Not as stoked as I'm used to seeing a west marine and it's slowly becoming a clothing store, other than that the staff was friendly and very helpful.

Expensive as usual ? but they may have what you need in a pinch. I go to sailor man (New and used) first just a few mins down the road.

In Fort Lauderdale, the West Marine stores mainly cater to the powerboat community and not enough to the sailing community. Sometimes, the staff does not know some of the hardware utilized in small sailboats, and they have minimal items for sailboaters. Now, I buy online from the Harken website. It is a waste of time for me to go to West Marine in Fort Lauderdale. The store in Pompano Beach is even worse.
