Skip this one and go to Arlington. Its appauling that name brands are priced high so only those with extra money can afford quality products even at a thrift store. The church calls it a ministry. I guess this church thrift store only prices some things for the entire community and brand name better things for those who can afford it. Some ministry right?! This is what I was told right to my face when asking about pricing.I've been here 3x. I was VERY impressed the first time with the prices and people. Good fair prices for a thrift store and good people working there representing the Christian church right there in the shopping center with it.However today was the third time. They stopped with the good prices. It's now comparable to Ross or Marshalls but with used products. Kind of like consignment prices but a thrift store sign. I was happy to see new things but also new price tags that LITERALLY are so expensive some of them have explanations on them! One lamp said $42 valued at $100 or $200 (I forgot). Hopes closet has good products don't get me wrong. But you may be better off hitting a Ross for something new instead. It just started this way unfortunately because I have brought in 10 people now by word of mouth in 3 weeks to see this store that had good products with THRIFT STORE prices. The first time I went they wrapped my breakables like they cared that my items were fragile. Now they said " we don't have much so"...and that was all that was said. I asked for an extra bag maybe? And that didn't get an answer. I was ignored. Today I mentioned the prices were high recently and the cashier snapped back, "just like everything else in this world." And then the other cashier said " we might be expensive but we're worth it!" I mean ok but isn't this a ministry for the community with items that are donated? For everyone to be able to get quality items affordable regardless of a brand? The joy I had in my heart that there was ACTUALLY a church that had a nice thrift store for the community and werent in the same category as other stores as far as pricing, representation, and doing this for their community with a good heart. There are increasingly items with no price anywhere. There were so many without a tag and others with "valued at" as an actual explanation for the price gouge. I guess the church needs money but it's honestly just a guess bc I don't know why this is happening now. I was so disappointed. No hard feelings here just a big disappointment. I even had a price check from the manager on something I thought for sure was just written sloppy and not the actual price. A small cutemore mature african american woman came and said that yes that was the price while the cashier said, " I don't know why is it the brand or something? " No answer from the manager. Just a nod about the price and off she went. But there was literally NO brand on it. There were used watches at $25 a pop up front and I didn't even ask if it was the right price I just asked if it was a number or dollar sign on the tag and then the other cashier said it's probably the brand. I had never heard of the brand but ok. I just put it back. They do have new items but they are marked as new. There are signs that say dishes sell as a set. But then other sets you have to buy each different part of the set at $4-$10 for 4 pieces on at 20 piece set. More and more stock will continue to accrue. Because while I was checking out 3 people in front of us asked if the prices were right and then said they didnt want them. I turned to my friend and said it's not just me. Sad. Unfortunate. Oh well. The snotty response I got after mentioning they were more expensive now said it all. I was told yes they were expensive but there was a good cause but not what it was, and I was told everything is expensive so ? I don't know it seems all name brands for every question of high prices. I consider Walmart and Ross at these prices. But it's not used.

Best thrift store EVER! Very organized and nicely curated items displayed to inspire. I found an entire outfit (jeans, shirt, vest and shoes) for $28. Would have easily found a cute purse & jewelry but didn't have time. I WILL be back! God Bless!

I don't reside in J'ville but have in-laws here and each time I'm here I go to Hope's to see what I can find. Unique items that are rare and hard to find! A must-stop. They're closed on Sundays and Mondays though...

They have really nice, gently used merchandise, especially pictures and clothes. I make it a point to always plan to shop at both stores. Great value.

I’m really disappointed in this store. We’ve been here three separate times, and every time we leave with nothing or next to nothing. Everything, and I mean everything, is overpriced. I’m seeing soooo much Walmart, target, Shein, JC Penney, and Forever21 brand clothes in terrible condition- stained, pilling, torn, marked anywhere from $12 to $24+. Extremely outdated. Like we’re talking 90’s jeweled flats and sweater vests. If I’m going to pay retail prices, I’m gonna go shop retail. I’m not paying $16 for a shirt that looks like it was worn for 20 years and isn’t a name brand.

Reasonably priced clothing! Forgot church clothes on a weekend trip to Jacksonville, and I was able to get some slacks and a white church for super cheap. We also had some time to kill, and they had lots of couches and chairs for my buddy and I to chill. Honestly this is a great establishment, if I ever find myself in Jax again, I'll swing by

The staff are very helpful. The prices are unmatched. I found several things that were new with tags on them. This place makes me want to stop shopping in department stores.

I started shopping at Hope's Closet in 2016, when I moved into my home. I needed wall art as I moved from a two bedroom apartment to a townhome. In December, they (not sure if they still do) offered daily discounts on different items. I hit the jackpot, and the day I visited was 50% off all art. I found a few pieces that still hang on my wall. On my most recent visit, my niece and her husband wanted to go thrifting. They were looking for cloths, but I was looking mostly at home items. I bought a cute doggie picture frame and green capri pants. They found several items of clothes. I didn't know, but they also sell new clothing items too. They have cloths for everyone in the family, lots of household items, furniture, shoes and much more. And bonus, the store is owned and operated by a nearby church, Eleven22.

This is a worthwhile thrift store to visit. It has a lot to offer and is very well organized. I did notice some items were a bit pricy, but I’m sure the area it’s located in is use to it. Also, a good bit of the clothes and shoes are new or like new so paying $10 to a quarter of the price from retail is still a steal. It’s all so nice that before you know you’ve got a cart full. I myself picked out two tops, a skirt, and two pairs of shoes! I found the toy section to be lackluster. The dishes, linens, and knickknacks sections have a lot to offer. I’d say there is something for every person. The staff is very friendly, and personable. I can’t wait until I’m in the area again, and can stop in for a visit!

This is an upscale thrift store on Beach and San Pablo. You can find nice clothes and vintage China here, along with some good used furniture. Thing I like about it is they really don't put out any junk like you see in most thrift stores. I think if anybody donates junk it must go in the dumpster. Also the employees are friendly. Especially when you compared to other thrift stores.****Here's my June 24th 2023 update: today when I visited they had a really nice Howard Miller grandfather clock. please check out the Picture.
