There are updated parts of the room, and others that are definitely not. From photos is looks fairly nice, but in person it's not the best. The shower curtain and couch are dirty/stained, there are random pieces of furniture that are broken/damaged, etc. It's not terrible, but definitely leaves something to be desired.

A quiet resort. This may have been because of the hurricane. Our suite was super clean, modern, and comfortable. No grocery stores nearby. Stop and shop for basic food options for breakfast/sandwiches for lunch before you check in. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. No issues.

Beautiful place to stay for a nice vacation. Views from the balcony and windows were outstanding. They're still working on things as the hurricane from a year ago hit the area hard. Still, even with work being done, it was a great stay. It's convenient having Flippers next door. 5 stars!

The location was beautiful but the room/ service not so much. The water had a rotten egg/ sewage smell that would not go away even after running the water 20 minutes which made it difficult to shower and brush teeth and left an awful smell in the room. Went to the front desk multiple times to notify management of the problem but there was no one knowledgeable about the building on site. There also appeared to be a potential bed bug problem in the unit we rented as we had multiple itchy bites on our skin during and after the stay.

Pleasant in all aspects, good service, cleanliness, staff, location, spectacular views.
My opinion on the second visit (July 2024) has changed, we paid a lot for a supposed luxury suite, of which there was nothing except the size, the cleanliness of the bathroom, the carpets, the light switches left a lot to be desired. Incomplete kitchen utensils, and the pans and cutlery better not comment. I don't think these details are so difficult to improve for such a beautiful location with excellent views.
Rooms: Although the furniture is old, it is well preserved and everything is very clean.

My fiancée and I recently got married and booked our honeymoon stay at Lovers Key Resort. When we arrived it seemed deserted. There was very little parking and not a person in sight. No one was in the lobby to check us in because they were already closed for the day. After calling a phone # that was on the front desk we finally found out how to get to our room. Our entire floor was under construction which we were unaware of. The keypad to get into the room was not easy to use. The passcode was several digits long and did not have normal card entry. We walked into our room to find that the AC unit was leaking and a note saying it would be fixed that next day with a bucket on the floor. During our walkthrough we found hair, sand, and toenails on the floor. At the bottom of the bathroom shower there was what seemed to be black mold. We were absolutely disgusted and got connected to the property manager named Tonya Reed. She showed no empathy of any kind and stated that she had just been in the room and everything was fine as if we were lying. We told her about how we were upset over the floor being under construction and she told us that it was our fault for not checking the website when it wasn’t on the website at all. She also tried to say that we wouldn’t allow cleaning services into the room but we hadn’t even arrived yet. We told her that we wanted a refund and would be leaving to find somewhere else to stay. She laughed and said that she would request a refund but it probably won’t be approved. Tonya Reed has shown that she does not care about the customers and should not be in a customer facing role. We did not deserve to be treated this way on the first night of our honeymoon. Our day was ruined because of this whole experience and I would not recommend staying here ever! We decided to stay at Margaritaville instead where we are actually treated like human beings.
Safety: The elevator license was expired.
Walkability: Our floor that our room was on was a tripping hazard due to the torn up carpet.

I will probably never stay anywhere else when I go down to visit. I could live in this resort! The resort is perfect, the rooms at the best, the views are gorgeous, and the staff has always been helpful and pleasant. The location of the resort puts me close to all the places I love. Flippers has great food and great servers, the bar is nice and bartenders friendly. I saw dolphins and sting rays every single day during my last visit.
Rooms: Beautiful, spacious, clean, and open. The balcony views are the best part. It’s impossible to wake up in a foul mood when you stay in any of the rooms at this resort. There were days I didn’t leave my room and set on my balcony all day and just really enjoyed the view. It’s just beautiful.
Nearby activities: Lovers key state park is my favorite place to be. Beautiful beaches, plenty of shells, wildlife, and again the staff and park rangers are just delightful.
Safety: I always feel safe and secure at this resort. I’ve never had any trouble and I’ve always experienced friendly staff and like minded travelers
Walkability: Although flippers is the only walkable area to see the location of this resort puts you no more then 30 minutes from almost everything.. beaches, food, shopping, sight seeing, fishing, all within 30 minutes of drive time
Food and drinks: Flippers is wonderful for any meal or even just a quick drink and breath of fresh air.

This was my second time staying at this resort. Its rooms are spacious, clean and accommodating. We had one with a master bedroom, full kitchen and a pull out couch. This is definitely a place to go for relaxing and quiet time. There are not a lot of activities at the resort itself, but within a few miles of it are beaches with kayak and paddle board rentals. I do wish that there was a beach or somewhere to fish that is closer or on property so you didn’t have to pack everything up and drive to it.
Food and drinks: There is a restaurant right next to the resort which is convenient

It's nicely situated on the water and is in relatively close proximity to stores and restaurants. The staff is nice. The pool is on a smaller side and is right to the restaurant that gets rather noisy. The beach is tiny and you'd need to drive to Lovers Key park if you're looking for a beach.
