December 2023 by Jim H.
This was first sent to the DMV December 20, 2023:This is serious. I'm trying to get my car painted at Hollywood Toyota, which is under warrantee for the year, make, model, and color. There is no problem there. They will paint my car and supply me with a free rental while the job is being done. But when I get taken to Hollywood Toyota's rental agency (up the road from the dealer's location) and present my driver's license, that's when the problem starts. Below is the website they go to for driver's license verification: services.flhsmv.gov/DLCh… (a clerk allowed me to get a photo of that address) That website stated my DL# H???-???-??-???-? Expired April 1, 2022 - THIS IS WRONG! I verified that same result at home on my PC with this part only: services.flhsmv.gov/dlch… - WRONG AGAIN! But, when I or anyone types in the address on the back of your FL DL: WWW.FLHMV.GOV - YOU GET THE CORRECT STATUS FOR MY FL DL# - H???-???-??-???-? - IS VALID AND EXPIRES O4-01-2030! Since the rental agency is not in Hollywood, I had an officer from the Seminole Police Dept respond for assistance. The officer verified that my license was valid until 04-01-2030, he even showed them the results on his phone. The rental people would not budge. Since it's their policy the officer could do no more. As the driver took me back to get my car before they started the work on it, he told me that that happens to others that insist the agency is wrong. THIS MUST BE CORRECTED, BECAUSE I CAN'T RENT A CAR IF THAT "services" WEBSITE IS USED, AND THERE MAY BE OTHERS! The people at the rental agency just blindly do what they are told and are using a website that is using an old data base. They actually let me, a customer, walk out of the agency without once calling a supervisor who was available. Twice, Tues and Wed (Dec 19 & 20). The women running that agency for Hollywood Toyota have no common sense, to say the least and lack the proper training to deal with customers. Their decision making has cost Hollywood Toyota a customer. I was told to call the DMV on the phone. THEY DON'T ANSWER THEIR PHONES! What happened to the old saying, "THE CUSTOMER'S ALWAYS RIGHT"? Even the people back at the main building - did nothing to keep me from leaving Hollywood Toyota TWICE! I'll be sure to spread the word.UPDATE: January 18, 2024First let me get the name of the dealer right. It's not Hollywood Toyota its Toyota of Hollywood. It took Angel Cardenas and his team to finally get the ball rolling. I arrived the next day and was promptly taken care of. They had me driven to Enterprise to pick up the rental. I was put in a Toyota Avalon Limited, what a sweet car. In less than two weeks, got the call that my vehicle was ready. When I arrived, I spotted my vehicle and it looked like a brand new car. Dropping off the rental was as easy as exchanging the Avalon key fob for my key fob, it was that simple. It's because of Angel Cardenas stepping up with his team that that has renewed my faith in Toyota of Hollywood. I give Angel Cardenas and his team Five Stars for their exemplary customer service. The Service Manager, John Diaz - never returned my call, Brianna.

This is the most unserious car dealership I have ever stepped inside of. I went in at 930pm and waited until 945pm and no one even thought to greet me. This is by far the worst Toyota in the south Florida. If you are looking to purchase a Toyota I would highly recommend not coming here.

They advertise having new cars for 20,000 but when u get there nothing in stock. Just a lie to get you there. Then they offer you an extended warranty a waste of money . Pre paid maintenance another waste of money. Avoid the crooks if you can.

Stay away from this nightmare dealership. Basically, your stereotypical car lot. I I called and spoke with one of their sales reps who bragged about how "big our dealership is" and how many cars they sell. Typical sales bs. I then sent text messages to this guy because we were ready to buy a vehicle. He never sent a text back. Eventually, I called the lot and got ahold of someone who told me over the phone that the specific vehicles I wanted were on the lot. Because I am busy running a couple of businesses, I did all of my research online and saw two vehicles I was interested in at the dealership. We show up one hour later and they "magically disappear". The sales guy was disrespectful and lacked integrity. He even got upset with us when we decided to leave because the car we wanted was no longer on the lot. Went to another lot and bought a vehicle the next day.

A guy in the Service Department told me that I couldn't get a replacement key there. That I would have to call a locksmith & pay $200-300 for a replacement key. Then, someone else here told us that they could give a replacement key there. But, of course their key cutter doesn't work. How convenient Went to the Toyota in North Miami & got the replacement key the same day. For $30Also, we called Toyota Hollywood before we came & they told us that they could do it

Worst service ever. Avoid this place. I had my appointment for service at 7:15 am. It’s 11:15 now and I’m still waiting for an oil change… not worth it. I am editing this review to include that the Service manager contacted me here but he has been unresponsive. I left 5 voice messages in the provided phone number and called several times to Toyota of Hollywood phone number and nothing! Extremely disappointed by this Toyota dealer...

