Had such a relaxing fun time. The residents are so friendly and welcoming. The New Years Eve bash was a lot of fun. Wish our cabin had an outside fire pit but everything else was perfect. Cabin was super cute and clean.

Nice springs for swimming, kayaking, with manatees in the winter. Plenty of jumping fish and wildlife. Good camping but guard against insects depending on the season.

Second time around so I'm adding a few additional notes. Thanks to Bob for the great check in experience! I've added a kayak to my camping equipment, unfortunately Salt Springs doesn't have a kayak launch site on premises. I did find and hike the one trail; which is a great Florida Birding trail titled "Bear Swamp Trail". It's a loop that takes a hiker on a 1.5 mile journey through various environments. The swamp section has an elevated walkway and overall the trail didn't seem to used a great deal. While I didn't encounter many birds I did see some interesting wildlife. I've added pictures to highlight those forest creatures. During our three day visit a hawk came by our campsite each day. That was very special and another reason to return. I would recommend Salt Springs to anyone looking for an amazing adventure! This is an interesting camping experience! The grounds are very open and well manicured. All sites have water, electric, and sewer hookups. However, due to the location of the hookups you might need an extension for you sewer line or compromise the travel trailer position. The springs are amazing! Easy entry for swimming or snorkeling highlights this unique setting. The staff and camp hosts are very knowledgeable and friendly.

If you like the smell of marijuana this is the place for you. It was overpowering at times. People openly smoking and no staff doing anything about it. When I complained about it at the office they advised me they couldn't do anything unless they saw people in the act. I told them they obviously haven't been down around the water. I saw people just puffing away. So we left. Never go back. Isn't marijuana still illegal under federal law? Isn't this federal property?

Just about a perfect experience. They had water issues while I was there which made it more difficult than it needed to be. Most staff was over the top with kindness and gratitude.

One of my favorites! They have primitive and electric sites with a boat ramp into Lake George, for campers. It's a short walk to the spring. There are two shops where you can get food, floats, firewood and ice. Close boat or jet ski ride to Silver Glen. Loved the scenery and the animals (we've seen gators, deer and a bear. We've been here 4 times this year and haven't seen the monkeys...yet. You're in the forest so it's beautiful. The staff are friendly and the bathroom has showers and is cleanRestrooms: Has showers and is cleanDog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome at campsites not at the spring/day use areaPicnic area: Several picnic areas with grills and tables in the day use area. Each campsite has a pole for hanging trash/lights, a picnic table and a fire ring

For $12 per person I expect everything to be pristine and immaculate. It was well maintained but not pristine and immaculate The spring is shallow water with a sandy bottom somewhat unique so it is a good place for one time visit especially for little people. US Forest service bureaucrats if you're listening you need to reduce the price to remove the barrier citizens face when trying to visit public lands paid for by tax dollars.

The staff ruins this place. They have crazy rules and they stand there watching you to make a mistake, or your young child, just so they can yell and be disrespectful towards you. They follow you around on golf carts. A fine for parking in the grass in the middle of nowhere. Just that threatening demeanor will shut them down. They yelled at my 6 yr old for picking a leaf off of an oak tree at the campsite, all the way across the campground, they yelled at my son. The spring is ok overall, but the staff here is ridiculous. Won't be back.

This is a FANTASTIC place to camp - or even just visit for the day! We came in early July and got online that day to book a return camping trip with our RV. Both the camping area and water “park” are kept VERY clean and you know you’re an RV’er when you’re not only excited for full hookup but also the sewer area bring in a “sink”!

It definitely a great experience for families. We got there a little after closing, make sure you call before they close to get the code for the gate. It is very dark after the sun goes down so try to get there early. It is pretty quiet at night and everyone there is super friendly. At your camp site for the primitive camping section, you have a food storage container which you can use, so bring a lock. This is where we kept our cooler and our car keys when we went to the springs. The facilities are very clean also, don’t forget to bring shower sandals though. We stayed at 133 which was closest to the springs from the primitive camping area, it was a short walk (less than 4 minutes). For the tent, we did but actual steaks that are longer and sturdier. We didn’t see any bears or wild animals. At night you’re saw a lot of fireflies which was beautiful. There is a picnic table, grill & fire pit for your use. Each primitive area had their own. That the check in area they sell basics and have fresh coffee!! I would definitely go again. It was a very nice experience.
