Overall a great hospital. Definitely on the higher end of vet cost spectrum but it's forsure justified with their care and hospital. They're AAHA certified, have a super cute hospital, all the front desk staff and technicians are super nice, the doctors are great as well! Plus I feel their appointment availability is great. Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic experience at Suburban Animal Hospital with Dr. Nipper and the entire team. My cat, Cas, recently had a wellness exam and bloodwork done, and I couldn't be happier with the care he received. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff prioritized a fear-free environment, which put both Cas and me at ease. Dr. Nipper's knowledge and expertise were evident throughout the visit. They took the time to explain everything to me in a way that was easy to understand, and I felt confident in their recommendations. Cas, who can be a bit apprehensive at the vet, was surprisingly calm and content during the entire visit, a testament to the gentle and caring approach of Dr. Nipper and the nurses. I truly appreciate the exceptional care provided to Cas and the outstanding service we received at Suburban Animal Hospital. It's evident that the team here is dedicated to the well-being of their patients, and I couldn't be more pleased with our experience. Thank you, Dr. Nipper, and the entire staff at Suburban Animal Hospital, for making Cas's visit a positive and stress-free one!

When I say that I have never been so happy to leave a review! And I did this as I'm sitting in the office. I left another vet because they took 5 days to return a phone call and I read reviews and stumbled upon suburban. Dr. Ahn and Dr. Hope are amazing they cared for my dog and made sure she was taken care of. The issue I couldn't get a return call on was an infection so I'm lucky I found them! Best vet ever! And I never leave reviews. You won't go wrong switching vets. I also love the way the staff is so nice! All of them even the way the interact with each other.

This has to be the best veterinary clinic EVER! And Dr. Ahn is AMAZING!!! I'd give them a hundred stars but 5 is as high as this goes. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT place that really CARES about your pet. Love this place and these people!!

500% over cost mark up on everything and they're more concerned about the business than your pet. Got annual shots for pupper and they wanted $70 for the tag on the collar, in addition to the $900 I had already spent. Lol. You can keep your green and pink and blue hair the bone in your noses and weird ideas about pet identity. So done with this place.

We've been taking our pets to Suburban since 2014 upon receiving a glowing recommendation from a trusted friend, and we've had wonderful experiences with every vet, tech, assistant, and member of the support staff we've seen there. We've been in to the clinic quite a bit the last few months with each of our three pets, so I thought it was time to share our experiences in the hopes it might help anyone looking for a veterinary practice here in Gainesville. Our cats and dog have been through regular checkups, dental procedures, surgeries, diagnostics in times of stress, worked-in appointments for more immediate medical attention, and boarding with Suburban. We have never had a bad experience or left the clinic feeling that we had an incomplete picture, or wishing more had been done for our pets. The vets don't push services, but give you the full picture of what a certain diagnostic work up will involve, what's really necessary to get the best idea of what's going on with your pet, and the pros and cons of going with any particular course of treatment. They quickly and openly provide estimates and I've never had any surprises when it comes time to pay the bill. An open line of communication is kept the day of any procedure your pet will go through. I feel completely confident anytime we leave our pets in the care of Suburban's professionals. The current doctors at Suburban that we have seen are Dr. Blair and Dr. MacDonald, and they both have such wonderful ways of connecting with and handling our pets, as well as maintaining clear and compassionate communication with us. Both are very thorough and thoughtful in their check ups and in recommending what to do for our pets. The techs and veterinary assistants are knowledgeable and gentle with our pets. The staff are also very helpful in facilitating paperwork for pet insurance reimbursements and pre-authorizations. In the past month I had to bring in my cat, who has a history of a mast cell tumor, when we found a new bump on her skin. It was in a spot that lended itself well to examination, and Dr. Blair was able to test and diagnose the bump as another mast cell tumor within fifteen minutes of us entering the exam room. After Dr. Blair helped me to understand the potential implications and courses of action with regards to the diagnosis, I chose to have another round of testing done to assess for internal mast cell disease. By the next week, the testing was done and she was scheduled for surgery to remove the tumor. She's doing great and I'm so relieved. We got through what felt like a really stressful situation with the help and guidance of Dr. Blair, and I'm so grateful. Overall, I can't think of any way that Suburban could improve the level of care provided to pets and their owners, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking to switch practices or establish care for their pets.

