient basket and heavy duty lock (and helmets if you desire). There are plenty of bike racks all over the island. Their booth is right on the the cruise pier, so it's a 2 min walk as soon as you disembark. Thanks Island Bike Rental for a great experience. We will definitely be looking you up the next time we are in town!!

We rented bikes here on our recent visit to Key West. Walked off our cruise ship and Island bike rentals is conveniently located right there on the pier. The owner, a lovely woman, gave us great tips on places to see and places to eat. So helpful as this was our first time in Key West. The bikes were great and we had the perfect day. We easily returned our bikes at the end of the day and walked right back on the ship. If you plan on renting bikes in Key West Island Bike Rental is definitely the place to go!

Island Bike Rentals was wonderful! My sister and I rented two bikes when we stopped on our cruise - location was convenient and right beside where we docked. Ariaana was polite, accommodating, and gave us great suggestions for where to ride around! The bikes are definitely the best way to see Key West for a quick visit. Will definitely use again when I come back.

Island Bike Rental goes the extra mile! The employees including the owner will take the time to explain the island and where to go to maximize your stay. For those who claim the bikes are rusty, they clearly do not know island life. Everything gets rusty and rusty fast. The owners change out bikes constantly to keep up with the best look they can for the fleet of bikes. The owner truly cares about providing the best experiences.

Very friendly and helpful staff who took the time to show places of interest on the island and advise as to some of the local stores and eats. Reasonably priced for a fun day of exploring and getting some exercise to boot. The bikes are comfortable and come with locks. Tons of bike racks around the island so you can lock up and walk around too. Much safer than mopeds especially if you’ve never ridden one if you ask me. Best way to cover more ground than trying to walk in the heat. Would definitely recommend this place

RENTERS BEWARE!!!!TLDR: if you rent with them and they accuse you of stealing their bike, you have literally no recourse even if you personally returned the bike to the same person you rented it from. Cruisers especially beware—they will call the Port Authority on you and jeopardize your ability to get back in the ship—even if you did return the bike.Full story: This rental is located right off the cruise ship dock in Key West—it’s the first one you will stumble upon and looks like a little booth with bikes locked up around the corner.I was on a cruise that docked right by here so we rented a couple bikes. Both bikes were old, mine was flat (not flat enough to ride but flat enough to make riding difficult), with rust on the bike basket. We brought our bikes back at the end of the day, but no one was in the hut to return to we waited several minutes until the girl we checked them out from returned. We explained to her the tires needed to be pumped and that someone had taken the numbered return slot of my boyfriend’s bike so we had to use a different slot. She listened and then we personally handed her our keys. End of transaction, or so we thought. Flash forward a day, we dock at our next stop and I finally get service. I have a terse voicemail from Island Bike Rental rudely asking where I left their bike. I immediately call back. The woman who answered was the same who left the voicemail but different than the person we checked bikes out from. She started chewing me out from the second she realized I was returning her call, accusing me of never showing up to drop off my bike and stealing their bike. I explained we had a full blown conversation with the girl who took our keys and to ask her. This woman refused to speak to the girl and something along the lines of “She said she never spoke to you.” I asked if they were getting me confused with someone else, as I definitely returned that bike, and she said it was definitely me. Then she asked what bike number I had, which wouldn’t make any sense if she knew I had allegedly taken the bike?? She finally says she’ll walk to the rack to look for the bike then said it definitely wasn’t there and that there would need to be action taken. I told her to keep looking for the bike and I would check in later because again, I had no reason to steal that beaten down old bike while on a cruise in a tiny stateroom where it most definitely wouldn’t fit lol.Later that day we get flagged by security while trying to get back on the ship. We are notified there was a message for us concerning the Port Authority (PA) and an “incident” that happened in Key West. We go to guest services and are notified the woman I had been speaking to called PA to report me having stolen the bike along. I explained I had never stolen anything and I returned the bike back to them directly. So while guest services called the PA, I called Island Bike Rental back. And got the same woman with a 100% completely different tone of voice. The Island Bike Rental woman’s voice was saccharine and extremelyy apologetic as she DID find the bike. Turns out, and this is in her words as I would never speak about one of my employees this way, the girl working there is extremely young and it was her first day, and she was working alone, and she just didn’t know what she was doing. She did rent the bike to someone else, which is why it wasn’t in the rack. I told her that didn’t excuse the tone she took with me or the accusations she made against me without even hearing my side of the story (which I had to push to tell her). She flat out accused me of something I didn’t do, without proof or doing her due diligence of looking through rental slips. She could have even looked for the key to see if it was there. Instead she was hostile to me and impacted our vacation, making us take excessive time talking to her and the PA to deal with this nonsense, WHEN SHE HAD THE BIKE ALL ALONG. Also, why have such a young girl working alone when she has not been trained?? Avoid this place like the plague. Many rental shops further inland.

