I rented a storage unit from U-Haul Moving & Storage of South Jacksonville and was satisfied with the service provided. However, I did notice that the facility could use some maintenance, as there were a few lights out in the hallway and the entrance gate seemed a bit rusty. It didn't affect the security of my belongings, but it did give a slightly unpolished impression.

Make sure to walk the truck when rent it before you drive off. Otherwise even a dent that looks old they will put say it’s you . When it’s clearly an old dent

I agree with most of the other reviews here. The service at this U-Haul location is lacking. I reserved a trailer online through U-Haul and when I went to pick it up they couldn't find my reservation, even though it was showing in the app and online. This has happened at other U-Haul stores in the past; so I think this is a problem for their IT and Dev teams that needs to be fixed. The people working acted like they did not want to be there, much less help customers. Took 45 minutes to get checked out and get the trailer, and while I waited at least 3 different customers came in disappointed about not getting propane refills because the workers said nobody was there to fill it for them; you would think everyone working would be trained on filling up propane as it is so easy I was doing it as a teenager when I was working for a hardware store. Another guy came in because his truck he rented broke down and they were like "you need to call", not "let me help". Then the trailer they gave me was rusty and falling apart; could barely open & close the door. It kind of pissed me off since I paid $25 for their liability insurance; should have got a more decent trailer. Next time I will stick to the U-Haul location in Mandarin, as they are better organized.

Rented a truck recently... the gentleman who handled our reservation was polite and nice, but spent time telling us about his side business. Not a big deal, but not what we were there for that afternoon. The most offensive thing was another employee who showed up shortly after we arrived who had a head band on and braids in his hair... absolutely stinking of weed/marijuana!! We were 3 or so feet away from him and we were overwhelmed with the smell. And, while there, he kept talking gibberish stuff with us about Florida that had nothing to do with us or the truck we were renting. Scary that an employee is allowed to come to work who is high on drugs!! Especially when safety is paramount.

Prob one of the worst u-haul places in jax. i made reservations for my truck with a dolly then they said its not a dolly available. the girl i worked with was nice but just the service of the store was crazy for me. and returning the truck we was waiting in the store 15 mins with other customer by ourselves until someone can and checked us out. never again

Utilizing this company for the first time was a disappointment. The prices advertised aren’t the actual prices I paid. I informed the clerk that I was moving 2 couches which required a small truck or van. I was first offered a 15 foot truck at an additional charge. Which I informed the second clerk that truck was too large and I was not going to pay $90 for a truck I could’ve easily rented from Home Depot for 3 times less the amount I paid to U-Haul. The truck was on empty when I picked it up and I had to fuel the truck prior to going to the pick up location for the couches. This truck should’ve been $29 but i was informed it would be $53.11. I was informed that I would be refunded for the fuel. My final bill was $74.41. I definitely will never utilize U-Haul again and will inform my family and friends to do the same. There should be a zero star here

Don’t rent from this location. Danielle Jennings is a con artist and very deceptive owner. She adds insurance to your contract without you even knowing it. When I confronted her and told her that I didn’t want it, she said it’s required or she won’t rent me the van. I told her I can rent it if I have my own insurance, this states on the website. I showed her my insurance and asked her to remove it. She said she couldn’t and she would remove it once I returned the van. When I returned it, she gave me the receipt with insurance still on there. I told her again to remove it. She definitely needs some customer service training and stop trying to deceive the customers.

Everything was great at this location and I would definitely recommend this location to anyone. I was initially using another location on Western Way but had problems picking up the truck via the mobile app. Once I called customer service, they sent me to the Phillips Hwy location and I'm glad they did. The staff there was amazing!

i have always used uhaul to move. never have i dealt with such problems before. I rented a pick up truck online and it told me to pick it up at 4:30 on 9/24, they close at 5 pm on sunday's keep that in mind. I got there a little before 4:30 and it was closed?? the workers were SITTING IN THEIR CAR acting as if i'm not even there. They said "we're closed" .. like no u close in about 30 minutes. After i got in the phone with uhaul he FINALLY decided to go back inside and actually do the job. I paid for the rental over the phone, the money was taken out of my account btw. He said something along the lines of "we don't care about the payment online we need it in person" ??? like what does that even mean?? i ended up canceling the entire rental, this was my last and final straw with uhaul. They have gone down terribly and honestly i would not recommend uhaul to ANYONE!!!! save ur money time and sanity. (if i could rate this place a -10 i would)

The people did not tell me that the trailer I asked specifically for to take across multiple states wasn’t in town only then the guys asked if I had cash to pay for my hitch in order to pocket the money, then the trailer broke down due to poor maintenance and I was forced to unload my trailer in the middle of nowhere and get a new trailer the next day. Was made promises that we’re not kept each person told me something different when it’s another day was put in a very bad situation lost money in a days time..

I was supposed to pick up my rental at 8:00 am. The key was not left outside and I also couldn’t check in online so I called the 800 number and I was told they didn’t leave the key out so I had to wait until 9:00 am for them to open. Everyone was standing around outside waiting because they couldn’t get their trucks either. The manager lady immediately came at yelling at all of us telling us we should have checked in online and basically called us all liars. She was rude, hateful and rolled her eyes and was mad at me the whole time! That woman was the RUDEST person I have ever encountered! I will never go to that location again nor will I ever rent from Uhaul again!
