do not let your parents buy into this place!!!!! did you know the larsen skilled nursing facality was rated 2 out of 5 stars from the state? did you know that the quality of care is "the cma or nurses don't have enough time to do their jobs properly?" do you know they are understaffed with qualified people? do you know that showers, dressing for day or night, medication is not provided at the right time, and that they don't care if their patients are getting the care they deserve? shell point costs a lot of money, it is a scam, it is not worth it....

well, maintain facility, seemingly caring staff, and lots of amenities. it would be helpful if they would plant more shade trees as you cannot go for a walk without being by the sun. we understand there is a hurricane recently, but we were there before Ian and there was still not enough shade . Also there is fair amount of noise from the pool pump which could easily be insulated, compressors, gas powered leaf blowers etc. There are quieter versions of all this stuff so I hope they make some changes.

My mother, now 98, has been a resident for over 15 years. Independent and assisted living were ok. Skilled nursing a disorganized mess and this is where the resident needs the most help. On our most recent visit she looked like a refugee with unwashed hair and face, soiled clothes and a very sad countenance. I would not put my dog in this place.

The facilities are beautiful and services are extensive. So many good things to say about the independent living part of Shell Point. But, the nursing home, albeit beautiful gives very poor care. My father fell within 4 hours of admission and laid on the floor for 3 hours. The aide was so ugly to him when he complained of being so cold. The staff, especially the nurses aides are inattentive. It's very scary to think your loved one is not getting the care they need. My father has given lots of money to Shell Point under the impression they would care for him when he needed it. He is on the financial plan where he paid a higher entrance fee and higher monthly rent, so he would not have to pay for the nursing home. He is now home and paying for 24 hour caregivers. In essence, he paid for nursing home and is now paying for private duty. If you want to come here, you might consider choosing the financial model where you would have to pay for nursing home IF you need it. If the nursing home hasn't gotten their act together by then, you could opt to stay in your own home with caregivers. I cannot speak to the Assisted Living Facilities or Memory Care as we have no experience with that.

Vaporware.. A dollar and a dream. Over rated apartment rental. Aged infrastructure with "some" sub communities having all the charm of a slum like tenement.

some very friendly people, but you have a lot of people not follow speed limits going way under or way to fast. you have a lot of older people standing in the middle of the roads while trying to drive past and they refuse to move and make you sit there while they talk. other then that beautiful area

we usually start about 7-10 minutes early then our start time for our shifts just a hidden courtesy there are three shifts 7-3pm 3-11pm and 11-7am with the night shift getting 2.00 extra because they can't find help for these shifts. My shift was either the 7-3 or 3-11 general rule of thumb if you work the 7-3pm you would be walking on egg shells haha all of the upper management have there eyes on you, because they our there sitting in there office's or driving around acting like they are working but in reality there checking to see if your making there job easier don't ever go too them with a problem because you just might find yourself on the unemployment line like myself.

Everyone Is always very friendly when we go visit family there. They were a tremendous help during a difficult time. Beautiful views. Everyone seems to be a close within the community. Helping one another. The restaurant food and service was excellent. Staff knows the people and not just another number to them which makes it feel more like a huge family. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a retirement community.

Made a reservation online for the restaurant in the woodlands (palm grill) for table for 2. Get confirmation and everything. We arrive at the restaurant and they ask our name, I tell them and they don't have it. I showed them the email, she says oh we don't do reservations online. I said ok well we need a table for 2. Sorry we are full, I'm like I see empty tables. Yes those are for people that have reservations. I see I wasn't getting anywhere with this older woman, so she goes away and comes back we can sit u outside, I said what about the no serums, she was unaware of what those were. So we go outside and get the menus and wait and wait, 2 baskets of bread where served before the server came, I ordered an Arnold Palmer what arrived was just unsweet tea, I asked if she had forgotten the lemonade and she says snotty, well we ran out of lemonade. Okay my mom ordered a meal with Caesar salad and anchovies. Salad came with no anchovies and the woman took back and said she would fix it. Okay meal comes, steaks aren't cooked to temperature and have no flavor. And I asked when her salad may come back she argued with us said she brought it and hadn't. So she has an attitude again Im done with u I'm going for the manager, ok so out comes the chef, he tells us their is no manager tonight and he wanted the story from the beginning, so I tell him from the reservation part, and he said oh only the manager can check those online reservations and since she wasn't their. Then we tell him about the dirty vegetables and steak not cooked or seasoned right. He tells us the steaks r cry o vacted and basically boiled in a bag of seasoning. This place used to be top of our list to eat. Oh well. And you need to open back up the clubhouse it was great food at great prices and the view was awesome

Was rudely met with an employee from their second story office window at the welcome center who was shouting at me after parking in the guest parking lot. My intentions were to walk around and inquire about the facility for relatives. The man stated that he hoped I would not be here long because he had employees arriving soon who needed to park there. I immediately left and are no longer considering this community for my relatives.
