The original job of replacing my window was done back in November. Safelite actually subcontracted my job to another company and they did a fine job this week. My rearview mirror fell off the windshield. When I called Safelite it took forever to get somebody to answer the phone and then when they did, I was on hold for over 30 minutes for them trying to find my job in their their system. I eventually hung up when no one came back on the line. I tried to get in touch with them the next day, and apparently their phones were out of order because no one was answering at all for over an hour. After about three hours of trying to get someone on the phone, the person I was chatting with on the computer was finally able to give me the name of the company it was contracted out to. It seems when a job is contracted out it’s in a different database in their system, and most of their reps who answer the phone do not know that. Incredibly frustrating process.

A rock had hit the bottom of my windshield while on the highway. Dang it. I went into my Progressive app to file a claim to get it fixed and their default company is Safelite. I didn't have a problem with this at all. I DID have to schedule someone to come to my job to repair the star-shaped crack a week out. I wasn't happy about this but I felt that because where the crack was it would be fine for awhile. Scheduling was easy and I received notifications and service reminders up until Tyler the tech called me stating he was on his way. I met with him outside my job and he was kind and professional. He let me know ahead of time that because of the location of the crack there's a chance that an attempt to fill it in will cause it to spread so he gave me the option to try to fill it in or just schedule a replacement. I went with trying to fill it in. About 15 mins later, Tyler called me and I came back out to the car and he told me that when he was almost done a new crack started spreading so he stopped and at that point the windshield needed to be replaced. He scheduled it right on the spot and I chose the date, which was the following week unfortunately. He told me what he did this day will hold until it's replaced but if it spreads more give him a call. It didn't but Tyler called me a few days later to make sure that everything was ok. I appreciate that.I only found out recently about the overwhelming negative reviews of this place so going in I was worried about my fairly new car getting messed up by not having the glass properly sealed or my safety features no longer working. I received a call, an email and a text reminding me of my appointment so that's good. When I got there I checked in about 15 mins before my appointment. The tech came up to me at my appointment time and took the keys from me. I got a text 5 mins later that my windshield replacement was starting. I originally was going to drop it off but because they had WiFi I decided to hang around and work from there remotely. The job was going to take about 3 hours anyway.WiFi was working ok so I turned on my VPN and remoted into work and then it dropped down. They have coffee and water, vending machine, restrooms, and a tv in the waiting area.About 1 hour and 40 mins later I got a text saying that they were wrapping up my recalibration. They brought my car around gave me some tips on when to take my car to a car wash, and when I could put tint back on it, then I was on my way. I was waiting for the day that I would have leaks whether from air or water but so far so good.

Safelite came out to replace the back glass of our minivan. Tech was polite and got the job done quickly. As he was wrapping up he let me know he needed to borrow my broom and that his shop vacuum wasn’t working properly so there was some glass in the back of my van.“Some glass” turned out to be most of the remains of the window. Including all over several umbrellas and my child’s stroller. These items could’ve easily been removed, but were not and the tech never asked me to.Tech also told me that there was broken glass in the door that he couldn’t figure out how to get to.So I spend an hour of my time using my shop vac to clean out my car (after paying a $40 clean up fee).I contacted Safelite but was routed to a call center that said the local shop would need to contact me and handle a possible refund of the fee. I was never contacted.A few days later the latch in the tail gate stopped working. The broken glass had gotten into the latch and ruined it. I was able to easily disassemble the door and get to the glass the tech said he couldn’t. It was literally four screws. I was able to replace the broken latch, but am overall out $150 for parts and several more hours of my time because Safelite failed to clean up their mess. The picture of the broken glass in my van is after I had already removed over half of what was there. I know it’s broken glass, it’s impossible to get all of it, but this was just negligent.

The windshield appears to be installed correctly. So far there are no leaks. The technician told me that it would take an hour. It took an hour and a half. When placing the order, they told me that they would be installing new wiper blades. I was never told that there would be an extra charge of $30 EACH plus tax for the wiper blades. If you decide to use this company, make sure that you ask them what you will be charged for and what your insurance will pay for. They were not upfront with me on this.