They called and screamed at one person in our group for not returning her bike, when she was on her way to return it and we were never given a deadline for returning bikes (therefore didn’t realize they needed it back at a certain time?). They called and screamed at another person in our group a day later, accusing her of stealing a bike which she had returned in-person and which they later realized they had since rented out. Both said the manager (?) woman they were speaking with was rude, condescending, accusatory, and aggressive right off the bat even though neither person had done anything wrong.Bikes are run down. The check-out process was time consuming. It seems like this place is very unorganized and can’t keep track of what they’re renting/receiving.This is the first bike rental off the cruise ship docks. I highly recommend you walk just a little bit further to find a legit company that won’t hassle or accuse you without warrant. You’re on vacation; don’t waste your time or money to get screamed at.

Bikes are indeed old but nobody wants to steal them.I got a flat tire halfway into my full day rental. I called them and someone came out with a new bike for me right away. I was thoroughly impressed and relieved my short trip wasn't ruined by a flat.

I am a local Key West resident from 20 years and I have bought several bikes over the years from Island Bikes and spent several thousand dollars over that time. A few weeks ago my wife had a flat tire and I took her bike to Island Bikes to have it repaired. They fixed it but a week later the same tire went flat again. When I took it back there the employee who met me outside their little compound was very rude. He said "we can't help you because we are too busy". When I explained they just repaired my bike last week, he said "flats happen all the time, so take it somewhere else". This was the rudest sales person I have ever met in my life. I will never go back there. The I took it to Eaton Bikes and they were so helpful and friendly. My bike was ready in a few hours. When the tourists are all gone, these guys at Island Bikes are going to have a tough time staying in business with this crew they have.

Didn’t have the best experience with this bike rental. We got assisted with the lady at the Gator Coffee shop nearby who was also doing the bike rentals for Island Bike Rental. We rented two cruisers and decided to extend our rental until the next day to enjoy as well. The bikes we received were absolute junk. The lady even said that they are “beater bikes”. It was the most uncomfortable bike we’ve ever rode. All of the parts were rusty and bent. They were incredible hard to pedal and required a ridiculous amount of force to just do even a little cruise on flat ground. We also rented two bikes and were only given one bike lock for them both that was not long at all. So the two places we biked to, we spent ten minutes trying to figure out how to fit the bikes in a close enough spot to be able to wrap the lock around and lock in place. The lock was also extremely rusty and had to be forcefully opened with the key to unlock. The bikes caused for a very unenjoyable time, which was supposed to be part of the relaxing day we had planned. We decided to return the bikes only a few hours after renting them. The lady from the Gator Shop seemed very annoyed that we were bothering her because we had no idea where to park the bikes or sign to return them. She gave no instructions and worked on other things while I was needing direction for the return. Along with that, she never once offered a refund to us to amount for the time we actually had them instead of the additional day we did not have them for. I thought that it was very rude how short she was with us and how she didn’t even offer or ask why we were returning them so ahead of what we rented them for.Bikes are absolutely junk and their customer service is too. I’m not entirely sure if the lady from the coffee shop usually assist with the bikes or if this was just a temporary thing. There’s plenty of other options on the island for bike rentals. Check them out instead

Had a great time! You pass them walking off the cruise ships and they were super friendly and gave a ton of advice and circled things on the map for places to see. She gave a few tips on best beach places, food, and etc.. A relaxing day biking around and seeing Key West for myself!
