Since I moved into town a couple of years ago, my son and I have been more involved into fishing. My son told me about this shop in town carrying cool stuff. And he was right! Not only do they have everything you need to build your own gear, but you can buy custom made combos custom made by the legendary Rick Berry. He was super cool and helpful with my son despite my kid asking way too many specific questions on how to build. Thank you, Rick. It was a real pleasure visiting your shop. My son has a new friend.

Would not recommend wasting your money here!I am also a custom rod builder and the work they do there is complete garbage the cork handle on the rod is not properly installed there is glue all over the cork and rod has chips down the middle the guides are not straight the wrap is not flush or done properly and the wrap job isn’t even straight the rod is not put on the spine like they guaranteed it would be

I Still Love Key Largo Rods!It has been 20 years of fishing 200+ trips per year and I'm still relying on Key Largo Rods to get the job done. I can tell you that Rick's rods have withstood the test of time and durability over a lifetime of challenges. All of the other qualities that are important to me in a rod have also been there. The best part about a custom rod is that you can set the dials on what you are trying to accomplish. For me it's sensitivity and weight. Rick has always been a master at helping me to achieve what particular aspects I wanted in the rod while still maintaining the durability and fine cosmetics.Here is the old review: I love Key Largo Rods!The owner Rick Berry, has helped me design and manufacture many rods for fishing all over the world. His knowledge on the subject is second to none. I have been using Key Largo Rods for 15 years in my charter business. I have never been charged for any repair or broken blank. BUYER DEFINITELY BEWARE!! I bought a Key Largo rod about 8 years ago. I was told the rod had a lifetime warranty! They LIED, plain and simple! I spoke to Rick, he said I could get half off a new one, that’s not lifetime to me! Especially when the rod costs $200! Buy Cashion guys, they stand behind what they say, they don’t lie! I’ll admit, it was a good rod, until it snapped in half while bringing in a 4 pound speck! To top it off, Rick hung up on me, mid sentence! Just stay away, this is your warning, heed it!

I've known Rick for more than years. Almost 100 percent of my rod angling arsenal comes from his shop. I have rods that are more than 30 years old that are still performing wonderfully. I have always found that Rick stands behind his product. Even when my own stupidity gets in the way, like the time that I hit the garage door remote button and the door came down on the rod, Rick gave me a break on the replacement.

Honestly one of the best shops in the keys for fishing rod components. Actually the best in south Florida!! He knows his product better than anyone in the business!! I ve known Rick for over 40 years and he stands behind his product like no one else!! I ve been a proud user of his rods for many many years.

My fishing family (Father and Brother) have been going to see Rick for over 20 years! When I started making custom tumblers I asked my boyfriend where I could get the epoxy, he said, “who else better to go see to get my epoxy”? Mr. Rick of course!! He ordered FlexCoat, and he keeps it in stock for me! It saves me the hassle of ordering online! I also love his apprentice, Emily! She is a doll! The customer service is AMAZING! Thank you Mr. Rick and Emily for always being open, (there not on island time like other places) and dependable! If I could give this ten Stars I would!

to the people who break their rods by using them incorrectly and then expect a small business owner to dig into his pocket - shame on you. be smart and use proper line size. use each rod for its intended purpose. transport with care and seat in rod holders properly. most of our rods from rick are 6+ years old and we fish hard.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Spoke with Rhick on the phone in reference to warranty and two of my key Largo rods not only was very rude he says the warranty is based off of his opinion rather it was their fault or not, according to all the bait and tackle shops around this company is not warranting or standing behind anything when speaking with Rhick he says that's because they're too busy selling new customers.

Great customer service, great selection, and high quality fishing rods. Great warranty as well! If the rod breaks due to a maufacturers defect then the rod is replaced if something else happend to the fishing rod and you bring the rod to the shop there is a good chance that you can purchase a new one at half the orgional cost. Fair enough.Alan S.
