We are doing a small ceremony, but I decided I still wanted a traditional bridal gown. I found one online that I fell in love with, and they happened to have it in stock for a trunk show! I only had a party of 2 (my dad and future MIL), but they still gave us their full and joyful attention as though we had a dozen!

They picked out a few other dresses for me to try on, which were all beautiful, but I ended up going with the one I found online. It was not available in split sizing, which has been an inconvenience, but they are doing all they can to help me have a well-fitting gown for our big day! One of their recommended alterations places, MOMNI, has been great to work with as well.

My dress ended up coming in the morning a hurricane was supposed to hit, and they let me come and grab it before they closed that same day. It was a very considerate exception to their policy (so I hope this doesn’t encourage people to show up whenever to get their dress!), that my family and I truly appreciated so, so deeply.

Also disclaimer ** the comparison photos are when I tried it on at the store compared to when I picked mine up, the photo at the shop is from the place on San Jose NOT at The Tailor Shop, and finally, a photo of the dress from the wedding after getting it fixed by Daniel!

Honestly, I’m getting emotional just writing this. How can i write a review on a business (& owner) that left me speechless. 3 weeks before my wedding, is when I met Daniel. I was a bride in shambles. I had taken my wedding dress to an alterations place on San Jose, who had actually ruined my dress (I took it home on my 3rd fitting with pins still in it) I had called 4-5 places who had told me it was impossible to fix, so close to the day. The day I had met Daniel, I had brought my dress to two other shops, the First Lady laughed in my face, the second wished she could help, but said it couldn’t be done in such a short window of time, and it was after that, that I walked into The Tailor Shop and met Daniel. He informed me that it would be a big project, but he was up for the challenge. In just two short weeks, Daniel had me in and out of his shop 5 or 6 times. It was on what we thought would be our final fitting, that he told me the style of dress I bought was not the style of dress it was advertised as. When I bought the dress I was heavier, and the model in store was too tight so I thought the dress was a fitted style. Daniel advised me that was not the case, the dress should be flowy and just lay. I was devastated because that was not the dress I thought I was getting for my big day. I went in his dressing room and cried until my mom got there. When she arrived and I finally came out I expressed my concerns and explained what I wanted the dress to look like. Without hesitation, he said then let’s get it done. It was not but the next morning/early afternoon I received a text from Daniel saying he worked late the night before and early that morning, but he believes he got it right. I went that day to try it on one last time, and once again I was in tears, but this time they were happy. My dress was perfect, everything I ever hoped it to be and more. I picked up my dress the next morning (one week before wedding day) and I invited Daniel and his wife to my wedding and they graciously showed up! That Saturday before he also took on the task of fixing my husbands suit, my dads suit, and my moms dress, as they all needed minor work, but he felt he could make it better. My solution was going to be getting a new dress off Amazon for less than $100 because the amount invested in my dress was already a lot, but Daniel worked miracles and I was able to wear my dream dress.”

“Alethia’s was super accommodating. Chose the dress I wanted from a book of options, had it ordered new, it took a week to arrive and then I rented it from them. Everything was done in a timely manner! They altered it perfectly to my body and my dress was lovely. Highly recommend!!!”