Was looking to establish a new vet for my dog and was referred here by several people. A visit was $69 so I brought him in for a dental cleaning consult and for recent loss of hair around eyes ..Everyone waits in their vehicles outside. I told the vet tech that came out to take my dog that I would pay for a culture to be done on the hair loss around eyes to make sure it wasn't fungal. He is constantly outside and lays on the marsh ground..Well a culture wasn't done and the Vet prescribed cipro (which doesn't work on fungal and should only be given if other antibiotics fail because it can cause more health issues) and apoquel which literally can kill my dog. Oncologists know about the dangers of apoquel and it should NOT be given, it should be taken off the market. The negative outweighs the possible positives. (Side effects being lymphoma/Cancer,pneumonia, malignant neoplasms, lowered red+white blood cell count ect ) If your dog has skin issues, it's most likely caused from a weakened immune system and I strongly suggest educating yourself before you give any medicine to your pet that could harm it while in a compromised state. I returned the apoquel after speaking to the vet and have him on the cipro which I'm not happy about. I was putting CURASEB spray on the hair loss for possible fungal infection prior to the vet visit and continued after the vet visit and it's clearing up nicely. I feel the cipro was unnecessary but understand it was given out of caution. Not sure why the vet chose cipro over everything else but perhaps the office receives incentives for the sale. My bill for that visit ended up being close to $200 which was a surprise. I had to request the cost for the dental cleaning after my visit, which was a $600 estimate not including any teeth removal or extra costs, astronomical! They were very busy both times I stopped by and I noticed that they are remodeling their dental facility now..which explains the excessive estimate for teeth cleaning... this place is not for me! The vet tech was awesome and customer service is good, however this experience has left me uneasy and I will unfortunately not be returning.

Very unhappy with "service" provided recently. Dog had two serious issues that they did nothing for but the bill was very high. Pushed some unnecessary unrelated tests that the dog did not need. Waited two hours. While I was waiting in the parking lot they claimed that they had been calling me but my phone did not ring. Then they claimed they had issues with their phones. I'm not sure that they know what they are doing. Very expensive for nothing. My dog still has serious issues but they did not help. I'll be finding another vet.

I've trusted Suburban with the care of my dogs for decades. The front desk staff is caring and juggles the phones and the intakes with great skill. The techs are kind and highly skilled. The vets care for my dogs with great skill and compassion. I trust this team completely and feel totally at ease when my dogs are in their care. This practice is busy for a good reason...it is simply the best in Gainesville.

This establishment clearly has staff that are not attentive. I was trying to get a visit scheduled for my dog to only wait an hour in my car because of their lack of consideration. I was not amused and then was put on hold. Mind you I live less a mile away from this place. I will not be returning unless management gives me a call.

Came here twice with my cat. Vet and vet techs took their time to make her feel comfortable. The first exam was to follow up after she was diagnosed with kidney disease. And my cat is very shy and skidding vet made her feel comfortable by preforming her exam mostly under as blankets. Looked ridiculous but helped my cat feel secure. Sadly we had to put her down after a couple months because she was not doing well. Staff was understanding giving us peace, time and comfort for me and my cat. Highly recommend if you want a vet that actually cares for the animal.

Kind of expensive and didn't listen very well - pushed a lot of questionable tests and stuff and wanted to run up thousands in diagnostics when I was not prepared to be that aggressive with a dying animal. They seem professional and knowledgeable on the whole, just kind of hard sell experience

We took our cat here immediately after he was attacked by a dog just because it was the closest animal hospital to where we were, but we ended up being very impressed with it. They were able to see our cat for an emergency consultation immediately and the staff was quick, honest, and thorough. Dr. Sammy is amazing - he is so genuine and was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. For how great the hospital is, it is in my opinion fairly moderate in price. Any extra that you would pay by choosing Suburban is very worth its fantastic care.
