My stay in this hotel was really good. The location is great, it's so close to everything. I want to shout out to Xavier and Rehiem for their expectational service, they went over and beyond to get me anything I needed.

I stayed here a week with my family and we got the two bedroom suite it was very large and spacious enough room for all of us. The location is great because you're near everything. The breakfast was very delicious and you had something different every day! The main breakfast lady Grace is wonderful and makes you feel very welcomed! She always has a great attitude and is very sweet! My kids would go down and get breakfast and they would come back and tell me how sweet she was to them! They have a half court basketball court also! Overall I loved my stay, I love the front desk ladies and gentlemen also the breakfast ladies. I will definitely be booking another trip and staying at that hotel again!

This is the third Hilton property I’ve stayed in Gainesville. At this property I was given one choice prior to checking in. As a diamond member, I had requested a higher floor, one king bed studio. The only choice I received was a handicapped king bedroom on the first floor. I’ve found this to be common in many hilton properties where they can’t keep up with the booking technology and fall short on the promises. The parking, lobby and adjoining dining areas were fine. We had been driving over 8 hours , were pretty tired, so we just headed for the room. The only hotel attendant at check in was busy with other guests to pursue changing rooms. The dark room seemed like a mess of renovations, cracked tiles in front of the bathroom sink, very dated kitchen. Overall, it wasn’t very inviting or felt very clean. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. As a homewood suites breakfast this one was pretty good with more choices than others. The evening reception also was nice, though there was no adult beverages at the time.In comparison with the other Hilton properties nearby that I’ve stayed at I would stay at Hilton Garden Inn, except that they don’t offer a complimentary breakfast. The nearby Hampton Inn is the worst. I would only stay here again if they update the rooms and can get their reservation system corrected.

I checked in and after a couple weeks my credit card company called about many random charges -The started charging other rooms, room service and a couple of $1300 charges they can’t explain.Once I notified Hilton and the staff the charges doubled !This place a a scam the manager threatened me and keep demanding another credit card as my company shut it off for Fraud !Then they are happy the stole my money !This is by far the worst hotel experience I e ever had - and management and Hilton don’t car the stole $5000 from my credit card and all the time kept it hidden so it did show on my bill only my statement which is difficult to get if you travel for work !Worst travel experience of my life and I stay in hotels 1year out of every 3 years. They are being investigated for corruption and fraud !!!!Stay away at all costs !!!

Hotel is dated and poorly maintained. During our stay, there were temporary A/C systems throughout the building and hall ways were not being cooled. The rooms had A/C going to them but did not cool down fully.Worst part of our stay was being woken up by a hotel employee knocking on my door 3 hours before check out to see if anyone was still in the room.

Regarding my stay July 28-29, 2023: I am a longtime Hilton Diamond HHonors member and stay at Hilton properties wherever I travel by preference and at my own expense (pleasure travel coast-to-coast and border-to-border).I seldom have reason to criticize any of the properties of the hotels where I stay. This Homewood Suites in Gainesville, FL is a sad exception. The property was evidently recovering - very poorly - from a previous weather event. It was damp, poorly ventilated, and the HVAC was working poorly and unable to keep up to the environmental state. Large portable fans/coolers blocked passage in all the hallways. They were noisy and obtrusive. The rooms were showing poor corrective repair, if any at all. The parking situation was poorly laid out and handicapped parking was farther from the entry than the few 'ordinary' parking places. Situational security was poor-to-invisible. The carts for transporting belongings were scarce and inadequate. The usual status offerings were not offered to me as an incoming guest.I wouldn't return to this property on a bet. It was so disappointing that I avoided Gainesville entirely on my return trip and stayed at another, much more welcoming Hilton property, even though it was less convenient to my itinerary.Safety: Poorly thought out and executed.

My group enjoyed our stay at this Homewood Suites location. Our room was spacious and was able to accommodate the five of us. I was greeted warmly by Xavier at check-in. For the complimentary breakfast, Grace made sure the offerings were plentiful for the guests and the area was kept clean. We loved the fact that the hotel was ideally located near the University of Florida, as well as restaurants, stores and I-75. This was our second time visiting this hotel and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Good location near hospitals. Large 2 bed/2bath suite but lacking enough furniture in living room for us to sit. Asked for extra dining chair (unit sleeps 8, we were 4 adults, there were 2 dining chairs & a desk chair) & was told no. Glassware, toaster dirty. Floors dirty. Unit needs remodeling- felt rundown. Free breakfast was adequate. Not sure I would stay again.Rooms: Our suite was large but living room needed more furniture. Not clean enough for me. Dirty glassware & toaster & floors.Food & drinks: Free breakfast had hot & cold choices ,& pastries, etc. Was ok.

