I have worked for Cares 7 years, I love my company. Every job has its ups and downs, no company is perfect. Look at the ratings on all the company's. You'll see they average the same. Cares has been good to me and I've been blessed with Wonderfull client's.

I was having trouble doing community service hours, as my citation was 10 yrs ago, but JOHANNA HENSON, went above and beyond what would ever be expected, especially from HR dept. We are working around that and doing volunteer hours instead. She was way more helpful than she needed to be. Highly recommend!

As an employee, the home health office staff and schedulers are amazing. They have always had great communication with me and have always answered any questions I may have. Shelby and Andrea are 2 of my favorites.

*******???PLEASE READ UPDATE OF JUNE 14TH ********???. I would give them a zero if possible. They are the worst agency they have ever seen. I am suppose to get transportation from them for Drs.appointments.. Although by rights I am entitled to more. You can't reach them. I have had nothing but trouble with them for over a year. I keep having to reschedule Dr.appointsments. For six months. No case manager. They keep getting funds from the state & federal government. Do yourself a favor don't use them unless you want to be treated poorly.*****??JUNE 14TH UPDATE.?*****??? I recently received a phone call from the new Executive Director of programs for Cares. She promised to do better. She scheduled all my trips to Drs. appointments. She has addressed all my issues I had. She admitted there were problems. She apologized for all the problems. I believe things will get better now. I promised to give her time to fix the problems. I also told her I would do what I can to help her since she is new at her job. ** I Would NOW GIVE THEM 3STARS!

My mother used CARES to have them clean her home twice a year for years and she was very pleased. We were told she qualified for monthly cleaning services, so someone came to clean January 2022 for the first time and it was just okay. But hey, it didn’t cost anything. When my mother called to request a cleaning the end of March 2022, our CARES experience became a nightmare. CARES homemaker Cynthia Harris came to my mom’s home on March 31, 2022. She spent less than an hour cleaning. The next morning, I went to the bathroom cabinet to retrieve my mother’s pain medications, and a month’s supply of OxyContin was missing! I called CARES to report the theft. They said I had to file a police report. I went to the police station and I was told I could not file a police report without an affidavit from my mother’s pain management doctor. I went to my mother’s doctor and he refused to sign the affadvit. The upshot? I can’t file a police report against CARES employee Cynthia Harris for stealing a month’s worth of OxyContin out of my mother’s home! Her doctor cannot renew her prescription of OxyContin for a month, per Florida state law. She is taking withdrawal medications now and is suffering greatly. We may have to hospitalize her due to withdrawal side effects. The upshot? We will never use CARES again. They do not vet their employees properly and are hiring thieves.

Zero! Just a big zero! Literally sent an unhinged person to my home. I plan to report them to the State.

Was looking forward to first day back for tai chi at the Elfers location. We're still in the throes of Covid-19 (Florida's 3 highest case count days) and yet there wasn't a single sign or directive posted about following CDC recommendations for masks, social distancing, hand sanitizing, sign in, temperature screening... The only people in the whole building wearing masks were me and the greeter! Cares serves the most vulnerable population many of whom have underlying health conditions. I was shocked at their reckless lack of "care". Won't be back for anything at all until I can feel safe there.

As a local guide, I recommend people to look at other alternatives. Multiple whistle blowers have stated this company is manipulative and doesn’t have the public’s interests in mind. Please be mindful when making your choice to do any work with this company.
