Waited on hold for half an hour for a couple questions I had. I hung up and called again and low and behold someone answered right away, never gave me an explanation as to why I waited for 30 mins when someone was obviously available to talk to me. When I had an actual conversation with someone the call lasted 3 mins. Crazy how I had to wait that long for 3mins of someone’s time. Am most definitely going with another uhaul in town. Something this small just tells me my move would be miserable if I had to just wait 30 mins for a couple questions. But I hope other people have a more enjoyable experience with y’all.

Trailer was full of wet sand. Had to hose and scrub the entire inside of the trailer and wait till it was dry before putting in my things. The trailer still was full of sand after I tried cleaning it Inside and filled all of my personal things full of sand

Worst customer service EVER!!!! The general manager stays on the phone with his "girl" more than he helps customers. I rented a van, and they waited till 3 days before my trip to inform me that because my drivers licenses was from a small town 5 miles away, I couldn't rent it. For real... not joking. Then I was supposed to get a trailer hitch installed.... I don't even have the time to tell you about the worst service ever! Drove there 5 times and still didn't get it done. They ordered wrong parts, then told me I had to go to Home Depot to purchase a $50 part or they couldn't do it, then it didn't work anyway! Then didn't want to refund my payment! Small claims court here we go!! I will NEVER go there again, nor will I suggest anyone else. The guy who wrote about a lot of guys standing around not helping is 100% the truth! They are all on their cell phones chatting!

Everything was fine with the truck that I rented however, the experience with rental staff left a lot to be desired. Initially they charged me more that what was noted in the reservation. The clerk did not review charges prior to giving me the invoice and the invoice was more than what was noted on the online reservation. It took some time for the clerk to correct the issue and resulted in my being charged twice (although he did say the initial charge would drop off after a few days). The most disconcerting interaction during check out was another employee handling a personal issue over the phone. She was VERY loud, so loud I had to ask the clerk to repeat himself several times. It seemed everyone there was more concerned with themselves and their own lives rather than ensuring the customer was taken care of. It's clear that the customer is secondary in this location. Do Better!

I was there last Friday and the girl at the front desk was absolutely clueless on how to do her own job. If this lady tells you that you have to have a Gainesville address to rent a uhaul, it’s because she fails to know her own policies. After she refused to let us pick up our reservation, it completely messed up our entire day moving which was our only day we had available in our work week to move. I called corporate to see what was going on because we have rented uhaul’s in the past and i was told that you need a Gainesville address OR a student ID to rent a pick up truck or van, but a VALID DRIVERS LICENSE to rent a box truck or bigger. I worked three shifts in a row at the hospital and then after work everyday had to haul stuff in my car back and forth between our apartment while 5 months pregnant. Thankfully my apartment complex gave me an extension for us to move and on Tuesday was able to rent a uhaul from the one close to Williston with absolutely no issues. She was disrespectful and ugly the entire time. Uhaul should be reevaluate having an employee like her work for them.

Would be great if these people would set up the over night (or 24/7) truck rentals. Specially when you do it hours in advance AND call them to ask them if they have that option available and they say “yes”. So you do it right away online and you tell them you’re doing it. So they are very aware and they still don’t set it up. How hard can it be. Do your job.

I have booked a 9' van with my international driver license and made my online check-in, but when I arrived there the attendant told me that I couldn't rent that vehicle. He recognized that there is a flaw in the online system that does not aware people with international driver license that they are not allowed to rent that specific vehicle.As a consequence, the only vehicle available for me was a much more expensive one. All the process I made before going to the office was useless.