Safelite installed a windshield, which wound up leaking. Instructions said we can leave the keys in the vehicle and not be on site… well I did so and they canceled anyways… and good luck talking to a customer service rep…. I’ve always dealt with local windshield shops and never had an issue… it’s been a freaking nightmare dealing with safelite.

Do not use if you have keyless entry keypad on your windshield. Was quoted $0 because no one looked up the specs of my vehicle. Was then told they could change the glass but it’ll take 3 hours and they planned on leaving my keypad dangling, IF it wasn’t completely destroyed during the removal process and to then call my dealership and that it would be $500-600 to reattach / reinstall.Changed my referral to Factory Auto Glass who (within 25 minutes) got all new parts covered under insurance and would reinstall the new keypad with no issues, they said it was a $12 part that they don’t even argue with insurance over, they just cover it and they keep multiple in stock for such vehicles. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I took time off work, during the holidays to have multiple customer service failures and the most unprofessional explanation of services, “leave it dangling”.Thankfully, I got my vehicle back before they destroyed the keyless entry system.

I had my windshield replaced a couple of months back, 3 times. The first and second trip, the windshield cracked while installation. The third time I was unable to be out there while the tech was installing the windshield and didn’t notice until later, my seal was not installed correctly. The seal of my windshield is not connected to my car. I don’t even want to call these guys again cause I’m scared they will mess something up again and I don’t have the time to keep making appointments and missing work.

Asked for the specific Harley windshield for my F250 Harley Davidson edition. Was given the downgraded basic Super Duty windshield. I called 4 times to make sure they got the right glass and was promised I would. Harley F250s are suppose to have Harley printed at the bottom. Customer service was horrible. Another local guy told me he just got the Harley glass installed recently from same company. Not sure why they gave me the basic glass. Very unprofessional.

What a nightmare I've had with this place. They have zero quality control and are next to impossible to get in touch with. It also seems to be mostly clueless "in training" employees moping around. Had a back window of a brand new F-150 King Ranch replaced by them, turns out they didn't full seal it. We got heavy rains one weekend and the truck flooded. My new truck went from fresh leather/new car smell to mildew odor. They did replace it through their warranty but that process was a total headache involving three different steps at three different locations which they would not recommend. I RECOMMEND ANYWHERE OTHER THAN HERE FOR AUTO GLASS. I hear that Lee and Kates does a great job, also more family owned and less corporate. If Geico tries to send you here REFUSE and go anywhere else.

Cortney was punctual. He called me with time of arrival. When onsite, he asked me personally were he should park so he doesn't disturb our operations. Cortney thoroughly assessed the vehicle that needed repairs and realized he didn't have the right window for the job. He let know and was truly apologetic for this. I told him no worries, that he wasn't hurting our business schedule. Cortney came back with the right window and started installation. He was very polite, conversational and informational. If I had a choice, I would love Cortney to service all my fleets when in need of window repair. Thanks Cortney so much for your professionalism and just being you. Your such a Joy! I know your company is happy to have you on their team!Respectfully,Jocelyn JordanUnited Water Restoration of Jacksonville.

I set an appointment through my insurance for windshield to be replaced. I had it setup to come to my house on a Saturday between 8-12 as I use the truck for work and it was convenient that way. First the technician didn't show up until 4 after sitting around all morning waiting for him, then they took the rear view mirror with them. After he got done I went out to look at it and there is glue everywhere, they cut into the molding on the inside and hacked it all up and the rubber trim on the outside is sticking out everywhere and isn't straight at all. They did the worst job I have ever seen a "professional " do.

I took my car to Safelite on Kingsley in Orange Park. My fist appointment I sat their for 2 hours before they told me my windshield wasn't in. Went back again after sitting for 30 minutes that no one had ordered it when I got a text telling me it was in. They black lady was so rude very unprofessional not a smile. I said after that I will never return there again. I then called the Corporate office. Now month's later on August 4th it was storming. I see where it was water leaking onto my navigation pad then I look up where my camera and sunroof panel is soak and wet. Took it to the dealership and that's when they asked me had my windshield been replaced. They didn't seal it good. I'm here to tell you Safelite employees if anything goes wrong with any of my sunroof panel or my navigation panel you all will being for me another 2023 Acura
