About Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse
The Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse is a historic and stunning must-visit attraction. Built in 1874, it is the tallest lighthouse in Florida, standing 175 feet tall with a beam visible for 28 nautical miles. It offers panoramic, picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Hillsboro Inlet, and the surrounding area. The lighthouse and its beautiful grounds are preserved and maintained as an aid to navigation. It is open for public tours one day each month, requiring a brief boat ride along the Intracoastal Waterway. On non-tour days, the best place to view the lighthouse is at the adjacent Hillsboro Inlet Park. The spot is a lovely, peaceful, and cozy piece of paradise. Visitors can learn about the lighthouse's history, its role in navigation, and local marine life through educational exhibits and a small museum. The park setting is beautiful, featuring a beach, a playground, a picnic area, and hiking trails. It is a great place to spend an afternoon, enjoy the stunning views, and watch activities like kiteboarding. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. While the lighthouse itself is not a public place with restaurants or direct beach access, the park in front provides a beautiful place to sit and enjoy this special, amazing historic landmark. It is a truly unique place that offers something for everyone.
I really didn't visit the lighthouse I was real close to it I was on Deerfield Beach and I seen it and googled it

“Intersection at Hillsboro Blvd with Riverview Rd. Clean area, nice view with palm trees and good bike lane. Traffic flows well.”

Beautiful venue, private military access only although the adjacent private country club guests think they are special and will walk into the area and act like they own the place.
