Great surprise. Just looking for a hotel near John Pennekamp State Park for an early snorkelling trip the next morning. However when we arrived to our beach facing room with separate living room, micro, etc, we were pleasantly surprised. A private dock and beach to watch the beautiful sunset. We later spent a week in Key West and our best sunset was here! No check in, digital key --very convenient. Very private. Highly recommended.

The hotel itself is a great location, quiet and perfect for couples , not much of action going around, truthfully ? Barely saw any other guests or workers, not sure if it’s a good or bad thing , however the next day when I woke up , me and my hubby had a bunch of bed bug bites all over our bodies! These aren’t mosquitos , we barely went outside , walked around one time to check out the property , I know a lot of hotels don’t wash sheets because they “look” clean and I def recommend taking your own Lysol or spray . Also the shower didn’t drain and who wants to shower with dirty water at your ankles !

Hidden gem at Key Largo. We love how they kept it simple with plenty of vegetation and minimum build area. Room was pristine and well equiped. Free paddleboard use for their beautiful beach/dock area. Walking distance to great bars and restaurants. Perfect place to relax. Highly recommend.

After booking our room here just for the night for our drive back from Key west I was a bit hesitant to stay after reading all the negative review online, however our experience here was far from what the negative reviews had to say. While yes there may be little nit-picky things one can point out about the room like little stains on the walls and such, the room was amazing! We stayed in the Caribe suite and found ourselves having more space within our room than any other hotel we’ve stayed at in the keys! The property itself is beautiful and very quiet due to the fact that the entire boutique hotel only has 7 rooms! It really felt like we had the entire place for ourselves, which was ideal for my boyfriend and I! The amenities of the paddle boards/ kayaks and a fully stocked fridge with water and soda is a real selling point of this stay! No resort fee, and you can use the sister property next door (Amoray) for the 7 1/2 ft deep pool which was amazing in the heat! Will definitely be staying here in the future, if you are an easy going person who doesn’t care about all the fuss then definitely ignore those bad reviews and stay a night or two here, you won’t regret it! PS: the best TV we’ve had in the keys as it’s satellite and perfect for when you are in bed at night!

This place was….disappointing to say the least. The pictures online made the property look stunning, along with the rooms. We had booked an ocean view room. When we checked in and got to our room, the place was in some major need of repairs. We had broken blinds, tv barely mounted on the wall, along with a few other things. Our “ocean view” was completely obstructed by a palm tree and tiki hut. On top of all this, the beach area is not really swimable, and the property itself was VERY difficult to find, they have a tiny sign with a font that is very hard to read. We ended up using their broken mailbox as our landmark to find the driveway.

Location was fantastic, and the private beach was amazing. There are tons of things to do within walking distance. The rooms needed some updating, and some fixes have been made akin to a landlord. Beds were extremely firm, difficult to sleep on. Kitchenette was a plus, with enough dishes and silverware as well as a dishwasher. Laundry was available as well. At check-in, nobody was available at the front desk, and since we booked through a third party, we didn't get a welcome email with our check-in information or room key (code). On arrival, we had to call a number to obtain this information. Would definitely stay here again if they bought new beds.

Great little hotel for a quick trip. We had the room next to the front desk office, it was small but good. The bed was super sweaky and time I rolled over I woke myself up ? maybe that's why it was a lower price, but I would go back.

Go somewhere else! This is a rip off. Not a resort. We stayed here at the end of March. Dirty. No housekeeping service by when we got back at 9pm. Only 2 damp towels to use. No staff on property. No access to recreation equipment. Mold in the space on light fixture in kitchenette and in the bathroom. No closet doors. The only light switch was when you first walked in, then dark until you plug in the bedside lamp. The dehumidifier was full, not serviced when we arrived and not the next day. We spoke with our credit card company who reached out to the business. We were told we could check out and receive a refund for the last night. Now, they have refused the refund. Also, generic security code for the door, easy to figure out and have your belongings stolen.
This was a nightmare.
Noteworthy details: Scam "resort". Not what they say it is. Water/ beach and dock are not accessible for those with physical disabilities.