Worst experience ever at a dealership. Complete bait and switch. Lies upon lies of what cars they had "in stock" (which they later said could be 6 to 30 days before the car actually is at the dealership. What a joke) lied about what the prices were and lied about their interest rate specials, etc. I confronted manager and then confronted the actual customer service rep that lied to us on the internet chat and the phone. Their job on the telephone or the Internet is to tell you whatever they need to tell you to get you in the door. Thats their job. Then a sales person will try to upsell you once you get there. The sales people are abrupt and aggressive . They have enough business coming in to where they feel like they can do this to people and I really feel sorry for so many customers that were around us that I knew were being taken advantage of. Do yourself a favor and stay away. And, after reading these reviews, I see that there's going to be a fake woman named Brianna with a fake photo that's going to make it look like they really care about our comments here. Do not be fooled by this scheme. I watched behind the scenes and this is how the whole operation is run from the top down. It's a joke to them and their job is to steal as much as they can. Don't let them take advantage of you or your family members. And "Brianna" do me a favor. Do not reply back with your BS. Your concern will fall on deaf ears.

On sep 23 I took my wife car for an oil change and a leaking sunroof on our 2014 RAV 4 . I told my advisor, David Silva, that I believe that the drain lines under the sunroof are clogged. 2 Hr latter Mr. silva called me and told me that the sunroof seal need to be replaced and that the drain lines are not clogged, he also said that my front breaks are "metal to metal" and must be replace. Total coast : $2000.00 after taxes I rejected the service, cause I smelled that something is wrong. I got home, and open the drain lines that were clogged using a long wire, later, I check the breaks and I notice that I hade over 5 millimeters to go ( another 6 month easy) So I Don't know what to say, We been using Toyota of Hollywood forever, but not anymore. I was inch away from throwing 2K that wasn't necessary, but if it was my mom , she would have paid that ..I don't recommend to no one to work with business that give commission to their advisors and mechanics, Of Course that they will try to get you, this is South Florida.

Not how I wanted to spend my Sunday but due to an emergency it had to be, this unused to be my favorite dealership as this is where we buy all our cars or used to anyways. They used to have top notch auto service and customer Service but now they are mediocre.* Called first before showing up Spoke to Crockett who informs me to come to the dealer and park in front and ask for him that he would meet me, after 100 salesman tried to get my attention even after telling them who I was meeting. Crockett never came to greet it meet me. I got carried away by Carlos who said he worked for Crockett wand would take care since he was always in meeting "on a Sunday right ok" well Carlos did take care of the situation but I had to repeat my issue to him and 1 more person.* Now let's go back to the receptionist now I know why they are always hiring!! I asked for her name but strangely no one knew her name but she was working today Sunday 8/12 @ approximately 12:25pm and sitting on the last spot left of reception when you come in through the front at that time the only one there. She was rude and possibly hates her job I approached and had to wait for her to get off her phone and as she did the dirtiest look , eye rolling and attitude you can imagine she gave as if I was disturbing her. Not for today be in the front taking care of clients specially when it was not busy at all. 4 hrs later Juan in service area said they change the battery, filled my tires and said I have nothing wrong with the lights even he sounded like he was lost didn't know what I was talking about and spurted out an answer just to answer.*Because of people like these we have taking our business of car buying somewhere else. But due to the emergency with my car I had to come here and what a mistake same rude and not caring people.

We purchased a new Camry at the NEW car lot yesterday and had the most pleasurable experience. Our salesman, Robert M., was very knowledgeable and congenial. We felt we got a great deal and was happy not to have to wait 2 months for a new car. The showroom was very inviting, the finance and insurance team were great to work with. On the other hand, we first went to the pre-owned lot, which was located on the west side of 441 and north of the new car building. This was a 3-ring circus. Sales associates were running around in complete chaos, we started with 1 salesman who abruptly left, this really happened 4 times, until we walked out. The facility is filthy; tires, broken glass and McDonald bags strewn in the parking lot. Never have we experienced such a rogue business. Honestly, I do not see how Toyota of Hollywood can be associated with this.
