Tried twice through the website to get a response for appointment request. Per the site, front desk, someone will respond within 24 hours. No response. This needs to be removed from the site as this is CLEARLY a lie. Yes, I could call, it’s the fact, they say they will respond in 24 hours and never do!

10:30 a.m. Hailey was ready to cut my hair. I have a chair, approved by my doctor, Dr. James DeStephens, that I use while waiting for total hip replacement scheduled for August 14, 2024. The chair is low and allows my feet to be squarely on the ground. If my legs dangle, there is excruciating pain in my damaged hip. The special chair I use was first approved by Dr. DeStephens for my personal use during a state testing exam and I will include Dr. DeStephen's letter here. Hailey, the cosmetology student, was already brushing my hair, getting ready to cut it. She understood that I needed to remain in my own chair as an ADA accommodation. When suddenly, out of nowhere, an instructor with a Hispanic accent (I didn't catch her name, so that's how I am identifying her) came over and became very long- winded and immediately argumentative with me, insisting that I MUST climb into the tall beauty school chair. I explained that I cannot do that. She rebutted, asking how did I lift the chair out of my car and insisting that if I lifted the special chair out of my car then I must be able to sit in the beauty school chair for "safety". I explained to her that my chair is safe and I demonstrated its sturdiness. She then said she would not tolerate rudeness when SHE was the only one being rude. She huffed off to get another instructor/supervisor. I left. I asked Google when I returned home, "Is a beauty salon supposed to accommodate a handicapped person?" The answer: Yes, hair salons are considered places of public accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and must be ADA compliant. And here also: Her rudeness and control freak mode was extremely offensive. Several students looked on as she prattled on and on, obviously embarrassed by the instructor's heavy-handed treatment of me. They all remained silent, obviously intimidated by her presence. I will also file this complaint with the BBB for all to see. By the way, I used to work as a seminar leader teaching customer service skills for Dun and Bradstreet Business Educational Services. The instructor's behavior was appalling. She needs training in customer service skills. I also filed an official complaint with ADA for this beauty academy's non-compliance. Date of incident: June 3, 2024.

I was getting a blowout for an event, but sadly they called me the morning of my service to cancel because the stylist "had left." If I'd had more than 6.5 hours notice I likely would have been able to make a backup plan.

So my wife and I went to Summit hair salon a few months back my wife wanted to have her hair done. We had a very nice time the lady in the picture she was the hairstylist and she did a very nice job. At the same time when we were getting serviced by this lady, we were having a casual conversation about life, religion, and Topics like that . At no time during the conversation, did the young lady seem uncomfortable. Actually, totally the opposite after the lady Got finished doing my wife’s hair she took a book from us. The book was about religion and also agreed to take a picture with us as you can see in the picture she didn’t look agitated or anything. What happened was maybe some of her coworkers might’ve been agitated and reported it to The manager or whomever is in charge at that time. So when we Tried to come back to get another appointment around a month later, they told us we could not come back. When I asked the reason why the staff there were extremely rude, and they even acted in a threatening manner . So I posted a review online about the incident so the manager or somebody called us back around couple of days later and said it was all right for us to come back . So On the day we were scheduled to come in to get my wife’s hair done. They looked up on their board and they said the lady who was supposed to come in to do. It didn’t come in So instead of being professional about it, they made some lame excuse. The manager and quite a few of the coworkers were very rude . The Only two person that were professional were Alexia and the lady who did my wife’s hair on her first appointment . We will never come back to this place again But we will definitely look at our resources to put a complaint in with the federal government . We were definitely discriminated against because of religion. And they do get funding from the federal government. Their students go to learn how to do hair they get federal funding. The manager and some of the staff there are very low class people and I hope that they close this operation down . Also, we will put in a complaint with our US representative in Congress . Boycott Summit hair salon .

I was a little hesitant because of the reviews, but also understood it's a learning facility! I took the chance anyways and am glad I did because Avi was amazing! She was really personable and made it super comfortable, switching from having conversation and then having comfortable silence when I needed it! I'm so excited to be able to have her do my hair even after she graduates later this year! I got an all over color to my natural hair, and it looks so good! I think it's important to note that they are students, and if you want to pay the cheaper price you have to be understanding and showing grace at the fact they will confer with their teachers. But even so, I enjoyed my experience especially when they gave me tips about my hair, the bang length for my facial structure, etc!

They're horrible. No supplies, dirty stations, loud and ignorant. This place of business is very unprofessional. Don't be fooled by the entry way. Totally ghetto.

They recently changed their prices to match JC Penny hair salon prices, but why? JC Penny hair stylists are experts, Summit Salon are ALL still students. Why would anyone want to pay top dollar for someone still learning to do hair vs that same price for someone who knows what they are doing aka Experts?I left and immediately went to JCPenny. I actually ended up saving money with JCPennny instead!

It doesn't matter if you make an appointment with these people, if the student decides they don't want or need to come in, THEY DONT! Called to make an appointment in the middle of the week, gave me a Saturday time but when I got there after traveling there clear across town I was told the student called in and would I like to make another appointment. With the price of gas today I did not want to risk another failed no show from the student. There was not courtesy call to let me know student could not come in, instead all I got was a very rude , purple/green haired women who could care less what the customer needed. I have been going to his establishment for year's but I understand that a lot of the instructors who CARED are now gone and replaced with a crew that knows absolutely nothing about running a successful business. You don't treat customers the way purple/green haired woman did. I would not shed one tear if Summit Salon crashed and burned, especially not for the kind of non-caring employees running that business now. Save your hard earned money ladies and go to a salon who gives a damn.

Unless you want to spend 9 HOURS for them to completely RUIN your hair and leave looking WORSE than when you came in, do not go here. I wouldn't go back if they paid me a million dollars.

I have received inconsistent service from this organization. It is sometimes very a hard to schedule an appointment. It’s a lot of unprofessional, and non- organizational things that’s happen to often for me.

If ur looking to attend school, don’t come here. They don’t teach you anything, u have to teach yourself, and all they do is take ur money. Supplies, u have to buy your own because they never have anything. My class went through 3 instructors. Still never learned anything. Wasn’t taught over half of the things that I paid for that was advertised on the website. Oh and they’re supposed to help you build a resume and find a job for after u graduate, never did that either. If this is the closest school and the next one is an hour or two away, go drive or move to the other one cuz this place will literally take every penny from you. I’m going on month 3 since graduating and still waiting for my license, when all of this should’ve been processed and done before graduating.
