Bad experience! I dropped off the car. The receptionist inspected everything and said everything was fine. The next day, they charged me the same amount as the rental fee without any explanation. In the end, I paid twice as much.
The website is not working; the mailbox where complaints can be sent is invalid.

Two of the cars received were not in working order. Customer service representative misinformed us regarding the insurance coverage and we were charged for additional coverage that was not needed. Ultimately, the third car that was working, it was dirty. It had Chex mix all over the floor and in between seats.
We always rent with Avis, but took a chance with Hertz this rental and will never go back based on this experience. We do not suggest anyone use hertz as we witnessed several other people in line receive the same service we did and had to swap out cars for not working Or other issues

HORRIBLE. Not veteran friendly, we were never given any info that there would be a $150.00 cleaning for our PTSD SERVICE animal!!! I was never informed of this...I specifically told them that my VETERAN spouse had a SERVICE animal. You would think they would say...hey, we chrage for that, uh no you can't. Unless there was damage from the animal ( there wasn't) its ILLEGAL to charge for a service animal. Did they refund that? NO, of course not. There was a tiny chip in the window after a 3 1/2 hour drive. My insurance company would laugh at me for saying it needed repair. They said FULL WINSHIELD replacement! This was basic wear & tear. You literally had to squat to see it, it doesn't even meet your insurance carriers form of a chip. Veterans should NOT use Hertz, because it hurts your wallet...

Reservations don’t mean anything at this location. Has a reservation, presidents circle member, and they told me no cars.

Had a horrible experience at hertz in the Jacksonville airport magnus was very unpleasant and had no sympathy for my family with bringing my newborn on his first trip a lot of miscommunication and unprofessionalism from the employee I had to speak to my triple a which I booked through and they spoke to someone higher up in order for hertz to listen to us and actually give us our rental.

go with another rental agency-If I could give this location zero stars, I would. At drop-off, the attendant (Dave) immediately honed in on the tiniest chip in the windshield. No greeting, no courtesy, just straight to pointing it out. He said they “usually charge $400 for repair” but that he’d only charge us $75—clearly trying to make us feel better about what felt like a totally manufactured fee. He didn’t even bother to check the rest of the car or show me if the chip was there beforehand.
This whole interaction felt extremely scammy. There was no transparency, no fairness, and zero professionalism. If you’re considering renting here, take lots of photos before and after—especially of the glass—or better yet, avoid this Hertz location entirely.
calling to get information from the reps was impossible saying they couldn’t provide the VIN number since it was a completed contract already. complaints will be made to BBB and more.
looks like i’m not alone here as others have posted similar experiences.

50 people in line and two agents at the counter. Hertz uses one counter to check in hertz, thrifty AND dollar. Saves them money. Makes life for the customer miserable. In line for almost an hour.

Charging me for damages that were already there. The vehicle was disgustingly dirty and interior had an awful smell of Marijuana.

Check your receipt very carefully!! There was a charge for fuel even though I returned the car completely full, and that was checked by their attendant when i checked in the car. There was a small link that said if I thought the fuel charge was in error I could email a copy a receipt!

I was given a different vehicle than what I ordered and charged an extra $280 for a downgrade. This was my first experience with Hertz. I will never use Hertz or recommend them again.

I rent from Hertz because of corporate reasons. I prefer Turo. Hertz has a low quality selection of cars. Hertz in Jax is slow to pick up a reserved car. There are no options to pick your own car. They do not have a board welcoming Gold and President circle members. The return is quick and easy. Prices are higher than competitors.

I am a gold member, but was told after waiting 15 minutes that I didn’t book through my gold membership, so go on the longer line when no one was behind me. 30 minutes later, I got a car rental. They asked if I wanted insurance and I said no. Please waive it. They billed me $29.95/day, which was more than the rental. Also, the car had a scent of Marijuana.
