So I wanted to update my previous post here. Fresh Market takes care of their customers. Tai (Ty) is an absolute amazing person. Even with being new to the Fresh Market family, her customer service is outstanding. I was frantically trying to find some provisions for the storm and not only did they have some, she went out of her way to pull items for me so when I got off of work I had supplies. They have regained my loyalty. Quality products and amazing staff.

A Wednesday Labor Day Sale email ad promised bone-in rib steaks for a members-only price of $10.99.
I went to the Gainesville store at midday on Thursday ready to buy, only to discover the meat department had NO bone-in rib steaks, none.
I got no apology, no rain check. So I drove over to Publix, which also had the same cut on sale, and bought two steaks.

I recently visited Fresh Market, and I must express my deep disappointment with the current state of cleanliness and overall hygiene in the store. It is evident that the management has significantly overlooked maintaining basic cleanliness standards, leading to an unpleasant and unsanitary shopping experience. We have shopped here for over thirty years. This last year this store has plummeted.
Firstly, the display cases were visibly dirty, with noticeable oil stains, handprints, and even hair on the surfaces. This lack of cleanliness is unacceptable, especially for a store that prides itself on offering fresh, high-quality products. The presence of mold on the cheeses further highlights a concerning neglect in maintaining proper storage and hygiene practices.
Additionally, the floors were in poor condition, appearing as though they had not been swept properly in some time. Dust was visibly accumulating in and around the cases, contributing to an overall sense of neglect. For a store that markets itself as a purveyor of premium goods, such disregard for cleanliness is deeply concerning.
It is my hope that the management will address these issues promptly and take the necessary steps to restore the store to the high standards that customers expect. Until these matters are resolved, I find it difficult to recommend Fresh Market to anyone who values a clean and hygienic shopping environment.

Love this place. Can't say enough about it! Been shopping here for years. But recently spoke with the manager about the deli over cooking the rotisserie chickens. I love their thursday deals and that's when I buy the chickens. The last six weeks someone's been over cooking them and spoke with the manager about my concerns that the legs and wings are dry like jerkey. I was hoping the following week it would be better but it wasn't. I guess I might have to buy them somewhere else.

I've been going to Fresh Market for their Parmigiano reggiano cheese, but it's really hit or miss and I don't understand why. To their credit they cut their cheese from large parmigiano reggiano blocks, but almost every piece seems to include large pieces of the cheese rind. The last two times I was there all that was available were pieces that were at least 40% rind or more. Some were all rind at >$20/pound. The last two visits the nearly empty parmigiano reggiano basket was sitting on a huge, uncut parmigiano reggiano block with only 2-3 pieces of cut cheese that were more than half rind. Something is off....

I tried the Ensalada pizza from your Gainesville, FL store at about 6:30 PM on 06/23/24 (my birthday, actually). There were none in the case so the clerk prepared it. I went directly home, a 5 minute drive..
The pizza was a big disappointment. it was barely warm, the crust was not baked adequately, and the meager toppings were falling off. After moving toppings from one half to the other, and baking it in my oven, it tasted ok. Is half a pizza better than none? Maybe.
At $9.99, plus tax, your new pizza does not appeal.

Still a very , organized, clean, and friendly, place.And Yes we know it's a market, Not a Restaurant,But when buying their onsite made meals, off the menu,Be prepared for Smaller portions, higher prices, and way more fries then food.We had the fish fry & Shrimp fry.Fish fry was more like fish nuggets, fresh made,And shrimp meal was , fresh, and yet buried under all the fries.We understand the cost of living going up.But pick one,Either raise the prices,OrShrink the portionsNot Both, please.

Fresh Market is nice but I only frequent for certain items. Crab cakes are pretty good. Top tier crab cakes use to be super but recipe (their supplier's) seems off lately. Produce exceptional. Meat, not really into meat lately but will buy their ground sirloin and chicken while there. Even though there is a seafood market in the center, Fresh Market needs to up choices on selection of fish. Same selection as Publix.

The freshest produce an outstanding cuts of meats (i.e. pork steaks. ribs) worth the price.
