Gorgeous park with 2 playgrounds. Train rides for kids, if you want to do it as a 3-6 person family more then once by the 13 ticket pack. Park is $5 for full day or $1 per hour. There is a small food stand that makes burgers hot dogs and chicken fingers with fries. 2 spots to grab ice cream or rent bikes.Splash pad won't be open until probably the summer 2024.Great park!

I have been visiting Lakes Park for 22 years, and this place has always remained very well kept. Lots of great family activities for all ages and a path to walk that includes fitness stops. The path is also suitable for biking, rollerblading, and skateboarding. You can rent a paddle boat, a surrey, or even ride the train when it's operational. They also have a community garden for those with a green thumb. The water park is still down from the hurricane, but they have upgraded the littlest kids' park equipment, so its more suitable for the smaller kids. They also have swings for the differently abled on both playgrounds.

My kids had a really good entire day in here. The place has a big playground area, very well maintained. We also went to the train museum and got into the train ride 2 times, is really a good experience, at the time each ticket cost $5, kids less than 5 years ride free. This ride is awarded in Christmas when they have a light show and so in hallowing. The park is huge, another part the kids enjoyed was getting in the inflatables area, 5 different inflatables, this cost $12 per children and last the entire day, bit overpriced for me, but kids loved. We had rapid foot in the cafeteria just across the museum, we had chicken tenders, fries and ice cream, the area for eat is outside next to the lake, awesome views but, be AWARE of the birds around, they pup in my kids fries .The park also have place to rent bikes and enjoy the ride with the entire family, you could walk if you prefer, you will see a lot of birds, turtles and fishes in the lake, never saw an alligator but you never know ?.We stay from 11am to 3:30pm, and I’m really glad came here with the kids. I will recommend to others parents around.Playground: Big train playground. The only downside is that is very exposed to the sun, small cover. Otherwise is very well maintained.Picnic area: Plenty picnic areas, for events you need to rent in advance.

The grandchildren absolutely LOVE this place! The slides, the jungle gym, all the climbing is so much fun! Especially when they want me to join in! Haha! The train ride is sooo nice and relaxing. It travels at a steady 3mph, so no worries.. Can't wait to go back!

We were visiting from out of town and a few locals told us to visit here with our 21 month old. He (we) loved everything about it! The playground (9on the right side by the train station) isn't as toddler friendly as it could have been, but he played on the big kid part and had fun. The walking parts of the playground are wide and long. There are lots of slides, swings and so much more! We also took the train ride ($5 for ages 5 & up). The little towns you pass were cute and the tunnel was cool. The walk around the lake was very peaceful. There were exercise stations where it showed you how to use the equipment there. Unfortunately the splash pads were closed (since hurricane Ian). The Children's Garden can be easily missed as it's across the parking lot. That was very pretty to walk through. They have a free little library there too. I'm sure we missed some stuff, but we'll be back on our next visit here! Parking was $1/hr or $5 for the day.

Lakes Park is a breathtaking oasis, inviting you to immerse yourself in its natural wonders. As you stroll along its enchanting walking path, vibrant wading birds grace the scene, painting the air with a kaleidoscope of colors. Keep an eye out for the occasional alligator, adding a touch of wild excitement to your journey.Feel the thrill of adventure as you explore Lakes Park by renting a rickshaw, pedaling through its scenic trails on a bike, or cruising its serene waters in a boat. The options are as diverse as the park itself, promising an exhilarating escape bathed in Florida's glorious sunshine.

This park is huge! Love the bicycles you can rent, playgrounds are big for kids to explore, love the mini train ride & small museum for the kids to learn about. There's a Children's Garden for the kids that I still need to check out. Lots of pathways to bike & walk. Beautiful lake. There's a separate field with pavilions.

Went here to do some walking with mom. Beautiful morning to get out, and it's a pretty park. There are some areas in the shade towards the back, but it's mostly in the sun now, thanks to past hurricanes. We walked about 2 miles, but also a great area to ride your bike around safely. Great area for the kids, there's a community garden and a children's garden, water play area for kids and pavilions for parties. It's $1 an hour to park or $5 for the day. Beautiful grounds to enjoy a walk.

Great place to have family gatherings if you don't have a problem with the heat in the summer.

Enjoyed a good day at Lakes Park biking with friends. The trails are nicely maintained and the scenery around the lake is quite pleasant. It’s a peaceful place for a casual outing and the biking paths are decent for a relaxed ride. It’s a decent spot for group activities or just to enjoy a bit of nature. Would recommend for a low-key day out. Wednesdays they have a farmers market that’s excellent to come back for!

We have now been to this park three times in our last two visits to the area. This is a very nice park with lots of trails for walking and biking (though on busy weekends you need to be carefully to avoid being run down by the bikers). There are lots of picnic tables and shelters that can be reserved. The park is open again after Hurricane Ian though they are currently not renting kayaks and the splash park is closed. We saw the train running but not sure about the status of some of the other features of the park. They charge $1/ hour to park or $5 for the day. No entrance fee.Definitely check this place out!

Lakes Park is an excellent family friendly park in a great location. The park has plenty of walking paths, biking paths and seating areas. This park is definitely family oriented and has events throughout the year as well. The splash pads are nice for kids to cool down in the summer. They have several shaded playgrounds and there is typically plenty of parking. They rent boats and bikes and they have party size pavilions available as well. No dogs, so plan ahead.
