Highly disappointing experience. Be sure to call ahead prior to arrival for a full breakdown of facility expectations. My wife and I chose this location to stay for 3 nights, upon further review possibly a week. I haven’t had the pleasure however my wife has stayed at this location in the past. We are Diamond members as we typically are in hotels year round for work purposes traveling. Upon arrival the lobby was clean and well kept. We were greeted as typically expected to do so when customers enter. Our reservation was made online ahead of time. During our check in we noticed a plaque stating if you aren’t using a Major credit/debit card there will be a $300 surcharge for incidentals per stay. For example Chime/Cash-App/Venmo etc etc. would all incur this charge. Which is not listed on the website. That’s when the hotel rep proceeded listing Banks that are acceptable enough to not entail the additional $300 inconveniences. We were appalled by this, and were offered the solitary option of cancelling the reservation and finding other accommodations, or clearly paying the deposit. Never have we come across this type of situation. We have even had deposits completely waved at other Choice locations that requires them, due to being long standing Diamond members. However those are the typical $25-$100 scenarios. Some local hotels here take advantage during events and Gator games, as Most of them tend to skyrocket prices on those dates. And this is another case unfortunately as this is not listed on the website. Do your due diligence! We canceled and found more acceptable accommodations for our stay.
Rooms: We unfortunately did not complete our check-in. However my wife has stayed at this location in the past, and was very pleased with the accommodations. Very simple but well kept.
Nearby activities: The hotel is located in a nice area of town, Very populated and surrounded by other hotels/Motels and businesses. Butler plaza/Celebration point is right up the road. As well as many restaurants and shopping options. The area itself is highly recommended for travelers.
Safety: The city is unfortunately over-run with its homeless population. As they are on nearly every street corner. There is also a new construction site directly across the road with lots of heavy equipment. Not sure how quiet forward facing rooms might be during the day.
Noteworthy details: $300 Additional deposit charge for Any non-major credit/debit card users. Not listed or mentioned on website.

Stayed the night of Sun, Sept. 15, 2024. Comfort Inn in Gainesville, FL was fantastic to stay in. The mattress/bed was the right level of firmness, the pillow was comfortable and the room was overall spacious. I appreciated the Gator inflatables and other Florida decor in the check-in lobby area. Breakfast options were good, too.
The only con was that the breakfast dining area was super cold with the air conditioning blasting. It's because the front desk area they were still working on getting the A/C fixed, so they had to have a stronger A/C in the dining area to make the cool air come over.

Spacious room that had been renovated somewhat recently. The carpet was in desperate need of a vacuum. And the bathroom which had mostly escaped the renovation was kind of gross. Additionally, after standing waiting and waiting for hot water which never came, I went to the front desk and was informed that the room I was in was plumbed backwards. The hot and cold were reversed. The clerk told me to set the valve to the cold setting and wait for two minutes and I should have hot water. OK, too late.
Lots of choices in this neighborhood, so unless you are interested in reliving the experience of your lousy college apartment, keep looking.

They have a nice breakfast here with hot eggs and waffles. Beds were comfortable and they had nice pillows. Good location centrally located. The elevator did not work while we were there so it was a hassle to lug the luggage up to the second floor. They keep the hotel nicely airconditioned. Overall a nice place to stay and I would recommend it. Hope they get the elevator fixed soon LOL.

Thank you for your response. I understand what you say. After I wrote this review, I called again and told the front desk employee that he had left the phone opened for 15 minutes. He told me he couldn’t care less and hung up on me. This happened on 5/25 at 8:11 pm. Please, check who you had on duty at that time and give that guy “Employee of the Year” award.

We've stayed here multiple times for local softball tournaments. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is satisfactory with a variety. Of course the teens enjoy the fresh popcorn and cookies at night. Recently we had to cancel due to injury and they took care of us. We'll stay another 2 or 3 times this year.

When you travel with pets, there’s always an issue with where do you stay. There are several sites that can help with finding pet friendly hotels and but after reviewing the listings, we’ve always found it best to call ahead and verify the details. While traveling west, we found ourselves stopping in Gainesville for the night. We rode around for a while searching and found that the Comfort Inn was listed as pet friendly. We checked the reviews and they were very good.We called ahead and spoke to Shamier. He was very pleasant and he advised they did have a vacant pet friendly room for the night so we decided to check it out.We arrived at the Comfort Inn and it was in a great area of town. When we went in we were greeted by Shamier and the smell of fresh popcorn. What a great start. The check in went smoothly and in no time we had a room with 2 queen beds that was pet friendly. After getting our gear and pets in, we checked back with Shamier about a good place for salads locally. Since it was Christmas night, we knew not many places be open. He suggested the Olive Garden not far away. We headed that way but sadly, it was closed. The good news was TGIFridays was open. After a slight wait, we had a couple of salads and headed back to the hotel. The next morning we enjoyed the eggs, sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits offered just off the lobby. They also had waffles and bagels. The coffee was outstanding. We received a great Good Morning from Natalie and told her how great it was they had special, pet friendly rooms. She was fun to talk too. After loading up our gear and our guys we had to hit the road. The Comfort Inn was convenient to the highway. Many THANKS to Shamier & Natalie for a great stay. We would recommend it to any travelers and pet owners will love it.Cheers,L&JHenderson NV(formerly of Miami Beach)Rooms: They had pet friendly rooms!
