This Hertz is so awful it put me off the company entirely. I had previously been a Hertz customer for years. I had the misfortune of having to stay in Gainesville for a extended period of time and needed to rent a car every few weeks for several months. After my 3rd visit there I just started going to another company. The employees are so indifferent, and so deliberately slow it seems unbelievable. They seem to get a lot of business from insurance companies, so I guess they don't feel like they need to have any customer service. It was very clear they don't usually cater to regular renters.
I have complained to everyone there, all of the 'managers', and even called their corporate number. No one ever followed up at all. Absolute joke of a company. Very depressing this is the company amex choose to partner with.

Rented online did the pay now option after calling the store multiple times to check that I am able to rent a car with a debit card they said it’s fine just add a $500 security deposit ok that’s fine I pay for rental go to pick it up the day I am supposed to leave for my trip and they don’t let me rent the car because my credit isn’t good enough. That is absolutely ridiculous you took my money but then don’t rent me the car I paid for and can’t even re fund me the money I have to call a1 800 number to ask for it back and wait 3 to 5 business days. So now sitting at home with no rental and trying to figure out what to do and I am losing money for deposits on hotels so do not rent from them they suck
Update it’s now been 7 days and still haven’t gotten my money back this is absolutely ridiculous

I hate hertz after this event, I rented out the vehicle at Hertz N Main St, Gainesville. The service was bad, even though I was a gold member I was told to wait for the vehicle (which is fair sometimes acceptable), I waited there for whole 40 minutes to get the vehicle. The office hours usually close at 5pm, since there was a shortage and huge demand the office was letting people in till 5:30 and my vehicle was handed over around 5:30, the next day I went to return the vehicle around 5:05 the employees were still in the office, I had a peek through the door to ask them regarding handing them the car keys for return, they informed me to drop the keys in the Dropbox, later did I know that I had been charged for a whole entire day for a 5 minute delay. I have never in my life faced such a situation at any branch that I’ll be charged for an whole entire day for few minute delay considering they have given me a gold member a vehicle after waiting there 30 minutes around 5:30. Hertz policy usually has 59 minute grace period, and if there is a Dropbox return, they usually check the camera for the time of return and charge based on that. These are basic for all the rental vehicle service providers and are a must for customer experience around all branches. Surprisingly nothing were to be found at the branch Hertz, N Main St, Gainesville. There was no compensation what so ever, I even asked them if they could provide the car since they have already charged which they have denied. This is completely unfair and unacceptable customer service, I would never try renting with hertz again.

The workers were very attentive and very personable but the location is in odd location is small and that's not look very presentable. They also had a lot of problems with the computers. As far as service I recommend and completely as far as the location not so much

DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ. They would prefer to let their customers drive an unsafe and dangerous rental car that turns off in the middle of the road and has engine issues than swap out for one of their other cars. Pathetic customer service. Corporate won’t help you either, will only give you phone numbers for Roadside Assistance if the car does break down in the middle of the road. Disgusting. Never again will I rent from Hertz and it will be my mission to let everyone I know about their faulty company practices.

Got charged $150 days after i dropped the rental off. They said there was cat hair in the vehicle ? ....which i don't even have pets!!!!!! They just steal your money and Lie. Do Not Go Here.

I had booked a car in 2 weeks advance.. when I got there when schedule they was close. Nobody contacted me at all I was left hanging.. so I went to enterprise on 39th street and thank GOD they was open they put me in a car in less than 10 minutes. From now on I’m going to enterprise..
