I decided to open an account with this bank because my other (federal) bank couldn't solve the constant problems with online access to my account for three years. It's a wonder why I waited so long to get the problem resolved and didn't try to just switch banks. South State Bank turned out to be a great place with great people. I was assisted in opening my account by Jorge. He made the whole process extremely quick and easy. Jorge explained every step and after half an hour I had fully working online access to my account in the app. There are no words to describe how I feel. Honestly, I am extremely happy!

The service at this bank us terrible, you do not have friendly banking service. Harbor bank was bought out by CenterState Bank, the service was worse.. when I set the account up with Harbor bank it was a no fee checking account because of the amount in the account and because I went paperless . When it was bought by CenterState they started fees, I'm sure I received notice in the mail, but let's face it who reads that. I made several good size deposits and not a word about any fees. I didn't get my statements as I was paperless and didn't worry because I didn't use this account as this was a "raining day fund or emergency account". So when I wanted to start using the account I happen to call customer service to see about setting up an on line account, I got on line and found the fees and when I went to the bank to ask about them-my answer was oh I'm sorry but when you weren't getting statements you should have let us know, I explained why I wasn't worried about them because I don't use that account. All the women kept saying was "I'd be so worried if I couldn't balance my account" I said again I wasn't worried because I didn't use the account after about the third tine I said well I guess some of us are different then aren't we! I moved to Florida several years ago and still have an account in my home state. When my account is ready to go into hibernation or start to be charged fees for lack of use , they call me to tell me, to avoid me getting any fees !! I wish they had branches in our area. What happen to customer service, and to think we pay for this. It seems like the more we pay for something, the worse service we get !! So CenterState not only list that account, but a mortgagee, a car loan and any future loans !! I know I am only one person that they won't care about besides they are a big time bank now. Why would they care about 1person. Hope this helps you all when you decide on finding a new bank !!

Fantastic bank with fantastic people! I've been with them ever since my old bank was bought by them. I was apprehensive at first but they're great. Even give my dog treats at the drive through!

They have great customer service and are always willing to help out with any issues. Jorge and Patty are literally life savers because anytime I have a issue they are always on point, quick, and ready to respond immediately

They have too many issues with their system and mobile banking. It is very inconvenient when you go to check your account but the system is down and when you call, all they can say is sorry for the inconvenience and they can’t tell you how soon the system will be back up!! Very very inconvenient
