Very charming, fun, whimsical property guaranteed to put you in a good mood! Staff is friendly and helpful, and the decor and vibe is definitely Havana with nice painted murals, festive colors, whimsical surprises everywhere, and Salsa music playing. There's a cool tiki hut area for weddings and events which is why I stopped in since I get inquiries for weddings here. LOVED the pool! There are bigger rooms available, but the ones I saw were small yet charming. Highly recommend you visit!
Rooms: Charming but some are a bit small.

Nice hotel, sadly spoilt by the continual loud music by the pool. From 9am till 11pm it is constant blaring Cuban style music, which I had to complain about to the girl on the desk, who eventually went off in a huff to.lower the volume a bit.
If you like your holidays like you are sitting in the middle of a disco, then go ahead and book it, if not, then stay well clear.
Such a shame because this place as an adult only hotel, could be great.

The only reason we gave a four star is for the price. Super expensive but fun and felt like being in Cuba. They were pet friendly which is always a plus.

The place was clean and well kept. The location is perfect, close enough to Old Town and there is a shuttle to help save on costs of parking. The staff was friendly and have a great sense of humor. The food truck also had yummy dishes. This place is perfect for relaxing and just enjoying the Keys.

A nice boutique hotel in Key West with a wonderful tropical vibe and aesthetic at an affordable price. Or at least it’s not overtly expensive like other resorts and hotels in the area.
The food and drinks were great, the pool and lobby were a vibe and the rooms were comfortable.
Also, the shampoo, conditioner and body wash supplied by the hotel smells absolutely great, like seriously. It’s like a key lime and coconut scent or whatever but I was always in a good and refreshed mood after I would take a shower.

I booked a stay at this hotel through Expedia, and unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. Upon our arrival, we were charged a resort fee and a deposit total $235, which was supposed to be reimbursed at check-out. However, when we checked out, they claimed that the deposit and resort fee that we paid was actually an additional charge for our stay, that they have problem in their system and didn't receive payment, despite us already having fully paid through Expedia and they didn't return it to us.
On top of this, they added extra charges of $100 and $60, promising to reimburse these once their system was fixed, but this never happened. We ended up being charged $700.
This is outright fraud, and people should not trust this hotel. After reading other reviews, it seems like this might be a recurring issue. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel, as our experience left us feeling cheated and deeply disappointed.

Very! veey! Bad service!!! Please! Do not go there! They do not respect people there. They will call the police for you if you do not agree with anything that they say or want you to do. I had such a terrible experience there in which I wish not to come back. There was a lady there who did not want me to buy what I want. In other words, she was scared of me thinking like I was going to steal the items while I had my credit card in my hands. I wish I had never booked that hotel.

We just stayed here in September and it was absolutely amazing. The food the drinks the atmosphere just the whole vibe. I absolutely love
I highly recommend
also you can take a shuttle that gets you to downtown and it's just absolutely perfect and their concierge was so helpful and helping us plan activities for each day. Me and my boyfriend had the most amazing time celebrating his birthday and I will definitely be coming back.

Large rooms even if a little dated....swimming pool 10/10...it is better to avoid drinks in the pool, because they are very expensive. Free and very convenient parking. Excellent location for both the beaches and the center (Duval st).

