I was having trouble this past weekend with my Mini. After having a mobile mechanic diagnosing it and my husband trying to fix it, the engine was still failing. I called Mickey first thing on Monday morning to get a second opinion from an expert. He said he was booked until the 15th but told me that I can drop it off for him to take a look at it and run the codes. That in itself was very generous and kind of him! Upon arrival, he stated that he will look at it and give us a call for a quote so that there would be no financial surprises.
Not only did he look at it, but he also informed us that we had the wrong parts installed and replaced them with used parts for a temporary fix so that my car can run again (and so I can get home safely). He was also able to sell us brand new parts the same day so that my husband can fix it for me, saving us some money.
Thank you for fitting me in and helping me get my car running again! I know you were busy, but your small act of kindness saved me a lot of headache.

Absolutely will recommend them to anyone I can. Dealership told me my brakes were shot and quoted 2-3 thousand. Came here and Miguel took the time to go around my car with me and measure to let me know my brakes still had plenty of life left and weren’t in any rush to be replaced. I eventually came back when it was time to replace them and he got them done for a 1/3 of the price and did an amazing job. Will definitely be back!

Mickey was very easy to work with and helped repair my fiancé's old mini for an incredibly affordable price. Work was done quickly too. Amazing local mechanic, very trustworthy and friendly.

I very rarely write reviews, but for Best Motor Works I had to. I went to Mickey and Yvonne for all four years at UF for my 2014 Mini Cooper Clubman and they gave me not only amazing mechanical work at fair and affordable prices, but also kind and personable service. As a young woman who knows very little about cars, going to a mechanic can sometimes make me nervous but Mickey and Yvonne always explained exactly what they were doing and never overcharged me, even though they honestly could've. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone in the Gainesville region who needs service done on their BMW or Mini Cooper.

I dropped my bmw off for repairs in April 2022. I finally get a call in October 2022 from Mickey that the car was ready. I paid $6k for repairs (used transmission) and the car breaks down again in November 2022. The car has been sitting at the shop since then and every time I call to get an update I get an excuse...the shop is full, Mickey is not in all week. Today his wife hangs up on me because I ask why my car is still not repaired. Consumers beware, he is the only mechanic, he has had possession of my car for almost a year, taken $6k from me, and then gets an attitude when you ask about your car. Looks like I need to take legal action to get this resolved.

I had an issue with the valve cover gasket on my 2015 BMW 328i where oil would leak on to the downpipes and create white smoke and a burning oil smell under the hood. I brought my car to this local, family-run repair shop which specializes in BMWs and MINIs and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Mickey is extremely knowledgeable on these cars and engines and was quickly able to diagnose and repair the the faulty valve cover. He explained to me exactly what happened to the part, and why these parts tend to fail over time. They were even able to work with me on time when I asked if the car could be finished sooner. Price of the work was very fair and much lower than any dealership or other European repair shop quote. Overall great service and experience. If I could give 6 stars, I would.Service: Engine repair

Man, where do I start?! How about 'MICKEY IS AMAZING AND IT'D BEHOOVE YOU TO HAVE HIM AS YOUR MECHANIC'!! Now, a little back story...bought a, what I thought was, nifty little MINI s....took it to Tom Bush in Jax for a full once over, and got my feelings hurt. Including tires, they said it needed about 13k worth of work. I parked it in my garage and licked my wounds. Fast forward about 6 months, and I came across Best Motor Works....started looking at reviews...wanna guess how FAR I had to go back to find a review that wasn't STELLAR? 8 years. Yup, 8 years....and you can tell the review was from a troll. Anyways, had my car towed an hour from me to Mickey's shop. Told him what the dealer said I needed, sent him their diagnostic report and estimate, and reported some other issues. A few days later Mickey calls me and tells me my issues are pretty much all due to the battery. Huh? What? Seems the person I got the car from put in a new battery, but didn't register it with the car's computer, so it went to pot quickly and caused all sorts of issues. good Job Tom Bush MINI for catching that one, eh? Also, most of what they said was wrong and what I needed to have done was total crap and wrong. Mickey did all sorts of things for my car...new battery, new slave cylinder for the clutch, a bunch of diagnostic, oil change and filter, did some suspension work, and quite a few other things. The bill? $1300. He could have reamed me out hard knowing I wanted it fixed and assumed it needed thousands of dollars worth of work, but he didn't. He was honest, fair, AND ANSWERED THE PHONE WHEN I CALLED and gave me very detailed explanations of what was going on. Amazing customer service, amazing attitude, and from what I saw, a very able mechanic. GO GIVE THIS MAN YOUR MONEY!!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mickey at Best Motor Works who diagnosed and repaired an issue with our daughter's Mini Cooper today. As she is a student at UF and several hours from home I was concerned her safety in driving with a odd and unusual noise coming from her car. Not only did Mickey find and repair this issue almost immediately he treated her both professionally and financially as if she was a family member. I have been an enthusiastic car fanatic for over 50 years and can say without hesitation that he is easily amongst the best and most honorable mechanics my family has had the good fortune to meet. Mickey and Yvonne run a family business servicing MINI Cooper's and BMW's. As soon as one of my MINI's is out of factory warranty, Mickey takes over and keeps them running well. I trust them to only make the repairs I need to keep the cars in good mechanical condition. I have a pair of 2003 MINII Cooper S's that Mickey has serviced for the past 11 years.Due to their reputation, Mickey can get backed up, so please schedule service ahead of time. Took my 2004 330ci to get service due to leaking transmission fluid. Manny definitely got my car running new again and didn't break my pockets! Did i forget to mention that he fixed my temperature sensor for no charge?! You wont regret coming here!Services: Electrical
