The coziest piece of paradise close to home. The grounds are kept beautifully by the Coast Guard and the cottage keeper. They have monthly tours of the lighthouse, you can find the schedule when you Google Hillsboro Lighthouse Tours. You get there by boat from the Sands Resort dock. I highly recommend.

Lovely little inlet and park. Great view of lighthouse, which I was told is private access but has once a month sign up for a tour. So peaceful. As a Florida girl who moved away I seek out new places when I come home and this one was so beautiful. Picturesque.

So this is not a public place!! It is actually inside of a private club, no restaurants, no beach access. You can still sit in the park just in front of the lighthouse. This spot is stunning ? and the water is as blue as you can tell in the pictures!
The Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society preserves and maintains the lighthouse and its grounds as an aid to navigation and for the public and future generations to enjoy. The lighthouse is open for tours one day each month. On tour days, guests can reach the lighthouse by boat after a brief sail along the Intracoastal Waterway. Visit our web site for tour dates, times, footwear requirements and shuttle boat locations. On non-tour days, the best place to view the lighthouse is at Hillsboro Inlet Park on A1A.
