This is very good company for insurance. Elaine returned my calls and complicated questions very quickly and was extremely helpful. Even though my situation is probably not something they can help with, Elaine took the time to do a lot of research and came back to me with some options. I hope to do more business with them in the future.

I've been using Fletcher since it was Fletcher and Stein. The service was great back then and I used them for business and personal - and referred multiple people to them. Over the years the service starting slipping, but it was easier to continue using them than switch. This last year service has been terrible. It takes weeks to get a reply to email, and when you do it is full of excuses. I had a commercial policy that expired and I didn't receive a reminder or notice from the insurance company or my rep at Fletcher, and I have been trying to get returned calls or emails from Fletcher for weeks. It's my fault for not seeing the policy was expiring, but I expect more from the brokerage I've been with for most of a decade. Insurance brokers are a dime a dozen. Find one that wants and cares about your business.

We have been using Fletcher Stein since we moved to the beaches in 2010. I guess you never realize the competency of someone you hire until something goes wrong. About a year ago we inquired Fletcher Stein on the amount of coverage we had and they recommended an extra rider which would provide more coverage for the external buildings on our property. Before hurricane Irma hit I called to confirm our coverage and was told we were covered. Knowing the insane hurricane deductible we have (over $8500) it made sense that everything was covered if anything happens. Irma hit and wiped out our fence and damaged one of the external buildings. The Insurance adjuster and examiner told us our fence and the external buildings we have insurance on, and the extra rider on, are excluded because it was a hurricane that caused the damage. After numerous calls to higher ups at Security First I was told exactly where in the policy the exclusions could be found, and that the extra rider we paid for would not cover the external buildings. I also found out that if the fence had been attached to the house with nothing more than a $0.50 bracket it would have been fully covered. No one told us.I reached out to the CEO of Fletcher Stein and he sent me an email saying he reviewed our policy and cannot see a reason for denying coverage. Perhaps the CEO lied to me and did not read the policy or is just incapable of understanding a policy. Either way it is pretty scary that the brokerage company we hired did not seem to understand our policy. We all know that reading through insurance policies and understanding them can be difficult which is why we made the decision to hire a brokerage company, Fletcher Stein to guide us through the confusion. We feel that Fletcher Stein was negligent in explaining to us and interpreting the policy and all of the exclusions. It was only until the insurance company representative pointed out to us and Fletcher Stein representatives including the CEO that they agreed that indeed the fence and exterior structures were not covered under our policy and the extra rider would do no good in a hurricane. And when we asked the CEO to do what is right and reimburse us for their negligence all correspondence was severed.