If you are looking for an affordable place to stay in Key Largo, look no further! This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The room was extremely cleaned and had everything we needed (plates, microwave, fridge, etc). The bed and pillows were super comfy. The view is simply amazing with nice beach chairs.

Note: my review is very specific to one room-type: La Palma.
I almost feel bad to give this low-rating, but I think it is necessary to give this review to help out future travelers to this hotel. The location is amazing, and so is the overall vibes of this place. Loads of greenery and it is right on the bay. They have created a (tiny) beach which looks very cute. Overall, I would have loved this place, if it weren’t for the room we got. La Palma, does not have a bathroom door! I would have never booked a hotel had I known this before. (I did see a review mentioning this when I reached there, but it was a recent review and hadn’t been published when I had booked the hotel). Without the door, you are practically sharing the bathroom with anyone who you are sharing the room with (and mind you, the room is not extremely big either, so everything is happening right in front of you). I am sorry to write this, but you can’t go about doing your business, in front of another person, even if it is your better half!
I wrote to the owner, and got a response that they are aware of this situation and working on it. Well, it doesn’t help me! Also the fact that someone else posted the same issue 3 weeks ago, clearly they are NOT working on it actively. Had they been, I wouldn’t have to leave the room and go outside, every time my wife wanted to take a dump, and vice-versa! It was HUGELY INCONVENIENT! Especially pinches more when you have to do this after paying north of four hundred bucks for each night.
Future travelers: please call and ask them if they have installed the door prior to making a reservation.

I did a bit of searching in the reviews for this but couldn't find one mentioning what I will be sharing. We reserved the La Palma suite for one night. Check in at 4pm with a code that was provided with email. That worked but opened to an unclean room - towels or rags still on the floor. A call to the office assured me the housekeeper would be on her way and she was, but it was after our check in time already. That wouldn't have a deal breaker except that as we toured our room we found there is no door on the bathroom. NO DOOR. Twenty five years of marriage but we still don't share our toilet habits in front of each other when it comes to sitting down. I could simply not believe it. A quick look online confirmed that there used to be doors on the bathroom. The photos are not up to date with the state of the room. It was only one night so we dealt with it, I guess.
The grounds are nice, inviting, multiple options to enjoy views of the water, get out on the water, even have a picnic outside. But I can't imagine knowingly signing up for the open bathroom situation. They do have free laundry, fyi, behind the office building.
I called the next day to share our disappointment with the office person. Wow, her irritation at my feedback just dripped through the phone. She told me they had received the bathroom door feedback from others, but it was down the list on repairs to be made at this resort. She didn't care, and somewhat scolded me over the fact they have only one housekeeper who can't finish within the time frames they have.
If she had even been apologetic, expressed empathy for the discomfort, and inconvenience, I would have walked away in a different frame of mind. Instead I'm left with the impression of 2-star motel, limping along with hopes of just booking people in to pay their bills.
Despite the charm of the location and outdoors, I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend.

Azul is a great spot for a weekend away. Nice and quiet, you don’t have to fight for a nice view at the beach, and you can have a relaxing time without leaving. Surrounded by plenty of good restaurants and natural beauty!
Rooms: The rooms are nice and have everything you need for a weekend getaway. It’s a small place in the keys, not a luxury hotel and that’s what we wanted.
Nearby activities: State park is right down the road, plenty of stuff to do at the resort. You can snorkel, kayak, and paddle board right off the property, equipment included.

My wife and I used this hotel as an in between stay between our vacation in Key West and our drive back to the Fort Lauderdale airport. We will definitely be coming back for a longer stay. This small hotel is amazing. It is great for couples and is adults only. It is part of the neighboring Amoray Dive Resort (which allows kids). If you are looking for a romantic getaway or a place to stay while diving or fishing, this is the place.

We stopped here for a night on the way to Key West, it was slow season, so very affordable. We really like this little porperty and will return. I will say the check-in system was confusing, some codes were emailed and we didn't understand it at all, but when we arrived we were met by someone who gave us a key, Old school style, for us old people!Room was very nice, bathroom had a jetted tub, complimentary soft drinks, coffee and water. Big comfy chairs in room. a small sandy area overlooks the bay, place is lovely also with easy walking distance of some bars and restaurants.
