This place is truly a miracle and deserves every bit of credit and donation money because they do things the right way and the CHRISTIAN way. They feed great, they provide a safe, comfortable and disciplined alternative to homelessness and the preachers are fantastic. Come to church service on Sundays if you need some Jesus because you can sincerely feel his energy in every corner of Fort Myers rescue mission. I love this place and I'm grateful beyond words for the example they provide to all of Florida for helping poor people and the homeless.

The Fort Myers Rescue Mission falls short in providing comprehensive support for individuals seeking to improve their lives. While they offer basic necessities like a bed and food, the absence of counselors or case management hinders meaningful progress. The rigid schedule, including a 7 pm curfew and mandatory church activities, limits flexibility for those trying to find employment. Additionally, the mission's sermons often contain discriminatory remarks, making it an unsuitable environment for individuals with diverse backgrounds or mental health issues. The structure may benefit some, but for those needing a place to sleep without stringent work constraints, alternative options may be more suitable.

Anywhere that forces religion on the group they're "helping" has selfish reasons for doing so. Would you still if you weren't allowed to preach to them?

Came to shelter. Person at gate saw my cup from the hospital that I got over a week ago and already made a decision we're not going to stay. Also said if you can't get on top bunk, you are not welcomed. This is the type of caring shown to people that needs help. Another person came directly from hospital and was admitted, and then just kicked him out after 20 minutes because they believed he couldn't get on the top bunk. They put his stuff outside the gate and told him to call someone to come and get him. So much showing concern for your fellow man.
