“The Laurel Oak Inn is our favorite place to stay in Gainesville. Located just a few blocks from downtown, it’s within walking distance of several great restaurants and nightspots. The accommodations are comfortable and luxurious, striking the perfect balance without feeling stuffy. Innkeeper Jacquelyn and her husband, Mike, are truly wonderful hosts. They went above and beyond to care for us during the last hurricane, providing exceptional service during a difficult time. The breakfast and newly minted dinner menu feature tasty, home-cooked meals. I can't say enough good things about this lovely inn and the kind people who run it!”
“A home away from home,
we stayed here during the Hurricate Milton evacuation and could not have chosen a better place to stay. The innkeepers, Mike and Jacqueline are wonderful, supportive and kind. The home-cooked breakfast every day was phantastic, as were the high-end shower amenities, super plush towels, superb bedding and lovely decorative touches. The inn has a darling wrap-around porch with comfy seats and is superbly located in downtown Gainesville.”
“This is a wonderful place to stay from the welcoming front desk staff to the hard work I witnessed the whole stay from the housekeeping and food hospitality staff. Very professional customer service. The only complaint i have is our microwave in our room was on the verge of breaking it made such loud noises when we used it. I told the front staff about it and he said he would have maintenance come swap out the microwave and they never came. Other than that
nothing but positive experiences. Great breakfast. Clean throughout. Coffee & hot cocoa packets available 24/7. Zero chemical Eco friendly products in pump dispensers in room for soap, shampoo, lotion, shower gel etc.
Nearby activities: Just half mile from stores and restaurants. Publix, target, mcdonalds, first watch, chic-fil-a, Bath & Body, several gas stations etc.”
“We’ve stayed at the Gateway several times.
We are always satisfied. They have the BEST breakfast! I only wish that Gainesville had more than one BW hotel. It books quickly for special events.”
“Only complaints here...pillows could have been bigger and eggs at breakfast were extremely bland.
Other than that, the place was fantastic....soooo much better than what you would expect from the VERY affordable price.”
“It's wonderful to see a staff buy-in and exude what I imagine is Hyatt's idea of great customer experience. Hope you pay them, or it won't last too long.Vibrant college downtown's parking can be a challenge. There is a multi-story garage within walking distance.Nearby activities: Just look out the window!Walkability: Anywhere you'd care to go.”

4110 SW 40th Blvd, Gainesville“Not quite sure why but the lady in the morning that prepares the breakfast has some fouibles about her. For 1, she just stands in the doorway of the kitchen. Alternating between sitting at a table and the ? in a very obvious and conspicuous manner and just stares at people as they come in and out like literally just sits there and stares she'll look off every now and again or she'll move around like she has ants in her ? pants. The food is good. In all honesty I feel like an inmate when she sits there and watches. Like a C.O during chow. A Little uncomfortable ? Out side of that Stephanie is amazing. Ms.Joy is always helpful. Hotel is clean. Well lit parking lots at night ?. Cameras outside ?. Wholesome environment ? all in all.”

3440 SW 40th Blvd, Gainesville“Stayed the night of Sun, Sept. 15, 2024. Comfort Inn in Gainesville, FL was fantastic to stay in. The mattress/bed was the right level of firmness, the pillow was comfortable and the room was overall spacious. I appreciated the Gator inflatables and other Florida decor in the check-in lobby area. Breakfast options were good, too.
The only con was that the breakfast dining area was super cold with the air conditioning blasting. It's because the front desk area they were still working on getting the A/C fixed, so they had to have a stronger A/C in the dining area to make the cool air come over.”

“We stayed here during hurricane Milton. It was an incredibly long ride from our home that we had to evacuate from. We were traveling with two small dogs and 3 birds!! Every single person that worked here made us and our pets feel welcome!! They treated us with compassion!! There were 3 employees that were on our floor when we were getting ready to check out that took turns holding and taking pictures with my Cockatoo Chance!! I Wish I would have gotten their information to state here by name how Very special they made our bad hurricane situation into a wonderful experience and to know where they were going to post the pictures with Chance as I would have loved to see the pictures and saved them for memories!! So if you 3 see this..please let me know where I can see them and Huge personal thank you guys!! You made me smile at a time that was very difficult ❤️ Margie, Chance and Furby”

3333 SW 42nd St, Gainesville“My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Homewood Suites on July5, 2024. We travel to Gainesville periodically for medical appointments and this was the perfect place for us to stay.
We had a king suite which was more like a mini apartment than a hotel room. It had a lovely little kitchen with a full fridge with an icemaker, microwave, *dishwasher*, sink, small table with chairs, and granite countertops! It had a nice little living room with a couch and ottoman, a TV, desk with chair, and plenty of lighting. The bedroom was a separate room with a nice, spacious bathroom, also with granite countertops. The shower was instantly hot with good water pressure. There were pump bottles of nice shampoo, conditioner, and body wash attached to the wall in the shower which a nice touch. ? The bed was very comfortable with awesome down pillows and good quality bedding. Everything was pristine - spotless and in perfect condition!
The breakfast was awesome! Full buffet with plenty of hot and cold choices. That saves a lot of money, even if there are only two in your party.
The only thing that wasn't perfect about our stay was the noise from the people upstairs. No one was being loud or anything, we're just not used to having people walking around etc. above us.
I highly recommend Homewood Suites in Gainesville. Not only is it a clean and comfortable place to stay, it is an excellent value. We only paid about $40 more than the place we stayed last time and that place was a dump! We will definitely stay here again when we come back.”
“It’s a family owned business, very friendly and very accommodating. The only place during family week at UF that wasn’t way overpriced.Rooms: Rooms are older, but they were clean and fresh smelly”

My only disappointment was the 6:00 alarm was left on in the room from the people who stayed in the room previously. It was very unwelcome Saturday morning.”

Arrived at hotel 10 pm - they said you don't have reservations (found date error). They were able to modify reservation and get us a room even though it was a crowded Friday night. Kudos to wonderful staff and very nice room. So glad no carpet. Starbucks very close.”

413 W University Ave, Gainesville“Everything in town was no vacancy. I expected a crack motel with all night redneckin' in the parking lot. It is dated construction, but it was quiet and clean. The room lacked the stale cigarette smoke smell that you often get in this price range. High quality new mattress gave me a great night's sleep. AC was functional in the humid August heat. Wi-Fi was good too. It's not a place to come spend a vacation but perfect for a night's rest and a shower.”

The rooms were large and very clean - the breakfast is something the staff should be proud of. I would like to thank “Michael” at FD for understanding our band’s having to leave a bit later.
This is a very well-run hotel.”
“Loved Loved Loved staying here! The staff were so awesome... my memory is not good, I wish I could name them all, but NOT one was bad... everyone at the front desk, bar and even a young guy from the kitchen staff, refilling the fruit infused water (awesome!) was top notch! So nice and personable...Rooms: Clean and quiet...Nearby activities: Not far from the university, driving distance to shopping.Safety: Off the beaten path... and not a busy areaFood & drinks: Good bar...Noteworthy details: Great staff...”
