Sorcha and Michelle were amazing at working with our dog Barley--a 2-year old rescue dog. They are both expert at their craft of service dog training--and also as important, in being patient and thorough in helping us as handlers understand our roles in providing clear direction to our dog. Barley's first plane trips (literally across the world) went totally smoothly because he and we knew exactly what to do--thanks to Gainesville Canine Academy!

Sorsha is amazing. I took my 3 month Catahoula Leopard here for two classes and she is amazing. She is very hands on and keeps the classes small (4) so she can teach and help everyone. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to train your dog in obedience or therapy training.

Michelle helped me with my anxious pitbull. She has been kind and patient with my dog. Great progress and hope to continue training for other types of dog sports.

If you haven’t trained a puppy or a dog in awhile, or you just need be retained in the canine world, Michelle is a wonderful trainer with a bundle of expertise. Our first “play date” was when we purchased a three month old Belgian Tervuren. This was truly a worthwhile beginning. We were very happy with our homework each week and saw a definitive progression in this herding shepherd. Michelle, quite learned and patient, provided informational lessons that we use today for the continual quest of a well behaved, bright and happy dog. Thank you, Michelle for being a “high value” trainer!

If you are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and incredibly knowledgeable dog trainer who is also reasonably priced then look no further. Michelle Dunlap of Gainesville Canine Academy is the one to call. She has been patiently helping one of my dogs in getting her over a fear of new people, especially men. She implements positive teaching techniques and rewards in a very comfortable environment that leaves both the owner and dog more confident after every session. She has even met me out multiple times in different public settings to continue building our confidence in new surroundings. She has made herself available for questions, calls, and emails outside of class time and always returns messages promptly, which is a blessing in itself. I'm beyond satisfied with her genuine dedication to helping people and their pets have a better understanding and connection to each other. Thank you Michelle for all your help with my Diamond girl (♡)

Michelle Dunlap is an extremely knowledgeable, experienced dog trainer and handler. She can help your dog become a canine good citizen, help with obedience, agression, and other behavioral issues. She helped us learn how to work with our retriever mix on his aggression issues. Now we can trust him around strangers! I highly recommend Michelle for all your canine training needs.

We adopted a 5 month GSD puppy that nobody else wanted because he was EXTREMELY nervous around people. We thought he'd get along with our other dogs and we could work with him over time (months) to try and get him out of his shell and have a better life than living in a kennel by himself. We contacted Michelle who gave me EXCELLENT advice about how to deal with him (the conversation started with a very friendly "First of all, all of your natural instincts are wrong.") It was the best call I've ever made. After following her advice, it took a mere 10 days for our new pup to go from afraid of everyone, to coming to us for love and falling asleep on the couch with us. We never dreamed he would come so far, so fast. Tank you so very much for your expertise in this matter.
