For the first three months the shop had my bike I thought I was either being scammed or punk’d. Points if you remember that show.
When I first called Solano cycles, they informed me they were so busy I needed to wait a month to drop off the bike, so I did. Upon dropping my Vespa off, the woman taking the bike informed me she doesn’t even work there, but she is helping out for a buddy. That should have been my first warning. She took some notes while I explained to her what problems I was having with the Vespa. She also informed me that it would be about a month before they would get to it.
After a month had gone by with no update or any information on the Vespa I called the store back. They informed me they did not have it and I should call the other store. I called the other location and the woman informed me they didn’t have it and that I should probably call the beach store since I live at the beach. I informed her the beach store told me to call them, in which she replied let me go look. I’m guessing she never looked the first time? I then called almost every week for the next two months asking for an update. Sometimes I was informed they didn’t have my bike, sometimes they informed me it was next to be diagnosed and other times they weren’t sure and would have to get back to me but never did.
After two months, I was finally informed that they do have my bike at the Orange Park location and she read me what the problems were with the bike. She read my original notes that I gave to the woman accepting my bike. I informed her of this and she said my bike would be diagnosed tomorrow. I got a call two hours later from the same woman explaining to me what was fixed and that I now owe almost $300.
When I picked the bike up, it did not idle. It would shut off as soon as I stopped moving forward. They informed me it was a minor adjustment and would have it fixed that Saturday.
Two weeks later I got a call that the bike was ready, so I went and picked it up in my truck. Craig saw some bulbs in a bag on the bike. He said, “I assume you know what those are since they’re good bulbs. I can see the bulb is still in good condition”. I informed him I don’t know what they were for and that I was charged for new light bulbs. Took it for a test drive when I got home and immediately heard the sound of metal clanging on the ground, which turned out to be pieces of the bike not re-secured. It then died on me and I had to walk it back to my house three blocks away.
Mike was the only good experience through this awful experience although his hands are tied and limited to the service he can provide. He tried to come get the bike once off work to correct the situation. I informed him I no longer trusted the company and they would not get a third chance. Especially after seeing the items they “re-secured” and fastened that I was charged for (zip ties and missing bolts in pictures.
Long story short, this company is not organized, properly staffed, can’t communicate and can’t properly fix a bike in a reasonable amount of time. I fully understand where the labor world is these days since I own a lawn care company, but a constant excuse of we don’t have the mechanics isn’t an excuse. Wouldn’t you just stop taking on a larger workload if you don’t have the labor? I did not purchase a bike here, so I am not sure of their service in that world. Don’t waste your time, frustration or money on this place to work on your bikes. Seek help elsewhere and avoid what I had to go through. There is a reason their rating is not good on here.

This place has really gotten better! The staff there is friendly. The service department knows what they are doing when it comes to fixing your scooter!! Way better than the management and service team that used to be there a few years ago!

Thanks to Mike and the most knowledgeable mechanic from Boston - I never got your name, sorry! My girlfriend and I had a great experience here. We came in 4 weeks ago with a bunch of questions. Mike answered all of them and was so non-pushy, it was a relief and refreshing. He even referred us to another Solano just so we could ride a rental and see if my g/f liked it. We came back a couple weeks later to buy...albeit on a very limited budget. Mike and Mr Boston Mechanic (who seemingly knows everything about scooters) were so helpful. We left with a brand new bike (Chinese...who knew?!) and have been enjoying it ever since...such amazing speed/acceleration for a 50cc! I've been hitting 55mph (ahem that's not legal so between us). Big thanks to these guys! A great experience, all around, despite some negative reviews. Hopefully this new management can turn that around. Mike is a great start!

Yesterday I spoke on the phone with a very kind person who told me that I could come first thing in the morning today to check my motorcycle and depending on the problem to be repaired, they told me how many days it would take to repair that problem, today I went and another person helped me. (the manager) and he was very rude and rude, I imagine that if he treats his customers that way, he must treat the workers at that place worse, so I won't go again.

I wish I could give 0 stars. My husband bought a scooter there over a year ago, was able to use it for a FEW months and it needed a new muffler, took there and it’s been there for 10 months. They never contacted us to communicate this whole time except for us calling to see if they fixed it or not and the answer was always “we are waiting for a part” and still are! We feel like we just wasted $2000 as we can’t even use the vehicle. Nobody can help and I’m still waiting to hear from the manager/owner so I can get a reimbursement!

They are in jax beach. Tons of people riding bikes. They have a bunch of Aventon adverts. I have an Aventon. So imagine my surprise when this useless, barren middle aged blonde white lady tells me they don’t specialize in “Aventon” so I should go to their other locations or come back later maybe they can do normal basic maintenance. I’m like what about some oil for chain? Straight looks me in the eye with contempt and says “I’m not doing it” and crosses me off waitlist..

If I could leave a minus star review I would. Over two and a half moths ago I call them to come pick up my scooter. Bingo! that very day they came up to Fernandina Beach to get it, for $120.00 it has been over two and a half months since and they still have done nothing! They told me six weeks ago they were waiting on parts ( I told them to just buy a new carburetor instead of trying to overhaul the old one. I find out later that they have never ordered the part.) I said it's bee over two month and they said, "Well, we like to take our time and do things right". I said "that's fine if your working on, then yes, I would appreciate you doing it right. I've asked to speak with Martin, the owner a dozen times and left that many messages....nothing form him. Nothing but the run around, time after time. THIS WAS THE WORST EVER!! STAY AWAY!!!

Worst buying experience of my life. They either avoid calls or flat out lie. After 2 and a half months of problems every single step of the way they have now taken so long to deal with the tags for the bike that I have expired temporary plates on the bike and they are simply stringing me along with lie after lie of when things will be taken care of. A month ago, it would be all set in a few weeks. A week and a half ago after not hearing anything from them, I called and they said Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. No call this week. Called them Friday. They were "picking up the tags this afternoon, come to the shop first thing tomorrow." Stood outside until they opened the doors at 10:15 (supposed to open at 10) and they still don't have them, come back later. Absolute garbage business with people who don't care a single bit about customers, do absolutely nothing to make good on their end, and simply are the most unreliable, dishonest business I have dealt with to date.Plenty of other bike shops around, avoid Solano Cycles at all costs or you will regret it.

So incredibly rude! I called to ask a simple question and the woman cut me off before the words even came out of my mouth. No, we are WAY too busy. I literally live two blocks away and believe me, that are NOT that busy