For the money I would have liked a bit more for our first time at Key West. The ''Resort thing" is a farce! Same as a hotel, with less to offer than most hotels with NO ELEVATOR, NO breakfast, only coffee at the pool. The only resort type feature is the watch like wrist band that opens the door that barely closed on this aging facility. Lets get the negative stuff said first moving on to the shower rod that was falling down and sagging and the faucet set up in the tub was barely acceptable to get the shower on with the aging plumbing evident at the sink as well with the drain not working as it should. We were upsold a room with a gulf view and should have just left it alone with all the noise of the traffic on the main highway to the action on the island right in front of us. The very small patio was deafened by the window ac unit and the traffic. Better if you take a pool view in retrospect! Now to the positive side! Upon arrival, it seems the place is pretty cool with its old charm and see through lobby to the pool that has great palm action and landscape that has a mexican resort feel. The pool is probably the best thing the place has to offer, but they have a constant battle with it to keep it cleaned out from all the tree debris that falls into it and if you snorkel as i do, it kind of gross to see underwater, if not it has a cool vibe with the mist pouring off the waterfall area and expecially at night it is nice with the lighting and stereo system surrounding the place that can be too much at times. But no resort style pool perks like games, nightly musician, dancing, or free finger foods, that would have made a huge positive difference. The best service of the the HC was the shuttle service that ran every 1/2 hour to a good drop off and pick up point with a ton of boats, yachts, and fishing vessels, with tours, parasailing, and a variety of water adventures there by the brewery! It was a 15-20 min drive however with heavyier traffic.
Now, just a bit on the whole Key West draw - Duval thing! This is an alcohol based fun place with alot of things to eat and buy everywhere. If you are there for a Romantic Getaway and you dont drink or dont want to get lit each time you go there you will probable leave feeling a bit empty! We love the beauty in Gods creation and places to dance and connect and make memories as God Fearing Husband and Wife so, other than the wonder of the huge cruise ships that came in, and some expensive waterside restruants like AB Lobster, and the Oyster place underneath and a few other nice place with water and boats all around, and the sunsets areas that were packed at that time, once you have been through it a couple of days, the thrill is gone!
Just as bit of warning about the drive to Key West after you hit the island chain. Dont get your hopes up if you dreaming about hours of beautiful ocean and boats with water activites abounding as the only memorable thing about it was the 7 mile bridge that had almost endless water on both sides, the rest of the 3 hour trudge is manzanita groves obscuring the water view, and alot of poorer folk that live there with very little effort being placed on making this long slow traffic laden drive, a cleaned up memorable experience! But, its just something a new floridian feels like they have to do i guess, but we will not be back spending the money for sure and looking for memories. If you go, make sure you do the watersports, like parasailing and jet skiing, the best part there is the water, but we have water here where we live in SW Florida as well!
I kind of was hoping for a Mexican Resort type of feel since it was so far south and part of the US but, not so much at all. We actually went down to snorkel, but this is so tarnished as all the reefs have been so trafficed and damaged that the mexican type beautiful coral is lacking. Too many people, to long, sunscreen, and boats, gas, and humans have minimized this as well with sand covered formations and sea weed. The

We stayed at Havana Cabana to kick off our vacation last week. We were warmly greeted by the front desk worker and she was very detailed explaining the hotel policies and how to order from the food truck. We were also upgraded to a pool view room which was a nice surprise. Other great things about the hotel - the food from the food truck was amazing and the shuttle driver was very punctual and friendly.
The hotel does advertise an airport pick up as part of the resort fee. We tried calling several times before arrival, but the number listed on the website was not working. We were never able to schedule an airport pickup and had to order a Lyft instead when we landed. We later learned that the phone had been disconnected (but was never told why), however the manager agreed to lower the resort charge to offset the Lyft ride which was appreciated. I do wish that a note was left on our reservation because I forgot to ask for the refund upon checkout as instructed by the manager, which I will take the blame for.
An additional thing I wanted to mention, but do not fault the hotel for since it is clearly advertised, is the DJ’s music is EXTREMELY loud. It just wasn’t for us - we understand others like the party scene and are attracted to the resort for it, but it didn’t really seem like anyone was enjoying it while we were there since the part of the pool nearest to the DJ was completely empty. I also wish that the noise policy was better enforced. We were awoken at midnight to a group screaming in the pool.
I docked a star for two reason. First, the door to our room did not seem secure. It barely seemed to latch which allowed excess noise to filter into our room and seemed easy to break into if someone really wanted (however, the resort does not feel unsafe). Second, upon checkout the employee working the front desk was very unprofessional. He did ask several friendly questions, but it quickly turned to political commentary. Regardless of whether I agreed with this employee or not, I don’t want to discuss politics on my vacation. The country is already polarized enough and a vacation hotel is no place to discuss these topics. I hope this is addressed to the employee in question.
Overall, our stay was enjoyable and most of our interactions with employees were perfectly pleasant. We’ll also be thinking about those conch fritters from the food truck for a long time to come! And the iguanas by the pool were very entertaining!

My wife and I stayed here in August 2024. We went out sightseeing and returned about 5 hours later. As we were heading down the hallway to our room we notice our room door was standing open. I cautiously went in hoping that we would maybe find a housekeeper working. As we entered we saw our room was clean but no one in our room. I reported this to a male supervisor who apologized, and said he would check with his house keeper. While he left to check we went through our room to check for stolen items. Everything seemed to be in order thankfully. The supervisor returned to tell us that his housekeeper admitted she'd forgotten to resecure our room. The supervisor gave me a business card of his manager (Christian) and said he will be available for your call and to please talk to him about the incident to see if he might want to compensate us for the incident. Fast forward now here it is the end of September and after several calls to try to reach out to management, we have been ignored. This hotels leadership has not even had the courtesy to call us to express any interest in compensating us. We were there on a 3 night stay prior to a cruise to the carribean and could have had passports, cash and many valuables taken from us. Not only did this incident happen, but we were also charged resort fees after paying them in advance through Priceline. They have not refunded those charges either. I will never again even come to Key West for a visit, I would not recommend anyone stay here.