I stay at this property often and will continue to do so for convenience to my area of scope. The staff here is always very professional and friendly. The only reason for a 4 instead if a 5 is what some might consider a little thing. When I was both silver and gold status I was always thanked for being a HH member and proactively offered water at check in. For some reason now that I achieved Diamond Status I am no longer acknowledged as so and have to ask for water or any perks that supposedly come with the status. Again to some this may seem minor but it is always the little things that create optimum client service for me.

DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANTED TO BE STRANDED!!!!! I booked this hotel in the afternoon through the Hilton honors app while driving 75 to see family. Room was confirmed, online check in complete so I thought we had a room for the evening when we arrived from driving from OKLAHOMA but.. WRONG! When we arrived at the hotel the front desk worker tried to tell me I didn’t have a reservation. When I pulled my reservation up and gave confirmation number, they then proceeded to tell me they sold my room without contacting me!!!! It’s after MIDNIGHT and I booked and checked in around 5pm! They said they didn’t have contact information for me (which I proved that was ALSO a lie). Then the from desk worker told me I was screwed and good luck!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE WITH HILTON IVE HAD AFTER A DECADE OF membership! The unprofessionalism radiates out of this place so please stay somewhere safe, so you’re not stranded.

We loved Grace in the kitchen!!! She was like a second mom. She was so kind, helpful, and remembered us. I looked forward to seeing her every morning. Also Carlene Baker in the sales department was so easy to work with, and made us really excited to stay at the hotel. Every time I had an issue or question she was easily available and responded quickly.Last, the general manager, who worked the front desk, I don’t remember her name, but she was extremely accommodating and helpful anytime we had any sort of question or minor issue. The experience I had at Homewood suites this weekend was very impactful. I would absolutely stay at another Homewood suites, even if it was slightly more expensive, because I had such a wonderful time.It was clean, safe, and in a fabulous location. Also very pet friendly and comfortable for them too. A HUGE plus for us!!I cannot say enough good things, and I would recommend this hotel to any friend wanting to stay in Gainesville ever!!This hotel made the lodging part of our wedding weekend such a fun, pleasant time.

Wavered on two or three star rating- but a review like this would have made me choose a different Hilton property for my stay in Gainesville. We booked this hotel for location and price for value- specifications that included the cost of breakfast, 7:00-10:00. We tend to be late risers on vacation, getting down to breakfast in the later half of the breakfast hours, and have never had a problem at any previous Hilton property stays. When my husband and kids showed up at 9:30, the hot breakfast was completely gone and there was milk, apples, apple juice and toast left. When I questioned the front desk on when there would be more eggs, sausage, hash browns, cereal, bakery items and waffle mix brought out, the front desk employee said they ran out of everything at 9. If you know your hotel is fully booked, as it was on our stay, on a Friday during spring break weeks, it seems like being prepared for that and planning accordingly to not run out of breakfast an hour before breakfast ends, would be wise.Otherwise- clean rooms, cheerful front desk staff.Don’t book here if you are counting on hot breakfast though.

The place was spacious, very clean. The breakfast was very complete and they even had a free food before dinner called social hour. Everything was great, from the reception to the checkout. The photos don’t do it

We stayed many times at a Homewood Suites so we thought that this one would be like previous locations where we've stayed. Not so with this one. The room was paired down from the usual amenities they used to provide. There were no pots or pans to use for cooking and the very few dishes, glasses and silverware. The entire hotel seemed to be laking all the amenities that we enjoyed previously. This was especially evident at breakfast. The offerings were slim and not as fresh as they should have been. We are having second thoughts about continuing to stay at a Homewood.

Older hotel so you hear everything through the walls, including the person snoring next door, and every footstep from the room above. Had I know, I would have definitely paid extra to stay on the top floor. Room was clean and provided everything we needed. Pool looked clean, although too cold to go in since it's not heated. Front desk staff was wonderful! Very helpful and polite. Would stay again.