The first employee that I encountered (Elijah) was rude and disrespectful. I spoke to Charlie over the phone two times about my plans before I booked online. I had a reservation for a cargo van as I had discussed with Charlie. I was never informed that I needed a license with a G'ville address. Elijah treated me as though I was the issue. He told me I would not get a van and there was no work around for that rule. I ended up having to call the manager who Elijah told me would give me the same answer. The manager informed me all I needed was a UF ID from my student. When I got off the phone and infomred Elijah that would have been great to tell me instead of me asking and him saying there was no solution. That made him angry and he got cocky and asked with a lot of attitude "where she at?" I called the manager back and told him how rude Elijah was and he said he would give me a discount for having to deal with Elijah. While this scene was all going on, another couple came in and was given the last van on the lot, even though I had a reservation. I then called the manager 8 times before he answered. While I was doing that, Gage began to assist me and he secured me a truck instead of a van. He let me use a truck that was reserved for 6 PM the next day and my reservation was not supposed to end until 6:45 PM. He very politely asked me to get it back by 6:00, so I would not get him in trouble. We raced the next day to return it by 6. I returned it at 5:50 and the couple who had reserved it were right behind me. All of this could have been solved digitally with notices on your website including the sign in porcess where I had uploaded my FL DL and was still not informed of the "rules". Charlie also could have communicated it to me when he and I spoke on two different days of me calling to ask questions about renting the cargo van. Elijah should have been infomred that it could have been done with a UF student ID. Moving is stressful enough. Elijah and the Gainesville address policy need to be addressed. However, GAGE was a rockstar and really came through for me. He deserves a bonus/raise for his calm demeanor and customer service. When I returned the truck Julie took care of applying a $10 discount. That was nice, but I feel like UHaul in general handled the situation poorly. KUDOS to Gage. Then three days later my daughter's boyfriend moved and he too had a disastrous issue with trying to pick his truck up that he rented. I called and Gage did all he could to help and then Julie stepped up and fixed it all, so my daughter's boyfriend could get his belongings moved. Both Gage and Julie should be rewarded.

They claim to refill propane tanks. I’ve stopped by multiple times and the woman behind the counter has a different excuse every time of why she can’t fill it. Today it was because it’s “raining”. While it had been raining on and off today at that moment it was not in fact raining.The time before that it was because it was they don’t fill tanks 30 min before closing and the time before that there wasn’t anyone certified to fill the tank on site.

I don’t write reviews for literally anything. But I need to warn the good working folks. I would give zero if I could. This location makes the entire uhaul organization look bad. I’ve rented uhauls in multiple states and never had any issues. Let’s just list the many issues:1. They have a nonsense rule that you MUST have a Florida license with a Gainesville address. (According to uhaul corporate, that’s is not true). I’m from out of state here for just a few short years for school and then I’m going elsewhere. I have a shiny, just renewed valid license from Mississippi that I’ve rented a uhaul with prior. Strike one.2. I had a Venmo credit card to use, which is a credit card issued by synchrony bank and is a part of the Visa card network. They said I couldn’t use it because it had the Venmo logo on it, because “they don’t own the trucks and we could steal them and then cancel the charge on them” newsflash, you could do that with any major credit card! I booked online with the card, why can’t you just honor it? Also, the website says I could use a debit card or even cash. So regardless, my card would still be eligible even if you didn’t consider it a credit card.3. The place is staffed with folks that are a few clowns short of a circus. Distracted/inattentive. Unhelpful. Talking across to the customers at another person’s station while ignoring their own customer.4. Location is a pain, almost no parking. Store is gritty and dirty. I’ve never seen another uhaul location look this bad.I say all of that to say GO TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. Let this place rot and close. A stain on GNV.

Called at 5 pm the night before needing to rent either a 6x12 ‘cargo trailer or a 15’. Box truck. I was told if I wanted the truck to reserve and was also told they had 3 trailers . I decided I wanted a trailer so didn’t feel the need to reserve. Arrived just 8 and 2 customers were in line in front of me . One lady was arguing about the price on everything from the rental cost to the cost of packing tape . The other customer was with an employee that had a manager badge on and it didn’t seem like they were making progress in whatever they were doing . The manager kept messing around with 2 cell phones that seemed to be his own personal. I was not greeted by anyone and kept waiting . About 22 minutes pass and then I tell the non manager staff member that I was there to rent a trailer . He then told me there were none even though there were 3 in the lot . I was beyond frustrated and decided to pick up my trailer closer to my job location in Wildwood . That experience was much better .
