Went to Dr. Gorovy as a referral due to an eye infection. Appt was set for 3:15, waited an hour before being seen by assistant who took measurements, pressures and standard vision tests. She dilated my eyes and set me in another waiting area for another 40 minutes. I was brought back to the exam room after and was “greeted” by Dr. Mark Gorovy himself. Very cold, unwelcoming and condescending. Never explained what it was he was doing to my eye, or asked me any questions about why I was even there. Apparently the assistant notes are as far as he gets his information. With no additional explanation, he nonchalantly told me I would go blind if I had another infection due to wearing contacts. He “numbed” my eye and didn’t warn me he was going to “scrape” something from it… my eye wasn’t completely numb when he went to do the scrape so I pulled back because I felt every bit of what he was doing. As I pulled back, he almost had an angry tone. He numbed me again and gave me no time to “recover” from what had just happened. A minute to get myself back together would have been great. I was seen for maybe 5 minutes, no questions or explanations of anything from him. Was given a prescription for eye drops for the infection and was told to come back for follow up in 2 days. I made the appointment, however canceled as I did not feel comfortable with the lack of compassion or bedside manner I felt during the 2 hour ordeal. Thankfully my eye does feel better, but even thinking about whatever “scrape” he did has me worried as nothing was explained to me as to why or what he was doing it. Stay far, far away!

This is my second review of Dr Eccles Brown
She has been caring for my several eye issues for 3 years. Thru many tests and consultations she continues to perform at a high level and leads my team of doctors on a number of significant issues.
Sarah Eccles Brown is an extraordinary person blessed with a level of conscientious and empathetic attention that I have never experienced.
Highly recommended!

Carol, my wife, spent 27 years at Lee Memorial Hospital caring for your kids in the wonderful pediatric dept, and in their homes…as well as in the emergency room at Health Park Hospital.
Her understanding of all things medical surpasses that of most drs I know.
Last Thursday, Carol, who now suffers from the effects of MS and is currently a quadriplegic, had a nerve ablation performed on her Trigeminal Nerve with great success. She did however, wake up from anesthesia with double vision.
As directed by Dr Lin we reached out to her Eye Dr. when the vision abnormality did not subside.
We had the misfortune of being seen by Dr Gorovy this afternoon.
Had this been a vet clinic and I brought my dog there…I would have been horrified by the lack of concern and compassion.
But this is my wife.
Carol was concerned about Optic Neuritis, which she has had in the past. He shrugged it off and made excuses as to “why” any tests should be performed.
What eye exam has ever been performed from eight feet away?
She never was actually seen by a Dr.
When she stated she had double vision, he stated, “she did not, she has MS.”
When she tried to show him her eye which is yellow and red and draining, he simply said, “it’s a blood vessel and it’s not infected.”
All this from eight feet away.
We will never return.
If you care for your loved ones, find another Dr to take care of their needs.
This was very sad and disheartening.
Please let us know which practitioners need to be avoided.

Excellent! As a registered nurse, I immediately was at ease with the quality of care that was provided during surgery. Excellent infection control measures. Dr. Gorovoy and his team provide high quality and safe care!

I have always found the expertise, knowledge, and caring of Dr Gorovoy and all his Staff including his Surgical Staff outstanding! I can wait “till the cows come home” in his office, just to receive his expert knowledge about my eyes with the support of his excellent staff. I appreciate all they have done for me!

Long wait time every time (40-60 minutes) I came in for an appointment over a 4 month period. If I asked for an explanation, so and so had not shown up, etc. I get the feeling that they are scheduling too many people for too few appointment spots. Another Florida mill.

Dr. Mark Gorovoy is at the top of his game but as good as he is the office is on the other side of the spectrum, TERRIBLE, you could fly to California before anybody answers the phone there.....

Dr. Stacey Gorovoy is outstanding! She recently did my cataract and DMEK. I am one week post DMEK She is exceptionally skilled and very knowledgeable regarding Fuch’s Dystrophy and Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK.) Dr. Stacey Gorovoy is professional and has always answered any questions I asked her about my condition and treatment plan. She explained procedures in layman’s terms for me. She takes whatever time is needed and has been very pleasant. The Gorovoy Eye Clinic in Ft. Myers offers highly skilled specialty services and at times patients have to be worked into the schedule due to unforeseen issues such as mine. When I had my DMEK, I went back for follow-up and needed to have a new “bubble” put in to ensure complete attachment of donor tissue. Dr. Stacey worked my procedure in between all appointments in order to promote my successful transplant outcome. At Gorovoy Eye Specialists, patient care is top priority. They have no regard for their patients. I was here 3 weeks ago for a simple checkup and waited for an hour and a half past my appointment time to be seen. Today my wife was here for a post procedure check. She waited for an hour and 15 minutes past her appointment time to be seen.The arrogance of this facility is unbelievableI should have learned my lessonI won't be back...
