Words cannot express how much I appreciate Sun surf animal Hospital. We had an urgent care need with our dog this weekend. Thank you, Dr West and all the staff. The Caring and nonjudgmental approach the staff took was much appreciated. Everything was thoroughly explained. The aftercare has been impeccable. Thank you Danielle.

I had brought my dog to the clinic once before for a dental and neuter. During the dental they called and added on a bunch of stuff, which of course nearly doubled the price. But when your dog is under, what else do you do?
This next time I went I brought my dog in for vomiting and possible obstruction/pancreatitis. It ended up being a foreign body obstruction. But the absolute price gouging the clinic did to take advantage of me in a critical time, all because you could, is just testament to their business practices. When I spoke with the vet after the surgery, it was as minimally complicated as he had ever seen with immediate blood flow restoration to the area obstructed in the intestine, no sepsis and no resection (aka should have been on the LOW end of the estimate). But low and behold when I arrived it was at the HIGHEST point of the estimate. And when I questioned it, the doctor had left and the staff couldn’t explain to me why it was so high. Unfortunately I didn’t have the funds to cover the remaining $2200 after I had put down $2700 earlier that day. Yes I signed the estimate so legally I was bound, but after talking with the vet, there was no reason for it to be maxed out at the high end of the estimate whatsoever. The vet refused to give a payment plan and told the staff to hold my dog as collateral, overnight, in an unstaffed hospital, after an emergency exploratory surgery. Not only is that the greediest thing I have ever heard, that’s about as unethical as I can fathom as a previous vet tech who has tended to dozens of critical care patients after such surgeries and instructed owners to not leave the pet alone AT ALL for the first night post-op. I was able to come up with another $1000 but my children’s iPads and iPhone are still currently being held as collateral until the bill is paid. I fully intend on paying the remaining amount as my precious dog’s life was saved but I am beyond disgusted by the greediness of this clinic during someone’s time of need. I will never recommend this clinic again simply because of their shady financial practices. But the staff and care was excellent.
Edit: the owner’s response is once again showing their unprofessional business practices. The emergency surgery was on 7/26, LESS than a month ago. Additionally, I discussed with the staff that due to having three children and back to school costs, I would not be able to pay anything additional until THIS week. There was no signed agreement, minimum payment or timeframe required for payoff. And the only reason there is even documentation of the property exchange is due to my request to cover my bases bc of the lack of business ethics displayed up until that point, and clearly still. But we’re back to why a simple foreign body removal with ZERO complications cost at the high end of the estimate other than “costing less” than other clinics around. Clearly taking advantage of a client during their time of duress to maximize their financial bottom line.

You pay for quality and unfortunately their “affordable” prices mean cheap services and care. Spend the extra and take your animals somewhere else.

This is the best place for your fur babies. Fees are reasonable and everyone is professional and caring.

I've been coming here for years with all of my animals. I will never return again. There are different doctors every time I go, no transparency and scheduling has become a joke. I waited about an hour after my scheduled appointment to be seen for them to treat me like my animal was vicious. My dog sat patiently in the tiny waiting room and never made a sound while other dogs barked and leaped toward her constantly. My dog got 4+ needles inserted and didn't move her head or body once. They had their mind made up that my dog was vicious without even looking at her. The doctor also walked out of the room multiple times while I was in mid sentence voicing my concerns. Terrible service terrible humans. Seems they are just in for the money anymore.

Great place but the lady who has the baby needs to have a hormone panel done on her. Attitude. Great place otherwise

Started with vet as I felt my regular vet prices too high. My cat had kidney disease. Gave me IV bag and needles in lobby and said to use every other day. No demo, no follow-up, get put on hold whenever you call. Good vet for shots and one time visit. A serious long time pet issue I wouldn't recommend. Waiting room not much bigger than an elevator. I've moved back to my vet. I can call them or email questions. They understand a pet owners worry.

I had an urgent care need for my dog. Sun-surf came through with excellent service!! Thank you Dr West and team, also the Vet Nurse for saving my baby. They completely dropped what they were doing to squeeze him in! Blood work and X-rays were started very quickly. Care was impeccable. Fees were explained at each step and printed out for my review. Take home meds were thoroughly explained and professionally labeled. 5 ⭐'s.

This hospital should be shut down and should face more lawsuits this vet hires G.E.D losers people who cant do their job accurately and with ingerity they make exucses instead of helping patients loom at their excuse and comment below avoid tbis place their are better vets in the area this vet has his office manager a little girl named amanda who is rude and has no reason being a manager she clearly has poor customer service experience and only got her job more then likely by screwing her way to the top Has anyone else notice no matter how many times you call this vets office and no one answers

The doctor that we saw was incredibly rude and condescending as if I had no reason for concern. When he finished in our room as we were checking out he made a comment about being happy he "Doesn't have to do this every day" or something very similar to that. There are a million veterinarians out there bud - maybe it's time to find a job away from people.

They always get my Yorkie scheduled right away, have convenient hours, offer special prices, and have done a great job. He has seizures so needs to be seen more often, get bloodwork, and pick up medication, so we have more interaction with the office. They all have done a great job and are friendly. The new Dr J. Is professional and does an excellent job. Highly recommend!

Hello viewers I recently took my dog fluffy for a dental procedure. I have to say I was completely satisfied with Sun Surf and my decision for choosing them as a provider for my little guy. They took complete care of business when it came to resolving any questions and concerns regarding the procedure. My dog had been suffering with halitosis for some time now and quite frankly I tried everything to manage it. Nothing seemed to work and so I decided to get some professional advice and support. I am so glad that I did. It turns out fluffy had 10 rotted teeth and an infection which was the source of his issues that needed to be properly addressed. I have to say the doctor called me and assured me that my dog was doing well under the anesthesia and advised me of what needed to be done. I appreciated that very much. Please do not judge Sun Surf based off a few bad reviews. Everyone’s experience is completely different and a good friend of mine highly recommended them. If your dog needs a procedure please make sure you get pre op lab work done prior to the procedure. It may cost more but will ultimately save your pets life and give you peace of mind. Remember life is short and their lives are shorter so take care of all your loved ones Thank you all at Sun surf Dr. Jay and staff for the wonderful service will definitely be back in the future. Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
