We found an abandoned kitten with health issues. The kitten is doing so well now and in great care. Dr. Jones was very positive and professional, and we are happy to have a great veterinarian, being new to Ft. Myers. Thank you to all the staff at McGregor Animal clinic!

I understand that this is a business, but prioritizing money over what's best for the animals is unacceptable. I've been a loyal customer here since moving to the area, but I've always had reservations about the vets themselves. Dr. Butts shows care for the animals, but she clearly plays favorites. If your pet isn't one of them, she rushes through appointments and lacks bedside manner. Despite this, I might have continued here if it weren't for our recent visit with Dr. Jones, which was my last straw.
I'm very anxious about vet visits because Scooby, my dog of nearly ten years and best friend, was 11 1/2 years old. I was honest with Dr. Jones about his symptoms--excessive drinking and panting, along with his small liver he has had issues his whole life--and asked her to look into it. Instead, she dismissed it as unrelated and insisted on testing for Cushings, brushing off my concerns and even telling me to relax, saying all dogs eventually die. She performed a blood test, confirming a thyroid issue but still insisted on the expensive Cushings test. She handled Scooby roughly, causing him to react fearfully, which was distressing since he's usually calm for a dog during shots.
Four weeks later, we had to say good bye due to liver failure. How could a vet miss such a critical diagnosis? Liver failure doesn't develop overnight. She continued to push for more tests, ignoring Scooby's actual condition, which Fetch Veterinary confirmed Cushings isn't something she should have even brought up due to other issues we told her. It became clear why she insisted on expensive tests--it wasn't about his health but about inflating my bill.
While it was Scooby's time, it's disheartening that the vet who owns this practice overlooked his liver issues and focused on costly tests. Animals should always come first. I would have paid any amount to save Scooby, and it's appalling that she missed something so crucial. Other pet owners have faced similar issues here, where they have pushed unnecessary tests even when it's clear the pet's time has come.
I regret not trusting my instincts and seeking care elsewhere. Even the $500 bill and the front desk staff praising their affordability should have been a red flag. Despite this, I commend the kindness of the front desk staff--they are truly wonderful people. It's a shame the vets don't emulate their compassion.

I can not say enough how absolutely fantastic both the staff and the Veterinarians are here at McGregor Vet. We have struggled to find a good, consistent vet for YEARS and we finally have found the one. The staff is friendly, helpful, and handle our animals with love and care. We recently brought our Cat to have 3 teeth extracted and the process could not have been better and more alleviating for 2 worrying pet owners. Prices are fair, especially compared to some of the larger vets in the area. For as long as we are in Southwest Florida Mcgregor Vet will be out one and only options for our fur babies!

If you have an elderly pet or a pet with a medical condition, I IMPLORE you find another vet. They convinced me to have echoes done on both my dogs - as GP vets, they are not qualified to make accurate diagnosises based on echoes done by a traveling sonagrapher (not cardiologist). I should have been referred to a cardiologist right away - that was never recommended to me. Both are my dogs were prescribed blood pressure meds - neither needed them. This is nothing more than standard textbook treatment. Please take your pet elsewhere. I told them that one medication was making my dogs worse - they didn't care. When I told them over the phone that my dog stopped eating (which is a very common side effect from vetmedin) Dr. Courtney told me (without seeing my pet) it was the end and to consider euthanizing him. I went to four other vets (two regular, one cardiology, and another emergency medicine) following that phone call - all of which told me my dog was absolutely not a candidate for euthansia. I beg you PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE. I am not the only one who has experienced this here and have talked to several others who had similar experiences. I shared my feedback with them and doubt it did any good. Neither of my dogs had high blood pressure - one started passing out as a result. If your dog has heart issues - go to a cardiologist, do not go here or take their advice. They completely missed a major condition that only a cardiologist who is trained to read echoes would find. I ended up having to pay a second time for echoes to be done by the cardiologist to find out what was really going on. Dr. Butts also told me my dog had end stage mitral valve disease - he is stage B. They put my pet, myself, and my family though hell - my nine year old child started having panic attacks from what they put us through. I trusted your advice blindly and have went through hell and back but learned so much in the process - Do not even reply to my post McGregor, as I never want to speak to you again. I am leaving this here so other people can educate themselves and consider alternative offices. Raise your standard of care and do not contact me.

I was a new patient and I brought my pet in, because she had a UTI. This vet UP CHARGES. As a new patient, they always do a fecal sample, which is fine $22 but they started adding on multiple test. They sent me home with multiple medications and charged me for 4 test they ran with an additional $20 for new patient. A simple UTI turned into a $300 vet bill. The doctor only examined my dog for 2 minutes while I waited for an hour. I just was not impressed for the price I paid.

Davy Crockett (Boykin Spaniel) loved Dr. Laura + staff at his first visit yesterday! The office is new and clean, the staff is kind and efficient, and we received thorough instructions to take home with us at his appointment. We loved McGregor Boulevard Vet and we will be back!

McGregor Vet is one of a kind. I've been a client for at least 15 years. Dr Laura and Dr Courtney are incredible veterinarians that care about their patients and pet parents.
The entire staff (extra nod to Belinda ) is friendly, kind and always willing to find you an appointment for those urgent matters.
These doctors take the time to educate the pet parents and no stone goes unturned to find answers; that includes acupuncture that worked like a dream for my boy Max.
I trust them 100% and the way they care for their patients is priceless.

i used to love this place, dr jones and courtney are excellent doctors. I do not know the techs name other than she has glasses and messy light red brown hair and was wearing a disneyesque nurse scrub set- she looked about 40, brought my cat and i into a dirty room that was not prepped, and did this to my cat and now my cat is in pain everyday for $207 dollars- i will not return.
